Legendary cut, some crazy nice plants. Very ypical OG plant though, and I've been blessed to grow some nice ones. So far though, she's yielding a bit more than expected. Smells are foul and dank, really liking the mix and what's going on.

The problem with growing OG in soil is that they hold N like crazy and if you can't wring them out, they will taste less than stellar. This girl was cut off fron N at 28 days, even from calcium nitrate (CaMag), which I occasionally add because I use demineralized water. So I have pure Ca to add, and Mg separate. I'll feed some benes, K-humic, bone meal - no boosters, no stims. From day 28 she'll get only ... Water, bene bact/fung, SLF100, Humic, Humic-K, liquid bone meal, that's about it.

Wedding Cake - week 6

What a looker. Density of trichomes is insane. She just keeps building, swelling and building more. That's how she'll yield. I'm seeing a change in color, so I'm expecting purple flowers, and her to lighten up a bit. Like GMO, if I don't see her yellow up, I'll strip her of most of her fans.

I think we forget about transpiration and all its complications, too. The big improvement to my space has been lighting, so I'm adjusting to more plant volume, which leads to increased water uptake and increased evaporation off the leaf mass. I can get solid growth 2 feet into the canopy, but it's the kind we're talking about - it's on that balanced edge of utility. If I rattle its cage, it turns off the spigot and shifts growth upward, dropping the old fans. And since the upper growth is getting such solid light, the plant is driving hard to supply the top of the canopy, and is perfecting willing to let the old stuff go.

But if the smaller plants in smaller pots aren't doing it, I'm blaming it on root mass and/or soil activity. If I was in bigger pots, I think the fans would last longer.

I'm not so much concerned with fading at the end of bloom. I just hate to lose fans in that early/mid bloom stage, when it doesn't seem appropriate. It doesn't bother me because I don't believe it has much effect on the final product, but it annoys me as a grower. I should be able to avoid those cage-rattles. On the other hand, I'm a lazy grower and at peace with that.

Transpiration always seems to be pushed to the back of the conversations, I agree. I too think maybe because it can be dealt with with only minimal tells of VPD related tissue damage, and no detectable other negatives other than the anecdotal sense that maybe you lost some retained smell in the produce. I think we all have to be lazy somewhere, so I don't do much more than make sure they get great air circulation, and I focus on the rest. At some point, I'll get a hydrostat and iron out my humidity concerns. Prob next on my list.

Adjusting to the light is another good example at how everything is interelated within the one system, and that our attempts to gain advantage are few lol. I will have to do something similar after I put in the humidity devices.

dam straight cant beat good old earth 28 days ha that's way to soon for me pretty much the only nitro they get comes from the ewc tea and the crescendo im using which is almost none ill cut the tea off about 3 weeks before chop unless they still need some the crescendo gets cut off the week before then its just sugar water,your plants look amazing cs!

I agree with you my son grows hydro gets massive yield but his smoke is lacking something so this grow he is doing a cut from my tut and a ud cut from me when there done were going to get together and compare soil grown to hydro grown lol I already no the soil grown is going to be the favorite but its fun anyway!

I love me some dirt. This dirt has more dirt in it than the last dirt actually lol. I really liked my coco-only plants too though, but they were done with organics as well as some synths. I can see some sweet magic there too, organic/coco. Water culture and syth-only plants are just different in how the grow. Just a preference, but I like what soil/coco and organics brings to the table. Sounds like you are in for a great comparison, find what you both prefer.

I've heard she is a great looker, but fairly bland smoke. Let's hope those people are full of shit. LOL!

I smoked some with a friend around the time I tripped and fell over a lobster, and right onto this clone, face first. High was different and flat in a way, but it had some nice points, and it was pretty strong. I suspect this nugs if they are given out, will be more for bragging rights than for smoking pleasure. It's just a frostitute's world, people like the cake man.

I expect I'll find her fine for a strong narcotic hammer, not bad to find in the tool box. After a few moths, we'll see if she's still useful. Hope you're killing it bro.

Girls are all looking good man! Is this your first run with the GMO? I see people regularly mention that it runs about 12 weeks for them. If that is the case then you have plenty of time left for her to fade out for you. All around a very nice batch of plants you have going on over here bud! I have a Fruity Pebble OG x Wedding cake going and it is a frost mosnter. One of the only things I have run that can give the Slurricane a run for its money in the frost department.

Looking forward to seeing them all finish. The Sour, is hopefully the Sour, but I'm not quite getting the stretch ... dunno. GMO made some seeds in the OG lowers, and maybe the Cake too...so I'm looking forward to that too. Going to pop some SVF x SSH seeds today, maybe look in my seed box and see what else.

Lol I call it Fruit Cake in my head. It does not smell fruity though or like cereal so i am going to guess it leans pretty heavily towards the Cake side of things. People Under the Stairs has a cut of GMO and has mentioned it running 12 weeks. Then I have seen a few other complain about the long flower time. (12 weeks is not terrible to me, over that is when I consider them long flowering). The yield is supposed to be very heavy though. I am glad you are able to take it at 10. that is about average for what I run everything to now a days.

Yeah PUTS has put on a few charity auctions lately. He is also a breeder that has ECSD, AJ's Sour D, Chem D and a few other very nice clone only lines in his stable. He made 4DD which is a multiple chem cross and has hit a few killer strains with it. I bid on a pack of ECSDx4DD but did not win.

Hmm 12 huh. I'm planning on seeing what the girls look like, but I run Chem to 70 no more, and cookies should be as quick, so to that was my reasoning, and they looked the pull. If I have the room I'll let em run, but we shall see. Gotta kill some old mothers to make room for some new veggers. Too many strains in cups lol.

Diesel at 53 of 70 or so. Smell is really turning to sharp burnt tire..reeks of it. I've been waiting for that smell, it smells like she's supposed to smell, so second time's a charm. She's got 2.5 weeks left, I'll give her some sugar now to get her through, there's prob not a lot of food left in that pot, but there should be some. She's fading out now, with her daughter (fingers crossed ecsd) in the background. Should smell and taste better this round. 10wk is perfect if you like the Diesel front end. The 'high' is very head based and euphoric - it will go up and UP and UUUUP... some people can't take it lol.

GMO Day 40ish. Man she went for the roof. I don't know if I can let it go 80, we'll see. Like 12 long ass colas. Some good buds, but trimming jail ... I hate it already lol. By the way, that's a egregiously large carbon filter strapped to my ceiling, it was on sale.

Wedding Cake aka Pink Cookies Like what the fuck do you say to this thing. Day 50 of around 70 I think. She's starting to fade, and I'm pretty happy about that. I'll get them out for some non-cell pix soon.

Buds are just bombs. Smoke isn't bad, it's strong as hell. It's probably not going to make the hall of fame, but it will fill some jars and bud porn tissues for sure.

Gotta figure out what's coming and what's going.

The move back to smaller pots should make them fade out more and should exhaust all the soil. I don't ever 'flush' plants with lots of water, so this is needed to finish them properly. I don't see yield or health decreasing. Watering just slightly quicker, every 2 days instead of 3.
