When my partner and I used to grow in the bush on the South West coast of Australia, we’d line the bottom of the plots with loads of seaweed ( which I believe is mainly nitrogen?). They used to grow to 14 foot tall (once a 16 foot one we videotaped) and we’d only see them 3 or 4 times before harvest..refresh plots each season (fresh seaweed), plant seedlings, rip out males., go out to harvest ..or if they needed more time, we’d go back later to harvest. So easy.
I’m really envious you’re able to grow outdoors, Spookie!! Respect.

Haha yep that's what I'm after I've seriously considered going to beach before now you've sealed the deal. Lol. Yeah seaweed has not only lots of nitrogen it's got plants hormones eg gibberellins in it which help it grow so big underwater. It's also got tons of Sulfur and other goodies.

That's classic because I'm struggling a bit for stuff to fill up the big holes I'm planning. Racing horse sawdust poo and seaweed I love it!

Im guessing the seaweed would have to be washed well or something because of all the salt??

Yeah but its actually been rinsed quite thoroughly already is the stuff we are looking for you know the beaches where its washed up and in meter thick layers ie Myponga beach. This is restricted in some places but we are free to do it AussieBlueTHC we should take advantage of it.

Yeah why not if it can be used like that. I just thought it would be too high in salts without some processing of some kind.

You can leach it in buckets but I think that is too much work. Id just fill up the boot with the rinsed slightly composted stuff. If the beach smells like rotten eggs it's a good sign of good decomposition of seaweed going on.

I dont know Im guessing its good to go because its been rained on a rotted down there I really dont know. I added some thrive for citrus trees to my lemon and mandarin plants got a sip too because I still dont have nutes.
