Stanks Go Perpetual In 2018!

And I know a pound might sound far fetched

Not to me....

This is one of the strains we grew mainly outdoors in the late 80's and early 90's.
It was quick, heavy yielding, & potent.
This is the reason I have so many breeders NL seeds to sort through. Nostalgia on my part perhaps, but there is no mistaking the potential for a heavy yield.

There is very good reason that the Northern Lights strain has stood the test of time for 30+ years. It has everything you could want going for it.

Yeah I am kind of wanting to go back through my updates with her and find how early on I predicted she was going to be a beast. I think it was shortly after I put her in the 2 gallon pot. I saw that growth explosion and her structure and I just knew! I kid you not, every time I checked her in that little tent I kept thinking "Damn that's a big bitch, she's gonna be tough to keep manageable.

It wasn't until I did my weights yesterday on the Stank that I thought the pound was doable. The density of these buds is incredible, especially if you get that light right down over her canopy. Luckily I think this Northern Lights will grow right into her sweet spot.

The strain we grew back in the day was NL#5 from "The Seed Bank" which is now Sensi seeds.
And I believe the one you are growing, I have heard it is not the same as it use to be. But I have heard others say it is worth it. This is why I watch your grow with probably as much enthusiasm as you.

When it is finished, I am eager to your final thoughts overall about her.

that is an interesting bit of history... And good to know... Any idea on mr.nice seeds? I don't think they have a straight northern lights anymore.... But ive been wanting to try their crosses and find a NL dominant pheno... NL was what I started/grew up smoking... Or at least that's what they called it. Lol

ive said it before and ill say it again...NL is my favorite! She's gonna do something awesome for you Van! She just keeps looking better. Can't wait to see the buds stacking, that is one heck of a light!

hope everyone's having a happy hump day!
:passitleft:
Thanks brother! I am excited for her. She is looking great today. Looks like she grew a bit overnight. I will start looking for hairs on her in a day or two. She is one big bitch!! Its so funny, I have the Nukehead sitting next to me that was vegged for the same number of days as the NL. Its amazing the difference in everything about the plant.

It is from Sensi. I don't remember it saying NL5 on it but I kind of assumed it was the #5 since it was Sensi's. As for the smoke, well that will be determined in about 3+ months. Yield and vigor will be finalized in about 50 days at the latest I hope!

Hoping that if I continue with @bobrown14 s trick of ground malted barely into the top dressings, it will be a little bit quicker than that. Seemed to have worked with the Stankberry but didn't seem to do much with the Nukehead.

This Northern Lights definitely has me excited!

I have Ortega from Mr Nice, NL #1 x NL#5. Should be a solid NL

So a NL x NL huh. That could be interesting if the two plants were distinctly different.

We have a couple ideas for this NL. But Stank Genetics is going to keep that under wraps for while. Needless to say, if the smoke on this thing is anywhere near the quality of her growth.......she will stay a fixture in our garden.

Supposedly Neville received 11 clones from a guy in Washington State the Guy is refered to as the “Indian”. Neville created a boatload of strains with them. NL#5 was considered the best of all. I’m sure most were bred with stable Afghan males at some point. But Sensi Seeds and Mr Nice should both still have the original NL#5 Genetics.
