Slylikeafox Promix Soil Cali/OG Kush 70% Sativa - 2018

Feedings were yesterday and today i went to look in on the girls and holy crap.

GC # 1 added growth like crazy.

The other 5 had good growth, but not like GC # 1
If they keep bushing like they are may be an issue getting through the growth Crazy!!

I think this is the time when most Noobys end up playing with the plants to much. Pretty tough to not touch when they are growing well. idle hands and all that haha.

I'm a new grower going with 5 gallon buckets. Can you tell me what the plastic piping sticking out of your soil is used for. Thanks.

Hey Sly, looking nice bro. I am going to post some pics of the two different Cali OG Haze that I got....looks like you got two of the short fat ones. If it is the same as mine she is a keeper pheno bro. check my journal out for the Cali OG pics. I will post some pics in a few more days of the green crack too.
Thanks Island

its funny the 2 Cali and the 2 Durban have shorter fatter leaves than the GC. but all 6 are short and bushy.

So today is the middle of week 2 veg

All 3 i topped the other day are going crazy. all 6 need a bit of LST to spread them out a bit.

I added the bloom switch on one of my LEDs I am trying to see if this will hopefully add a bit of height(stretch) to the plants.

Now for pictures. Love this part!!!!

Hey, I just noticed something you will want to address immediately!!! Any peat cups above the soil MUST be cut to below the soil. This will create a wick effect if you do not. It will affect the root growth.

I plan to just tear the top of the cup off around the plant.

I'm also subbed to watch the result..

here's to another great day of growing.

Today all 3 #1s received 500ml of 1/2 strength week 2 nutes.
All 3 # 2s were still moist from their previous watering.

I am continuing to LST #2s. This are coming along nicely.

So yesterday i turned on the bloom switch on one of my LEDs. Huge increase in temp 82 increased to 87+ and RH dropped to 35-40% compared to the 55-60% i usually have. Also noticed the leaves felt dry and brittle this morning on all 6 plants(heat stressed?). I turned the Bloom switch off for now, but will need to plan for decreasing the temp!!!!

When I run both blooms at the same time i will need to add cooling to my tent.
1. It will bring the temp down which is good, cooler air more RH.

So here's a couple of question for anyone following along.

I had a discussion with a long time grower about watering (he used to grow 100+ plants at a time) He has now retired. I am open to suggestions from all. Here's the gist of the discussion.

I am currently watering my plants to saturation on every watering. they are taking about 3 days between watering. IE. i water on Friday they are ready for water again on Monday. Now my buddy when he grew watered less each time he watered therefore needing to water every 2nd day vs every 3rd day like I do now.

Which method works the best? Thoughts anyone?

Is it better to run with the bloom switch on all the time or run the lights as suggested with only the growth light and then adding the bloom only during Flowering

My opinion, (only my opinion). The longer you can go between waterings the better. You want the roots to have some fresh air. If you water too often you run the risk of roots rotting.

But the bigger the plant, less humid, better draining soil, all will require more watering.

Just don't water too much. It is the one thing most new growers do (yes....I read that too.)

Looks like you have a system that works....don't break it.... :slide:

Looking good in there! What's the saying you can't water too much just too often. One of my biggest problems with needing to feed too often was I had no time off. My hobby was now a job I had to be there every two days. After a year or two it got old. Mainly in the summer how do you camp!?!? Lol

You are correct. I miss stated and said, "don't water too much." I meant, "don't water too often."

Good catch. :thumb:

Thanks man I was just typing to type not to correct lol. Coco peeps water twice a day and get monsters. Maybe there is something to what 100+ said. I feel sorry for him if he was running juice jugs every two days lol. Can u f imagine!!!

It's all good. :high-five:

Yeah.... that is a lot of work...

I'll stick to the easy method..... :yummy:

Thanks Guys.

My buddies were doing this because they were using it to make money so really it was like a second Job to them. The one buddy said he likes to water more often because it helped him focus and spend more time at home.

Me i am doing this so i can have some great smoke that I created myself.

I think i still like my version of watering more each time (saturation) vs having to water every day or every couple of days. Like you said if it's working it can't be wrong.

Stay Frosty Buds.

I'll have a few more pics later, just going to go visit the girls now.

Funny how we are both in the same stage. They all look amazing. Im so afraid of over watering. I use a soil moist meter to play it safe.
