Scorpio's Cavalcade Of Horrors With Hempy, Genetics, Perpetual & Much Much More

So far so good

She is droopy at lights on, hope she perks up, been a stressful few days for the poor girl

Water looks good so far, pH is good assss well

Not sure what was the ticket, a good cleaning, new pump, bubbles durring nutes, who knows exactly

Hope she continues the positive progress

Fingers crossed. You have a trip coming up ,right?
Yup, Cali on Tues

So hope she shapes up..lol

Think it's day 15, but she lost some growth for sure

Is this your birthday trip?

Asteroid 2015 tb145 is passing on your birthday. Don't worry, it's super far away!lol.
Yes

11/11 I'm kinda intense...lol..an Asteroid passing makes sense...lol... And very fitting...lol

Kinda looks like me too

Passing by on my birthday, the mother ship, to come pick me up

Baby Haze had a little bit of white goopies, so she is getting a h202 drench now

I'm thinking I'll watch her today and change the rezz tomorrow, maybe today, we shall see

Gotta test my auto system, but not sure I'll need it since she isn't drinking much, maybe one shot at day 5 of my trip

She lost most of her roots so she needs a good stress free few days

Well, it appears we have an answer to my SITUATION

When a clear snot forms on roots in a DWC, and the normal course of treatment for root disease doesn't work, you probably have something called brown slime algae, which actually isn't algae at all, but a cyanobacteria. It loves oxygen and doesn't need light to grow. It doesn't care if your res is chilled or not. Safe levels of H202 slows it a bit but doesn't cure it. It can show up for DWC growers for no apparent reason even after years of successful grows, tho one very common way to get it is to have it introduced by a clone from an infected garden. Having some sort of organic material in the res, especially a sugar based additive, also seems to be a common factor for those infected. Enzyme products like cannazyme feed this slime and cause it to explode. Once it shows up it's often a nightmare to get rid of. It WILL eventually spread to other DWC tubs, although it almost never gains a foothold on older well developed healthy plants/roots.

ive done all I know ta do , and it appears, almost impossible to fix

I'm assuming it came from the soil my seedling was in, only think I can think of

Good thing is, it's not a Silica or nute issue

For shits and giggles I'm h202 in her today and gonna run her in plain water, with h202 over night, see if anything changes

I'll try a new grow when I get back from Cali

Now to decide what to grow next....lol

That's the brown/red slime algae i was referring to. I thought it was that of nitrobacter. H2o2 treatments kill cyanobacteria. I thought it might be that when you said it colonized your stone. There may be another treatment but I would have to do some reading. I don't know if it is safe for food crops.

They talk about some treatment using good bacteria teas, a few items like ZHO and Physan 20, but I don't have anything like that available and no time to get them and it's no guarantee it will work

I'm glad it wasn't the nutes or me, just one of those WEIRDO things that happens

You could dose h2o2 until you get some. Or just nuke from orbit. Start over when you get back.

I'll keep looking for a bit. I have some friends that do aquaponics. Maybe they have come across it and have a safe way to deal with it.

Cyano is a pain in the ass to deal with. In aquariums we starve it running phosban reactors and skimmers. You can't do that in hydro. I would also wonder if your orange bucket and clear airlines didn't make the problem worse with excess light seeping through. You are going to have to sterilize everything. I doubt it was your soil. I am thinking it was your tap with the increase in rain, runoff and disolved organics. I would be going back to 100% RO water after cleaning/replacing things an starting up again. Just my 2 cents.

I have been watching mine like a hawk since your an eastcoast were having issues with slime and PH. I haven't seen anything weird running silica.

Tap sounds good as the culprit, at 500+ppm I'm sure I have alien spawn in it for sure

The clear line is air only, can't see that's an issue, but will need more line soon so probably will get black or blue. Lids I used all last grow, but may look into covering them next grow

I'll for sure bleach everything in the tent and all my tools, pH pen, and measuring stuffs, and soak the air lines in water asssss well

Maybe just a flame thrower, make it fast

Lol
