Steady on lads, it's 5pm here & my lights go out at 9pm so you'll have to wait

I do have some pictures of my carbon filter refill though. I ordered 5kg & that wasn't enough, but we'll come back to that.

5x 1kg bags

My filter has hex head Tek screws that hold the end cap so these were removed

A bin bag was put over it & then flipped 180 to empty the used pellets into the bag

Then refill with new activated carbon

Ooops, not enough

How do you reactivate carbon? I use a blowtorch

I've no idea if the blowtorch reactivates the carbon the same as a factory but it burns off the smell & when the flames stop coming from the carbon, it no longer smells like it did & smells like carbon.
When filling, I used a gold panning type action to help the pellets settle, I also banged it on the floor a bit
To get it nice & level on the top, I tamped it down & skimmed it with a matchbox

I'm happy with the ease of doing it but next time I'll buy more carbon, the blowtorching is a pita & it stinks

Absolutely fantastic as always . Your refilling looks like it went well I had fucking tones of dust . It was like sweeping a fecking chimney so have you reused some of the old carbon . Mine was very tightly packed . Good evening every one

Ya Know Skunny that used carbon is great soil & coco additive just rinse & dry in sun
