Spec420's Soil Lemon Sour Diesel LED Grow

Damn Spec! Sorry to hear about your loss. Let the little lady heal you with meditation as you work on her. On the bright side, not having to go to court is always a good thing. Also, I'm with Phil on this one too. I used to do my journal on a calendar, writing when I watered, tilled, transplanted, what nutes and such, now I can just go back to my last 2, as well as one of the 10 journals I am subbed to right now, and find whatever I need to know. My first journal I only updated every week until I realized that my auto probably needed pulled, but I couldn't pull myself to do it. Now it's every couple of weeks or so. Plants take a week to show you what happened today in most cases. Work at the speed of your plant, grow roots and everything else just seems to take care of itself.

So yesterday I got motivated and got in the garage with a friend of mine and got some stuff done.
He brought be a plastic pallet that will go in the tent as the floor. I scrubbed it down, bleached it, scrubbed it some more, bleached again, and let dry overnight.
My Exhaust and carbon filter are due on the doorstep any day now and that is really needed. I have been forcing cold air in with passive exhaust and need to change over to exhausting with passive air in. It is winter and very cold in my garage so I use an infrared bulb to keep the heat up in the tent as well as the light heat. It keeps the tent in the 70's. I found my bulb burnt out yesterday so it has been in the 60's in the tent the last couple of days.
My nutes are on the way too. Part 3 arrived but need parts 1 and 2 to make a batch and start using it.

Hey Spec, Good morning Bud! How are you today? It sounds like you ended up keeping your mind off the matters a little yesterday. I wonder if you put a vaporizer in there if it will help you temps out. As an experiment to see how much work the humidifier or vaporizer did in there on their own, I shut one off. Last night was the vaporizer off. The Humidifier kept the humidity at about 50%, which is nice, could be higher but cool. However the temp dropped from 80ºf to 75-73ºf. Those extra few degrees of warmth really help the roots and generally speed up all chemical reactions in the plant. They become REALLY efficient at about 80ºf. If everything else is right, that is when and where you start seeing 2" of growth a day. (my best Duece Bigalow impression) "That's a Huge Bitch!"

Yeah, Ripe1, this indoor thing is really different for me. Outdoor was much easier for me. Guess 10 years of outdoor just has me set in my thinking.
I figure I have another few days of fiddling with my environment before it gets set properly.
What's the thought, stress them out young and they will grow up big and strong? Hopefully my girls will be beasts.

Oh for sure Bro! It took me a whole month to figure out each part of my grow. Even still, I am experimenting. I make records, in the recording industry one of my mantras is It's not what gear you have, it's how well you know how to use what you have. Give me a good band and shit recording equipment and I'll still make a sick record! It's because I know what every increment of every knob is going to do. That only happened because I spent YEARS changing one thing at a time seeing what it did. Now, I am doing that with my grow.

Yay, my delivery came today.
Funny Amazon delivery story....I am watching tracking all morning long....I go out at noon and come home at 1. No packages on the doorstep. I am home and listening all afternoon and check tracking at 8:30 pm. Tracking shows delivered. WTF...I see no packages, I heard no deliveries... I rarely have packages taken from porch (once in 3 years and all they got was stuff for my snakes....) I get pissed and look how to report it and get into the details of the tracking and it says, "Delivered to side door." I have no side door......wait, the old front door on the side of the house that's not used....I run to the side of the house and look and there it is....the box I have been waiting for...Smoked a couple of bowls and unpacked it....

I will be completely redoing the 4x4 tomorrow!

Siiiiick! That is a must have! Here in about a month you'll be real glad.

Nice start on your journal, you are right, growing indoors is way different that outdoors, there is something about Mother Nature that can't be replicated indoors so you have to make the best of what you have got. The nice thing about growing indoors is you have better control of the environment if you get it dialed in properly.
I takes some trial & error and a few $$$ but once you get there the sailing gets smoother. :goodjob:

Thanks a ton!

If you are looking for nice frosty plants, I have found a longer veg/flower times seems to produce better, bigger, frostier buds, most new growers want to flip after only 4 weeks, on my last run the veg time was around 8=9 weeks and my flower time was 9 weeks on a Purple Kush and I will be harvesting a White Widow this weekend that is on week 13.

You will have lots of fun trying different things in those tents, it is great hobby to take up.

I am actually looking forward to an outdoor grow this spring. I did a greenhouse last summer that had poor ventilation, it got over 105ºf quite often. I ended up with 14 grams of alfalfa smelling, airy buds that didn't get me reefed at all. I have to pay the ladies at the dispensary for good meds for now. The indoor thing started off hard, but I think it was more the seeds than me. I did learn not to put seedlings under a 700 watt LED though, even if all the dials are set on low. Leaf burn! I'll help you indoor Spec and maybe you and Old TimingMan up there can help a Ripe Feller outdoors.?.? Old TimingMan gives good advise, I've seen his posts around as I'm sure you have too. Hi, btw OTM. Good to rub elbows with you in here. Spec's killin' it with his clones in there right!?

Thanks for the complement Ripe, and yes, Spec did a nice job on the clones, that is something many fail at. If you are planning an outdoor grow, now is the time to start the seedlings/clones and give them a good start for transplanting when the weather allows. Outdoors is quite different than indoors, your light/dark period is a gradual rise and fall so they will need most all summer to grow and mature. You will need to start them the same way with indoor lighting so when they hit the ground the sunlight times coinside.

I did outdoors back in the late 70's early 80's living near the 49th parallel so getting them in the ground was done around the end of April/early May and harvest was usually near the end of October...plenty time to grow some 6'-8' trees...wish I had the chance to do it again.

My outdoor grows were in the late 90's to early 00's and were South facing at 3000ft on private property, off the grid. My partner and I grew 8-10' trees and averaged a unit to a unit and a half per plant dried. Top colas bigger than 2L bottles...frigging insane.... In 2009, when I joined here, I was looking for some good advice on fine tuning my outdoor skills and just lurked. No more lurking for me...I am going balls deep now that it is legal! I want to help others and provide quality meds to Vets in my circle.

I appreciate the help Ripe....and the rest of the community!

OTM - I need to hit your journal up on the old seeds. I still have a lot of my old seed from my outdoor times that I have been preserving. My old partner took two beautiful strains and paired them. One of the strains was a Nepalise. The child seed is what we planted for our meds. He also only gave the seeds to selective growers in the NorCal area. The result was a beautiful plant that really grew heartily and had a head high that made us giggle till our cheeks hurt.

I wonder how this is going to grow indoor....

I stopped at my local Hefty Harvest and picked up a fan speed controller and 2 bags of Fox Farms.

I think I am ready to go transform the grow tent.....Pics later this afternoon.

Boy you set the bar high don't ya! I'd do a flip off of the balcony if I could grow one indoors half the size of that!

Brother....with this grow the bar is completing with a harvest of any kind of smoke-able medicine. It is about learning this round, making mistakes, trying new things, building a community in my journal if the universe wills it.

I think it wills it! I am part of the universe and I will it!
