Skybound's Journal

Pineapple Chunk, day 21. I cleaned up under the skirt yesterday. I removed some branches that had some definite bud rot quickly taking ahold. I pray this plant keeps right on trucking as is and doesn't get sick and fall out on me, I need some good chops to get my room built.

she looks like shes coming along I see you had to bend her over I hope you were gentle lol! :)

I must've done this about a dozen times and for the life of me, I can't get it to lay down w/o splitting the branch open. I rolled the branch to crush the tissues inside, but when I laid it down, pop goes the weasel.

Wow bud rot so early. How is that possible?

It has me perplexed. My guess is that because I hardly clean the tower fans due to it being somewhat difficult to take apart, but that aside I'm clueless, but I'm certain it was rot, the leaves turned purple, and retracted, the tiny budlets were necrotic as well. I hope it was just local to the branches and not systemic.

have you taped it up before you bend it might help ive broken a couple in my day that is weird about the rot when I get bud rot its because of a bore worm good luck sky! :)

Bud rot is a product of temp and humidity. The easiest way to insure you don't get anymore is to keep humidity below 65%. Usually, inside, one keeps humidity at or below 50% during flowering stage for that reason. Cheers

It was humid for just a couple of days, but like mid 70% range which IMO should have been not too bad, especially for the beginning of bloom. Thankfully the RH has since subsided. My current rooms I have little influence over the climate. That's one of the reasons I'm building a new room, as it will have it's own mini split AC.

I like to have good air flow. I have a carbon filter constantly drawing in fresh air and a passive intake for it to flow through. It really seems to help with humidity issues

I have a pair of fans and filters always drawing and all my rooms keep a minor but definite noticeable negative pressure, but the downside to my arrangement is that I have all 3 of my rooms ducting merging into a single 6" duct going through the ceiling which diminishes the suction applied to each room. The new room once built will address that, but I'm stuck until then.

I found another young bud appearing to have rot. The pistils never reached out and the majority of the calyxes appear scorched. I snapped the pic and snipped it off and I'm being very proactive in inspecting frequently for any more.

I'm relaxing with a bowl before bed. Work sucks :) Someday it'll all be over :laughtwo:

I haven't "worked" in about 2, maybe 3 years and sometimes I miss it. I have no routine right now and it's ruining me physically and mentally. I'm glad my grow sustained me and gave me just a bit more to reinvest with each chop, but now it's time to ramp it up and hopefully do a lot better. Life feels stagnant and I need some current to get up. Shit, ATM, I'm legit smoking trim, have been as the last 2 rounds were so light I couldn't take any for me, so I've been smoking some PC trim from 3-4 rounds back, lol. I don't mind the grind though. Each round I get to add a new piece to what's coming next and that puzzle is nearly assembled. I have 3 cuts rooting and my first attempt at a soil blend is done "cooking", so as soon as those cuts root, I will toss one in the soil to see if it lives.

I kinda like the trim as the stone isn't over bearing and I feel very chatty. If it was bud in my bowl, I'd probably be rereading something for the umph time due to a wandering mind when reading shit.
