Day 30 of VEG. Its been 4 days since the last watering and :MoreNutes: . When the pots feel light I will give plane water with a drop or 2/per gallon of unsulphured molasses to feed the micro-organisms.

I did pinch a few more fan leaves off to open up the undergrowth. The lower branches are starting to grow out a little more. There is a very small bit of yellowing at the tips which I am relating to the nutes at last watering.

I was reading and watching reviews on light spectrums :nomo: Not that HPS needs any supplemental light to flower, but... maybe a little more red couldn't hurt. One article was saying how they where not sold on a complete LED grow light system and that maybe the future would be a combination of LED and HPS. It resonated with me so I decided to buy a DormGrow (site sponsor) 90w flower booster.

I'd check out Cofinest's posts if you want to see how he's working with LED. He's a bit like a guru to my way of thinking and he seems to love them. May be worth you having a little looksee (made me change to complete LED). Good luck as ever :thumb:

Cool!

Thanks

:thumb::high-five::bravo::circle-of-love::tokin:Just stopped in to check out your journal plants are lookin good and the grow space will give you some more room to grow bigger plants. I am along for the ride good luck!

Yep. Going to try all 1 gallons to see how it goes at first. Aurora Indica didn't seem to be a big producer last time I grew it. Buds are a little on the fluffy side. Hoping to get 25-30 grams per gallon.

Thanks for stopping by.

Nice room. Can you get the temps down about 10d F? and humidity up a little. Nice place though! Clean!

Probably not but... maybe. Stealth grow. The ceiling is basically the roof of the house so it tends to get hot in this room.

I tried putting a small fan to pull more are from the passive intake. I didn't see to help much.

I do have a 4" fan I could try hooking up to the intake. I was worried that it would make to much noise. :hmmmm:

Back to work

Big ole fan to vent the heat will make the plants love you :) Get all the air you can blowing across them. They will love you for it.

I vent a 4'x8' tent with a 430CFM. and it works for me. (6"inlet/outlet)

I have a 150 cfm pulling are out through 4" ducting. Just hooked up a 100 cfm fan pulling air in through 6" ducting. It is a bit noisy.

I have everything set up to come on at 9am. Will have to get back with you on the temps.

Seed storage up date, tribulations.

I was very proud of myself concerning the Aurora Indica. I had stored them in a diabetic strip test container with rice for almost 2 years. All 5 (my current grow) sprouted and are doing well.

I have several other various seeds that I stored in NON-airtight containers with rice.

I planted a few and none have sprouted. Come to find out my wife has cleaned the refrigerator and set them out several times since keeping them in there. Which is the worst thing for them because it can cause condensation and force the seeds to use there energy.

So I planted all 10 seeds hoping that something lives. I am pretty sure all the blue dream (5) are goners.

I believe Herbies and Midweek Song are sponsors so I will try one of them.

The room is running 79 degrees Fahrenheit 88 to 90 degrees 12 inches below the glass. Small problem is that now the room is + pressure. During flower smells will leak into the house. I could always just run it this way until the smell gets to bad and then take the fan off the intake. Less smell but more heat. Not sure what I will end up doing. Heat has always been an issue with this room secondary to its location next to the attic and roof.

I use a duct fan on the input of my tent. It get plenty of fresh air in but the big fan still does most of the work pulling.

Suncourt Inductor 6 in. In-Line Duct Fan-DB206 - The Home Depot

Thanks for the info. I had looked at these in the past but forgot about them. This would work perfect for the intake. It will free up my 4" can which I plan on hooking up to my filter later.

4" (100 cfm) fan is currently pulling are in which definitely helps keep it cooler. I will replace this with the In-Line 6" Duct Fan-DB206 and then use the 4" with a filter to push are through the light which will help my other 4" fan that is pulling air out for the exhaust.

It would make sense to upgrade to 6" fans but that would mean expanding the 4" hole in my roof to 6 inches. I really don't want to get on my roof and mess with it.

Thanks for the info!

Sounds like you've got it figured. 4" fan should be okay for your setup, but it needs to be running through the ballast. I saw a dramatic decrease in temps once I sealed my hood and the air exhausted through it. Mine looks something like this

Carbon Filter = ducting = Cooltube Hood = ducting = 440CFM Exhaust Fan = ducting = exhaust hole into the next room

Works like a charm and there is ZERO smell in the house through 40 days of flowering.

I am missing the first 2 steps in your set up.

Thanks for the advice

Watered after 9 days:

The vegetative growth of the Aurora is slow and I am tired of watching it veg. So I put them in the flower room today starting with 12 hours of darkness.

Hooked up a G8 90w flower booster. Why? Not sure. I thought it would provide more red light than the HPS. Good/Bad? Don't know. First time with any LED. Well, first time with HPS too :)

It's a sad looking bunch. Leaves are cupped down because of the watering. Minimal training. Aurora is a slow VEG'er and aggressive training slows it down even more. This strain is probably best grown in a see of green style for faster VEG to harvest times.

I am assuming it is bad to look into the LED light directly. Are there specific LED sunglasses? I need to check into that or change the angle of the LED placement.

Thanks and take care :peacetwo:
