Stanks Go Perpetual In 2018!

I am curious as to what people consider the 'Gun Lobbiest's' Are we talking the NRA?? Kinda wondering cause that would make me a gun lobbiest and I am pretty sure I ain't holding anyone hostage!

You are absolutely correct, far more money in the left's anti-gun campaign than those pro gun lobbiests. Tough to find an good discussion on this subject, most often one side is grossly misinformed or completely uninformed.

Its funny, both Ms Stank and I both held off responding. I wanted to come up with the correct response, which yours was perfect, before responding. I hope that people know while I or others might not necessarily agree with something you post, its not personal. I know that the world's media paints the picture it wants regarding America, and they are certainly entitled to do that. but just like the old interweb...just cause someone on TV says something doesn't make it true.

Get this: Icemud scored a job in California partly because he became an advocate for stricter testing of extracts. His wording actually made it into the Cali legal code. :p

So I jazzed him about being a lobbyist. :bongrip:

Amazing plant and structure Van. Anyone who thinks it's easy to train a plant to look like that on top just needs to take a peek at that undercarriage. Nice job all 'round :thumb:.
Sorry I missed responding to this earlier Shed.

Yeah it definitely take a lot of effort to get the girls to look the way we want em. Those that do a lot of training tend to appreciate those nuances of plant manipulation and training a lot more. While I appreciate the natural beauty these plants give us, I would be BORED to death growing without training. I spend an hour with the veg girls every morning, listening to music and staring at the young ones trying to envision what they would look like trained different ways. Everything always comes back to the same thing....I need more space!

Wish I had that kinda time with my plants Van! The time you spend pays huge dividends :thumb:

Whilst I can agree with big pharma running the country I fail to see how gun lobbiests are running the country
Going to start by saying that I support the 2nd amendment and the right to bear arms in this country. That said, I thought I'd jump in to say the way the gun lobby (read NRA) "runs" the country has nothing to do with money. It has to do with influence. A majority of Americans support a number of gun laws that the NRA universally opposes. They hold sway over politicians because they issue a ranking of candidates based on the candidates' opposition to any gun control whatsoever. The folks who vote in primaries tend to be more single issue voters and therefore candidates are afraid to go up against the NRA.

The majority of the citizens of the country support many gun laws that can't get passed because of the NRA.

I know many that do not support any gun laws that get proposed. Any law that limits our right is a law that infringes on that right. People always spout off statistics about how high gun crime and gun violence rates are and then push for stricter laws. While failing to realize that the places withe the highest gun crime rates and gun violence rates are in parts of the country with the strictest gun laws. Chicago is one of the hardest places in the country to own a gun in legally yet has one of the highest crime rates you will find. California is the same way. You cannot say that adding more laws and restricting more peoples rights will make a difference. There are already laws in place that forbid all the crimes that get committed with firearms. THEY DO NOTHING to stop people. So saying they will listen if you add more is delusional at best. Adding stricter laws only effects those that are inclined to follow the laws anyways. Which keeps guns out of the hands of every day Americans that would otherwise have a means to protect oneself. People are less likely to commit crimes if they know they are going to face opposition. If a burglar has two house side by side that they can hit and one is known to be the home of gun owners and the other is a known anti-gun household which one do you think they are going to rob? The one they do not have to fear being shot inside of.

Now while the NRA does rate politicians, this can effect peoples votes on either side. People that are for more gun control can look at these ratings as well and vote for the ones that have shitty ratings. Just as easily as pro-2A folks can use it to vote for the ones with better ratings. Honestly though at this point in time most candidates use being pro or anti gun in their campaigns heavily. So you do not even need to check the NRA ratings unless you feel the candidate is lying. And at this point they are doing more to keep politicians honest, at least on this one issue, than any other group is.

As far as single issue voters goes, I see a lot of gun owners that agree with other points a lot of repubs make in their campaigns as well. It does suck that you cannot find a candidate that will agree with us on every issue. I am sure I come across as pretty right wing with this rant but I am more of a moderate or a libertarian with conservative leanings. I cannot get behind any candidates ideology 100%, but i cannot vote to have my rights stripped away from me either. Believe it or not once we lose our right to bear arms, all of the others will get stripped from us as well.

If I could find candidates that would protect the second amendment, legalize weed and not use it as a way to strip you of the second amendment, allow marriage between any two people that wish to be married, allow a baker to refuse to make a ake for anyone they do not wish to make a cake for for whatever reason, allow women to make whatever choice they wish to, and keep the governments nose the fuck away from my business while allowing me as much freedom to do as I please so long as I am not harming other people, well then that is who I would vote for. Unfortunately everyone plays party lines and it comes down to either firearms or possibly legal weed. It is a shitty spot to be in.

Sounds like you described Gary Johnson in your candidate description. But we know that the big politics won't tolerate someone that doesn't play by their rules.

Great response Yeti. We see things very similar brother. Loved the response regarding the NRA rankings. Politicians love to flip flop on topics more than just about any other group because they really only have two jobs. First job of a politician is getting elected. The other job of a politician is to get re-elected. If their mouth is moving, rest assured they are campaigning. The NRA helps to expose those candidates that will gladly trade our rights for votes.

That's the great thing about living in a Constitutional Republic vs a full democracy. Your individual rights are protected regardless of what the 'popular majority' want.

Love the open discussion/communication as well. I love seeing actual discussions of opposing points of view that don't resemble what we generally see elsewhere that almost always end up in childish personal attacks. Very refreshing.

You getting any snow Duggan? We are supposed to get our first bit of the season in a day or two.

Cutting down the BCP tomorrow. Got all the harvest stuff washed and prepped. Can't wait to free up some room in the tent. Likely gonna flip and spray the Meltdown clones to make some S1s and test the STS before I do the BCP for seeds and then the Tangie Ghost Train.

Its official, the Stankberry plants have outgrown the T5 space. *Sighs*, was hoping for a few more days before that.....they are really growing now. They blew right by the DTF and now the ATF in size. I wonder what it is about that strain that has them growing so freaking fast. Pics coming along with the Amherst Sour Diesel in a bit!
