Sorenna's - 2015 - Strawberry Blue Reveg in Soil under Mars LED

I'm impressed by all that new growth bursting out down low. Interesting project Sorenna. :thumb:

High Sorenna

I've done a lot of revegging. First time was over 10 years ago and I'd barely heard of it but grew out a nice female then found out that she was killer smoke. I never got any cuttings off her so set her off to the side with a few tiny branches on what was left of her main stem. It took about a month then finally some new growth started showing up. Long single fingered leaves then when the second set came out they had 3 fingers then 5 and so on.

That makes me think that yours hasn't really revegged yet but it should in a week or so from the time line you've posted about. 18/6 light will be fine but lower light levels until you start seeing those single leaves showing up. Once they get a couple sets of new leaves they start growing fast as they already have an established root system.

I did revegging in a DWC tub with 12 plants in it 3 times. Every time I'd lose a plant or 2 but it was fun to do and got me big plants faster than starting from clones each time. :)

Good luck!

Hello OldMedUser. It is a pleasure to meet you. Welcome, I need all the experience I can get, even if its not mine. lol

Im going to go look at those leaves. Im sure that the first set had 3 fingers on one side and 1 finger on the other. I have to say Im a little confused when you say you dont think shes revegged yet. When I stripped her for harvest, I took everything except 2 of the tiniest "buds" ever at the very base of the stem. I accidentally covered part of them with the tape when I repaired her and now they are pretty much under or at soil level. But the rest of the plant was down to the nubbins at every node. One week later, in the dark too, she had about a 3 inch shoot, which is the bigger one you can see in the photos. Now, another week after that one has gone by and all these little shoots are coming out, too, while the main shoot becomes bigger and more normal looking.

Her root system was disturbed some when I repotted her, so she will have to work on it a bit, but it was mostly intact. I didnt tug on her, I just gently coaxed her out until she was free, though Im sure some of the roots broke. Her rootball is about the size of a cantaloupe. Something I forgot to mention before.

Another thing I noticed last night is that her leaves feel very rough, almost crispy dry feeling. I thought that odd, her leaves never felt like that before. Also, Ive noticed that the very first leaves have no serration at all, but now most of them do.

It's ALIVE!!

Louise wants to live :)

Yes, I do believe she wants to live. Or maybe shes just wanted to come back to haunt me, because she hasnt had her fill of watching me chase my tail trying to care for her. haha. I swear its a love/hate relationship!

Did you tell us how she smoked the first time around?
:blunt::passitleft:

I dont feel I can give her a proper smoke report because I harvested her too early. I did not get her fullest potential. Her buds were very airy and fluffy, no density at all. She has lots of frostiness, far more than Thelma had. But I did smoke what I got from her. It was good, but it didnt knock my socks off. I did not feel the need to go and lick the grass as someone reported they wanted to do. lol

I was not disappointed, however. She was not as good as Thelma, but I believe if she had gone to full maturity, she would have been better than Thelma. She did smell a bit like a fresh strawberry. She tasted sweet and kinda flowery. The buzz was pretty calm. I was able to write a little bit and I spent a lot of time on my front porch thinking thoughts that dont usually come to me. It didnt make me sleepy not even if I smoked too much of it, which I am prone to do. I really just liked smelling the buds before I smoked them, they smelled awesome. For me, pot has its own unique smell, but my plants did not smell like that. I didnt think it really smelled like cannabis that much, certainly the smell was not as strong as the street weed I have bought.

In short, I dont think I can do her smoke justice, because I have not yet fully enjoyed what she has to offer. But shes decided to give me a second chance. Sometimes, I think shes the grower and Im just the servant. "Bring me water, peon."... "Feed me, peon." Shes a mean boss because if she doesnt like what you feed her, she has a wall-eyed fit. hehe

I agree, SweetSue. She is starting get a little more prolific. I just hope she keeps it up. Already she shows the effects of my ill care with her discolored tips.

I have a feeding question. Since she is revegging, and she has a root system already and I planted her in fresh Fox Farms soil, do I treat her as a seedling in regards to feeding, as in, no food for a few weeks because there should be nutrients in the new soil. Or do I give her small amounts like 25% strength of vegging nutes and hope for the best? Shes so dang sensitive to feeding Ive developed a complex about it. lol

I think I would treat her as a seedling. While the root system is mostly intact the leaves are young and therefore not ready to handle full strength nutes. I would personally wait a couple of weeks before feeding her nutes and only at about 1/4 of what is recommended. I can't believe Louise came back for you. Now it makes me wonder if I had let my Blue Widow sit for a few more days if she would of re-vegged for me as well.

I just went thru your first journal, not every page but a lot of them and were both Thelma and Loiuse autos?

As far as I know autos are done when they're done so if she does reveg then she might not be a true auto. Real autos should start flowering in 4 weeks under 24 hour light and some of the best autos I've seen are started in big pots and grown under 24 or 18 hour light. I've grown a couple dozen or so but just for breeding purposes so they were pretty small. I now have hundreds of seeds with a couple of nice regular strains crossed with a true auto called Purple Jem. I plan to grow out lots of the seeds to find the best ones that will flower under 24 hour light the soonest then cross them for a couple more generations to get a true auto. Then try to make a femmed version with the colloidal silver I already make.

Thelma was a THC Bomb Autoflower, but Louise, the one who is re-vegging, is called Strawberry Blue and is a photo. I know at the beginning of that journal I said that they were both autos because I thought they were but very quickly I discovered my mistake and there was, by then, no way to change it.

Im kind of a walking disaster. hehe I get stuff wrong, but I say so, when I notice it or am called on it. I have 4 more THC Bomb Autoflower seeds still, but Ill wait to do another of those. In fact, they are my plan B if this reveg goes south.

That clears that up then. :)

Just have to leave her to collect her wits and get on with living.

About feeding as was discussed a bit back. She won't need anything for a while depending on how things go with restarting growing. That FF soild will have enough to see her for a while.

DAILY UPDATE - Day 11 - Louise

Hi yall. For the last couple of days, Louise has been showing her ire at being transplanted, or something. She is looking a bit rough and a lot cranky. *sighs* However, she is still putting out new growth, so I think she will make it. I gave her a gallon of water, hoping to dilute whatever it is in her soil she doesnt like. I didnt put anything in the water. I hope she likes it better now. She makes me worry.

The new growth is pretty much popping out at most every node site. This makes me happy. Now if I could just get her to tolerate her waterings without all the drama, Id be one happy camper. If anyone is listening. I recommend this plant, but I DO NOT recommend it for a beginner.

Here she is in all her pouty glory:

Laters, taters.

I think it would be really easy to water [ er overwater] a revegging plant. Probably it will be pulling about the same amount of water as a seedling with the same amount of leaves.

You have a bigger pot and a decent sized rootball, but the plant can only use as much water as the leaves can pull. . .

Really interested in how she comes along.

Cheers!

Let her dry out completely this time. Try to let her get droopy. I personally find that really challenging, I feel like a negligent mother every time and it wounds me a little, but it's necessary from time to time I suppose. * sigh *

She's popping leaves, so she's gonna do it for you Sorenna. This is so exciting, and I find it humorous that you and Louise are still banging heads ! Hahaha! She really knows your buttons, doesn't she? Just like a real child. LOL!

As long as a re-veggie is showing new growth you're good. The old vegetation slowly wilts away.

She probably wont find it fun when I play a little game with her. Itll go like this: Ill pull off one fan leaf finger.. She loves me. Ill pull off another.. She loves me not. And so on and so forth until she is bald. I bet shell end on She loves me not. lol
