i cant wait for a wet weight and dry weight.... got to find the old scale!
harvest pics will follow of Lucy and ill update on Sandra D in time as she is still packing away

your plant's looking Sweet, not to mention the future Misses' hands, lol. If its okay, i'd like to ask a quick question as it appears I'm about a month behind the "purple people puffer" even though we started prob 'bout the same time.

other than the pistols on the dual singular buds along the main stem @ branch locations, I've yet to notice any change in colorization in pistols on the colas or "branch" buds. Do you have any tricks you employed to speed along the demise of that beautiful orphan girl of yours?

Thx,
John

Very Nice! :thumb:

That is one BIG COLA you got there son! :laughtwo:

Seriously...Very nice looking buds! It is always a great feeling when all that time and hard work is finally about to pay off! :yahoo:

thank you brother!
she has nice dainty hands dosent she...
Color.... i didnt use any tricks to speed the color up.. thats all natural and it literally did it with in the last 2 weeks of flowering. alot of changes happen in the last 2 weeks one is color. though color creates a nice "bag appeal" i generally dont work to cause it (in my home grows, works a different story as bag appeal is important)
There are ways to speed up the color change yet they can also cause stress (Ie. Temp Drop & less light) when you drop your night temps to 69 and below this can cause your colors to change (ive heard about people placing frozen bottles of water next to roots with success, although i personally wouldn't do this as if your roots get to cold your plant is dead)
controlling your environments air is the better way.
now the one thing i DO always do, that i have heard can contribute to more color, is i drop my lights to 10/14 in the last two weeks.
this is two fold.. one it makes the plant go in to "survival mode" ramping up its resin production (in the wild this protects the seeds in a nice little nutrient package until spring) and also makes it finish up faster.
hope that helps answer a little of your question and more!:high-five:

now see didnt i tell you your not the only one with "long Wind-itis"!
i have it "Chronicly"!
glad you joined me for the finish line!:Namaste:

OK... little update!
the Purp Haze aka Lucy has been in darkness for over 36 hrs now.. and is now stinking up the upstairs.... WHEW!!!!! made a getto dry "box" out of .... A BOX!!!! cut a hole and slid my carbon scrub in it, ran some line to hang from and poked some vent holes in the bottom.
turned it on and it pulled the lid closed! Perfect thats what i like to see!
i will be pulling her out of dark at somepoint today and hanging her to dry and will get pics of the process just for fun.
i am working on getting my buddy over with his scale for a wet weight... (mine took a crap on me after it fell of the table....)
On another note... yet having to due with falling from height.... my Vegie garden Literally fell of a 3 story building yesterday.....got picked up by the wind.....
bummer... really kills my harvest this year as i was just bout to get my first really good grouping of tomatos..... ANYWAYS!

still need to get pics of Sandra D for you guys... shes tied to the wall so i havent taken her out for a while but shes quickly passing the size of a 2 litter bottle and moving to Gallon Jug size!
.......
well i think thats all... time for an nice full breakfast of Canna Eggs and Bacon! than i might get to it!

Shaggie, sorry it took me so long to get here, Bro, but great job on the grow and the journal. :welldone:

At least I'm in time to see the harvest & subbed the rest of the way, and as you probably already know from all the "likes" and "reps" from me today, I've already caught up on the whole grow. I'm glad it was only 12 pages and not one of OMM's journals!

I love seeing these 12/12 from seed grows and they always amaze me. I might just have to try a SOG at some point.

Nice job! :thumb:

right ive just joined this forum and i am totaly and utterly speachless to say the least props to ya shaggie mate this is better than porn :bravo: speechless to say the least.................:high-five:

Thanks Shaggie!

The whole harvest and bud drying/curing thing is a time suck to be sure! I let the bud from that BC plant in the contest cure for 5 weeks before I ever took a sample. When you go back and add up the total time investment from seed or clone to your first bowl of cured bud, THAT IS A LONG TIME!!

From start to finish probably one of the most labor intensive crops I have ever grown. Food crops and flowers are cake by comparison!

RE: POTM... The whole thing was blowing my mind, but this "photo finish" style ending is really something! I'm glad I listened to all the folks who had urged me to enter that BC plant into the July contest! I always loved those photos, but with so many great looking plants pictured around here, I wasn't sure what my chances would be. What happened next is just plain AWESOME! :woohoo: Just need to keep calm and not let my BP get too high over the whole competition thing. ;)

From what others have said, there has never been a TIE in that contest, so if N.W. and I managed to end up neck and neck, it will be very interesting to see how they handle that! :hmmm:

Anyway.... Looking forward to see some photos of the harvest your laid out in your reply! Have a great time on the Big Island in the meantime! :thumb:

Cheers. ;)
