Spitz Tries His Hand At The Dr. & Some Fruit In Soil!

Thank you all for the kind words. I'll take a stab at describing the smell. As for the Raspberry Cough, it has some of that sativa smell in her. The fruity, earthy, sweet aroma. The best way to describe it is "Tiger Striped Gum", if you remember that stuff. No 2 pieces were the same and it all smelled and tasted like fruit. It just smelled like fruit that isn't from this planet.

As for the Super Lemon Haze... There is a touch of lemon in it. It's drowned out by fuel though. Not diesel necessarily, but, something lower off the distillation tower. Definitely a petroleum odor though. It has a "stink" to it. Ah hell, they both smell like pot. Both have a touch of fruit. The Raspberry Cough smells good. The SLH stinks likes it's going to be good!

I fear the smoke report might let y'all down. I'll push her for a detailed description this time. I usually get "great!".

End of week 8 bloom (week 9 12/12) update...

The SLHaze and Raspberry Cough are still hanging in the box. I'll check them Sunday. As for the plants still standing, the Blueberry is definitely ready to come down. The Strawberry Cheesecake is real close. Those 2 will come down when the drying box is empty (3-7 days). The Grinspoons seem to be packing on substantial weight. I wonder if it's because I'm feeding them with the runoff from my coco experiment. I may have to consider a routine feed/flush program moving forward.

First up is a tent shot. S. Cheesecake on the front left and BBerry on the right. Grinspoons in the back.

And now a shot of the Dr. Grinspoon tops. These things are building some clubs for flowers. I'm going to be pleasantly surprised with the harvest on both of them. I'm wondering if it's from them being closer to the lights?

image33745.jpg

I don't think they are going to make it to 13 weeks. I'll let them go as long as they are growing but I'm guessing 2 weeks and 3 weeks tops. Hopefully I'll have a middle week update with some previous harvest pics.

Peace!

Nice G Spoon Spitz! Congrats for the corrugated box of bountiful THC nuggs. Dry them slowly. I left mine in the box 2 weeks then went to jars for another month and the smell is phenomenal!

Vlad

They dry quick here. Put them in a box for 3 days and feeling too dry on the outside. I moved them to jars, added a cheap hygrometer (that reads very accurate from 20-80% RH). After 2 days they leveled at 70%. I have laid them out for an hr or so each night and they are down to 65%. I have some Bovida 62s but that feels a bit moist to me. Going to work them to 55% and then lock down the jar until Christmas Eve.

End of week 9 bloom update (10 weeks 12/12).....

The Blueberry came down 2 days ago. Momma had to cut her up alone so no pics before harvest. My coco girl is looking nice. She was under the P450 with a Purple Kush I just had to plant. The little one is a WW that went straight 12/12 as an experiment too. The Purple Kush will move into the tent tomorrow morning when I do my weekly cleanup of the spare room.

Anyway, some pics...
First up is the drying SLH. As mentioned, I probably harvested the upper 2/3 and the lower 1/3 went to the butter pile. She is in 2 qt jars and they are some solid flowers. I'll try and grab some close ups with the good camera if/when I weigh them. I don't own a scale but I might have to get one to make sure I'm in compliance (ironic eh??).

Next up is the Strawberry Cheesecake. She is going to come down tomorrow. She may not look good, but she is frosty as hell, sticky as tar, and stinks terrible. I bet she'll be good!

Now up are the Grinspoon flowers. One club and one small cluster. The cluster shot nuggets are the size of golf balls. They are still pushing flowers and will go at least another week. I'll try and take and post some trichome pictures next update.

Last but not least... The coco experiment. She is a Medijuana seed that went to 12/12 a few days before the SLH was cut up. I might like this coco deal. We shall see.

Shout out any pointers, comments, or concerns... Peace!

I lied when I said the Strawberry Cheesecake was coming down earlier. She is still standing (mostly because I haven't had the time to chop her up) but ready to come down. One of the Grinspoons hasn't pushed any more growth in a week. The other is fox tailing still and showing some new growth. I'll cut the SC this week (hopefully tomorrow) and probably the first Dr. G. next weekend. The Blueberry has been dried to about 50% RH and is now in jars. I'll grab some pictures this weekend.

I'm so looking forward to the pics of another harvest. :yahoo::woohoo:

End of week 10 bloom (11 weeks of 12/12)

i took some pictures of some trichomes on these plants and now I'm confused. First up is the Strawberry Cheesecake. I think I'm going to let her go another week. She looks terrible but the flowers look very nice.

And the plant!

Now up is the first Dr. Grinspoon. You can see it's still growing but the trichome show she might be ready??

Now the 2nd Grinspoon. It's in a similar position but not pushing out new pistils.

I don't know. I don't think I'll be disappointed if I cut the Grinspoons down, but, I'm just not sure. The Strawberry Cheesecake will go another week.

Your thoughts??

I'll show the coco Medijuana mid week. She looks terrific!

I love those pics Spitz. I do not think you would can go wrong with giving them a little more time. There does appear to be a lot of clear in there. I have been told that the Trics continue to mature during the drying. So just a little food for thought. :)

Thanks Rat. I'm leaning toward cutting the last Grinspoon down and letting the SC and DG1 go at least another week. The fact she hasn't shown much/any new growth leads me to believe she's ready. That being said, I'll gladly entertain opposing thoughts until the first "snip" can be heard! Your bubble bucket girls are looking awesome! Any roots on those clones yet?

I'd say - when in doubt always leave it longer. I thought I left my last harvest of PChunk ten day too long, till I started cutting it and decided it was damn near perfect. I find if I harvest a bud and start trimming it up I get a pretty good idea right away. I'm more and more inclined to ignore the trichome colors and just harvest when I 'know' it's ready. It's one thing to try and convince myself that bud is ready,as I've done a million times. It's another thing entirely to be cutting my way through sticky gooey pungent buds that just exude ripeness.
I realize this probably isn't the most helpful info, Lol!

I promised on page 1 that I would harvest them all too soon. Well, I'll likely do that... It just won't be until at least another week. Thanks Weasel and Rat. That Dr. G is a 100 day strain. IF I don't see anything out of DG2, she comes down next weekend.

Check out this little beauty... This is a side project I started with my coco girl. I think it's going to be my Dec POM entry. Another basically 12/12 from seed project to finish by Dec1st I planted once my big girls were 2 weeks out. She's going to have some nice color me thinks.
