:welcome: all you flower lovers, I'm making this journal open forum for all to post pics and gardening tips and experiences. If you would like to share your garden with the 420 Magazine community, you can do it here unless you would like to start your own journal. Even so, you can post links to your flower garden journals here for others to see and visit your journal. Thanks for coming by and I hope you enjoyed the pics. Stop back soon and as often as you like. :thanks:

Hey Radogast, How many Woodpeckers live with you? We use to have 3 living in the back but I think the squirrels ran them off. I haven't seen them in years.

During winter we were seeing 4-5 Downy Woodpeckers, 2-3 Hairy Woodpeckers at the feeders each day.

Now I see a Hairy Woodpecker once or twice a week in the woods. We have 4 Downy at the feeders, they come in parent/baby pairs, right onto the deck while we're are toking and talking. We also see two Red Belly Woodpeckers almost daily. There are more Downy out in the woods that don't visit the feeders.

I saw a Pileated Woodpecker a couple of miles away in early May. They look like prehistoric Pterodactyl.

I love bird watching as well. Around my neck of the woods, we have all kinds. Bald Eagles, Woodpeckers, humming birds, goldfinches, hawks, jays, cardinals, and a bunch more. We also have half a dozen owls nests around the property. Owl Hawk, Snow Owl, Great Horned Owl, Barred Owl, Barn Owl, and a few long eared Owls. There is nothing like having nature all around you!
I think I saw a kangaroo and giraffe yesterday too.....LOL

Lucky you with all the owls. I've seen a wild owl once in my life, but it was dark so more like a shadow of an owl.

This week it it's all about the baby birds. Baby cardinal, nuthatch, titmouse and downy woodpecker.
Today I saw a baby downy land flat on the deck railing. Woodpeckers aren't made to stand on horizontal surfaces. They can't see anything.oSo this baby woodpecker had his chin lifted WAY up with an arch to his neck like a wren or nuthatch. The image totally cracked me up :)

No doubt about it, love nature and all it's glory. I use to live on the river and had tons of wildlife. I had a Mexican stand-off with an owl one night walking home from a party. It was just sitting in the street, the closer I got the bigger it got, it must have been a Great Horned, when it finally took to the air it's wing span seemed to be 6-7'. Scarred the shit out of me.

Hey :420: I'm starting a new grow journal, all are welcome to check it out and follow along. Thanks for your support and interest.
