Scorpio's Cavalcade Of Horrors With Hempy, Genetics, Perpetual & Much Much More

If you don't know about the Peregrine Falcon......you need to learn. Thats the baddest bird on the planet! Seen one take out a whole flock of pelicans cause they didn't listen to the warning to stay away from the nest. That thing was dive bombing them pelicans and causing them to crash into the ocean.

Fastest animal on the planet too.....can reach speeds upwards of 230 mph. Saw a clip of one hit a snake that was climbing on cliff towards its nest. When it hit it, the snake started to fall.....the falcon turned and hit it again as it was falling down.

Moral of the story....don't fuck with Peregrine Falcons

We have em here... See em in the desert a lot

Nasty bastards...fun to watch the other bird scatter around them

Peregrine Falcon is a great comeback story, in 1964 there were no peregrines east of the Mississippi
due to DDT causing egg breakage. Captive breeding programs changed that and brought them back from the edge of extinction, now NY city has the densest known population of urban peregrines in the world.

I never saw one as a kid until someone brought a few and put them on the tallest buildings in Boston. They took care of some extra pigeons and flourished. Ddt wiped em out here for sure. Hawks and owls and eagles are relatively new again too here over 30-35 years I think.
