Show Us Your Oddities: The Cool, Unexplained And Unusual!

My second grow is nothing like the first!

Jack Herrer clones that can't seem to decide what to do or when? These are barely a foot tall and have been indoors or in the greenhouse since I bought the plants in early May.

I also have 4 very confused Critical Mass clones. For the gory details, see my latest Journal.

Wow, that's nuts! Otherwise healthy looking, just not normal at all.
Very healthy, and taking off since I put her in the dirt, in the greenhouse. She follows the sun like crazy, too. The top is almost @ 90 degrees at sunrise.

I might just give grafting a try for fun, that looked pretty cool @Weaselcracker I wonder if there is any benefit to pollinating a grafted plant..

I can’t really think of any, other than maybe convenience. At least with the grafts I did it just seemed like having several strains on one stalk. If there were differences in the way the strains grew, I couldn’t really see it.

I’m doing another graft now for colour. A Purple Dream cross, Peyote Purple, Chocolate Mint, and Carnival.

Hey Weaslecracker, did the white buds smoke really smooth?
Ya know - I never tried any. I’m pretty cautious with the indica stuff and mostly just stick with sativas :laughtwo:
I’ll make a note to drag those buds out and take another look at them now that they’re cured and I’ll try a puff and let you know - if I live.

Ha ha ha. I meant to get back to this someday. I did eventually get around to smoking some of that white bud. It had been a long time since I smoked any sort of heavy indica strain, but I figured the white part wouldn’t be very strong. Alas I was so wrong about that. I got paranoid as hell! I’d almost forgotten what it’s like to have life’s minor problems turn into irrationally huge overwhelming ones. Totally ruined my day!

Hehe timing is everything! Cool to hear though. Might have enjoyed it more at a different moment.

Ya I didn’t think so, but I’m planning on doing a pollination on a select few strains this next grow and so I think I’ll throw the grafted plant in there just for fun and grow out one of the seeds I get from it to see if there’s any potential to it or not.

Doing a little experimental grow with a seed from @carcass, which is an autoflower.
I started this one with water from our turtle pond (slider turtles) and some repurposed recyclables. A few inches of soil, on top of some crushed clamshells from our beach, in a 2L bottle. Added an $8 bubbler once the roots popped through the bottom. Once the roots were established, I added a goldfish from the pond (yes I feed him). The plant seems to be enjoying itself so far. Definitely going to be interesting to see what it needs to mature.
