I hear you on the lack of sun. Mine are only getting 7 hours/day of sun, but lately it's been completely overcast. The lights just can't make up for it.
Any seeds you find will be fems, but a plant that throws nanners will produce seeds with the same tendencies. Doesn't mean you can't use them as long as you keep any eye out in case the next generation goes nanner-crazy!
