Sir BongsWorth Silver Back SOG Soil Grow Project

Feeding update:
The girls are looking good. The other sites are starting to catch up with the top nodes. I'm still pinching the top growth every other day. Here are some pictures of these ladies when I pulled them out of the seedling tent and transplanted them to their 2 gal pots.

You mentioned a scrog in an earlier post. Is that still your plan? They are lookin good. :goodjob:
Thank you Mr. Magoo! I do plan on using a scrog, just not sure when I'm going to put it in. I think I want to go another week at the most without. I would prefer an even canopy when I put the scrog up.

Side experiment:

I cut the lowest growths off of four of my Silver Backs. They were looking to good to waste so I decided to do a little experiment with them. After cutting them about the same length, I removed all growth except the top. I then cut my small angle at the bottom of the stem and dipped them in water then my root grow powder (Garden Safe TakeRoot Rooting Hormone). I then planted them in clear solo cups I filled with my water only M3 soil. After all 8 were done, I then put them back into the tent with the other five. Yes, I know the twnt is currently in flower. Thats why I am calling this an experiment. I do not have plans on transplanting them into larger pots as I want to see how they do in just the cups.
**SIDE NOTE**
I have been reading that you can do a SOG grow in just solo cups so I wanted to find out!
Attached are the pics I took while doing this. No topping or other training is going to happen to these little ones. This is just for the knowledge of how you can grow clones.

Im down!
How many plants you reckon you'll need to fill that out when you do your proper run? Im assuming you are using clones of your own strain? I love the sounds of that Btw awesome name aswell. Cant stand some strain names. Green crack UGHH lol
One thing I have not covered was the training I am doing on these five plants. First thing you may notice is all my fan leaves have been removed. I do this to all my veg plants at the end of week 1. Once the nodes I want to focus on develop their own leaves, I remove all fan leaves under that stem growth. I found this method works great in my small setup and gives me my desired effect.
I also pinch the nodes that are even with the top nodes so any others can catch up. I repeat this every two days till I have my even canopy.
The only other thing I did was top these at the 4th node. I will not be topping the real go of SOG method.
Lastly, when I go into flower I will be using a scrog to keep them neat and uniform. Any new growth or little bud sites show up below the canopy will be trimmed off to focus growth all up top.
Here is a picture of my current flower tent. I have two True Kush and two GG#4 in there. On these I did no training or trimming to see what that grow would be like. One thing I did was put a brace across the two main cola stems as they grew above my lights. I will post close up bud pics once I edit them later today.
Ah you just gave me a spark. I completely forgot about the pinch method to slow a top down. To the garden!!!

Thanks for the love! I use the pinch method a lot. As for the name of the strain, it was natural for the crossing of the two strains. All I could think about was a big white gorilla

Yer im a constant tinkerer. Always messing with some form of training or another. Yer man simple but effective

I'm the same way. My second run I did too much training and stressed the plants out. My harvest was smaller than it could of been had I of stopped nit picking everything.

Yer man i feels ya. Ive stunted one of my autos a bit but shes recovering nicely. Should still get a semi decent haul if she continues to stretch nicely for me

Feeding Update:
The girls are looking great! Some even more than others but thats fine. I did more pinching, looks like all is just about even. Expecting to start the scrog next week.
The clones are doing good. No dropping amd they all were facing the light. I know roots are not out yet but I'm sure all will be fine.

True true. Far too blazed for that right now though. Id rather veg, play ps4 and sleep lol
Lol so was I lit up as well. Here is what I found on the subject, enjoy the read

Gorilla Glue is an extremely potent indica dominant hybrid strain with three types, Gorilla Glue #4, Gorilla Glue #1 and Gorilla Glue #5. As promised today’s blog post will be about the three different strains, their similarities and differences. GG #4, #1, and #5 carry a similar flavor and pungent aroma profiles of Earthy, and Pine. Here at Chronic Solutions, the most popular of the three strains is #4.

Gorilla Glue #4 is a multiple award winning superior stain that has been no secret since 2014 after taking the first place podium at Cannabis Cup’s across the globe. Gorilla Glue #1 and #4 come from the same parent plants, Chem’s Sister, Sour Dubb, and Chocolate Diesel. Having no significant difference to #4, #1 has a more flavorful taste and more potent pine aroma.

Gorilla Glue #5 on the other hand carries a strong diesel flavor. The #5 strain is a cross between GG #4 and GG #1 making it a very potent hybrid strain. GG #5 the rarest of the three different strains, is reported to being the most potent strain both exceeding the potency of #4 and #1.

If you are looking for heavy handed effects to treat pain or fight sleeplessness look no further. This strain will leave you feeling Relaxed, Euphoric, Happy, Sleepy, Uplifted, and Hungry. Regardless the # this great strain for treat Stress, Pain, Depression, Insomnia, or Lack of Appetite. Don’t be surprised when any of these strains leave you glued to the couch
