I'm growing a white widowxbig bud currently. I have noticed that they are quite small. I have vegged mine under 1400 watts and I just switched to flower Saturday, and it is only around 2 ft. I vegged for 8 weeks from seed.
Hey Fly... yes I agree... WW is a small lady... Now my ladies have 58 days. I'm cutting the tops in about 4/5 days... the lower buds will be cut in 2 weeks. They are a small variety anyway... they did fatten up but I expected them to be much bigger with larger bids... here some pix of Northern Light and White Widow... Kosher Kush is the highest yielding but I'm not putting any pix of her yet...
Im sorry your grow didnt turn out as expected, Organic Weed. I still thought they were neat looking little girls. Also I think the buds ended up being pretty proportional to the smaller plants so I wouldn't feel too bad. Pantagruel raised a good point in the beginning about stressing the plant. It is low stress compared to topping but the plants still need time to recover and some genetics are more tolerable of it than others. Many growers use the SOG method which calls for no training and maybe this influenced the genetics you were working with. Try to look for genetics that work well with LST.
Best of luck in the future,
