I just did a little spray of neem oil hope I don't hurt the plants. First time have something other than nats/fugus flys.
Spider mites or aphids?

BT (mosquito dunks) ground into the top 2 inches of your media will end gnats.
I’m having the same experience with a bag of happy frog. I started a thread here also. Same bugs, I didn’t get a good pic though. So small. I sprayed 2x with 1/2 strength neem and have only seen a couple since then. Possibly beneficial soil mites but didn’t want to risk it.

This is a first been using fox farm soil for over 2 years now never seen them before but, this is the first bag of coco loco I have gotten. I have sprayed with neem and also order some down to earth neem cake.
Neem is good for insect control. Many critters don't like it so they move on to greener pasture.
Regarding insects in soil media. Its all part of the whole. Anyone that has a vermi-compost bin will know there are bugs on, in and around the compost. They there and plants arent so thats a good thing. They don't as a general rule eat plants they eat other stuff.
With Vermi-composting we let the compost sit over winter. All the bugs die back (leaving frass behind) then in the spring the compost is ready to get to work growing plants.

Just like we should not kill off a spider that is near the plants just because it is a spider. It could be the one predator that is eating a few of the mites and keeping more from moving in.
