Sauga's Got Amnesia But Didn't Forget The Red Dragon

Glad your buddy is ok @MrSauga I've had a few friends pass away from small country roads probably the same that you drive to work, those gravel trucks/farming trucks a lot of times drive way to fast down those country roads because they get comfortable and want to finish their deliveries quick, and your buddy was probably right to turn, the truck was probably just to fast. Also, man those plants of yours :welldone::adore:

Girls are looking beautiful  So very glad your friend is ok it’s a scary situation! I was involved in a similar accident in 2016 and on a country road 55mph down a hill and the cross traffic comes down a hill as well but has a stop sign. The SUV blew thru the stop sign at full speed and sideswiped me I spun about 100ft down the road before I realized what was even happening and was able to regain control of the car and got it to stop in a ditch. All the air bags popped , car was totaled, had a broke finger and bruising that looked like I was jumped but still had my life! Those backroads can be sketchy!

Hey everybody...

just a quick pic update tonight and a little story about my ride into work this morning.
I work in a small town and once I get out of the city it's mostly country roads with little lighting. Every day my buddy and I take the same route but in different vehicles. There's very rarely any car traffic at that time in the morning but you will see the more frequent gravel haulers, the semis. Anyhow as I was driving along I could see in the opposite oncoming lane one of these semi trucks half on the road and half off to the shoulder like he was stalled and tried to move over.
Just on the other side of the trailer as I passed I could see a couple of cars pulled over so I knew it had to be an accident. There were no first responders and the fire dept is volunteer so it takes them time to wake up and get to the firehall to respond which was less than two minutes away.
I made my usual left turn at the crash intersection thinking it might be my buddy but it was so dark it was hard to see. Now I'm less than 1 minute from work and he always gets there 2-3 minutes before me so when I didn't see his car my heart dropped.
I drove back as fast as I could and parked in the lot closest to the accident scene and finally seen the vehicle which was in the snow banked ditch. As I got closer I knew it was his vehicle but I didn't see him around. Now I was 3 feet from his open drivers side door. The passenger door was smashed in and the glass broken, The rest of the car was a mess.
There was a guy standing there about a foot from me and I said... 'Where's the driver?' He pointed to the open car door and said 'right there'. He was just laying there. Part of him in the snow and his upper body on the drivers seat and console I didn't even see him 3' away it was so dark.
Anyhow, nobody was giving him first aid which was probably expected as most people panic in situations like that. He was trying to get out of the car but only got half way before the pain was too much for him. I stopped him right away and within a couple of minutes the paramedics and sleepy firefighters arrived.

His face was bloody, and in shock but I think he snapped out of his daze a bit when he heard my voice. They took him to a hospital and they did several x-rays and ct scans upon arrival. Everything was clean! He didn't break a bone, no head damage outside of the airbag deploying and flying glass causing swelling and cuts... lots of bruising.

He was following a school bus and was getting ready to make the same left turn he's made for years. He says he peeked around the bus and didn't see any lights. Then when he made the turn the truck was right on him. Full force pushed him back 75' from where he came.
Lucky to be alive.

Wow, amazing story....something to talk about at the water cooler today!

Plants are starting pack it and stack it now!
Man that’s scary. I’m glad your friend is okay Mr S... it’s always scary to be reminded of how fragile it all is. It’s important be careful, especially when driving. One wrong move and your life can be irreparably changed. Or even worse, the lives of loved ones.

be careful everybody.

What a crazy and well told story. I'm glad your friend is ok. I was a volunteer firefighter about 20 years ago in my small town we definitely saw some crazy things really makes you have a whole different perspective on things and how quickly yours or your loved ones lives can change in an instant.

Holy moly! I'm so glad it all turned out better than expected. And I'm sure he's glad you made that quick turnaround and were with him while you waited.

Phewf!
Yes he was... I think anybody in that position would have felt a little safer hearing a familiar voice.
Oh, well hell. A little aguardent and he'll be right as rain.

Big fan of Portugal. Spending a couple days there, specifically Lisbon, this summer and looking forward to it. :D
My wife had made some cabbage rolls for him and his family and had them in a tupperware container. The problem he had was he forgot to bring the container back on Monday. Tuesday he had it filled with Portuguese Tarts. They and the container did not survive :rip:

As much as I agree about the speeds, mainly because they get paid by the load these days, he was not going fast. It was probably the thing that spared his life. Coming out of a 40KMH zone on a slight gradient upwards. The bus in front created a blind spot I believe. A little further back and he would have seen it. :thanks:

Yikes Candy!! I can only imagine what that must have felt like. Thank God for air bags and crumple zones. Most cars and their safety are designed from F1 and Nascar and eventually if affordable they get worked into their passenger vehicles

Thanks brutha Von! Do people do that really? Everytime I go to the water cooler everyone leaves so I have no idea.

Hey MrS.
So glad your work buddy is ok.
It's scary stuff and makes you realise how fragile life can be.
Hopefully he will make a quick recovery.

Your plants are looking amazing as always:yummy:

:hugs:

Thanks Momma! Always nice to have you drop in!

Mr. Sauga I am so sorry that you went through that. Seriously what is wrong with people? I am not a Medic or Dr but why can't people try to help? I was riding (Harley- Dyna Superglide) with my gf and she went down on her's. It was the scariest thing I had ever been through where someone's life was literally in my hands. I know people are scared and nervous that they may hurt them more but when you can tell someone is injured doing nothing isn't usually helpful. I think always. Like when I was helping her (I brought her back 3 times) before the ambulance got to us. Before I knew it there were so many people cops etc... and I was still the one doing CPR then until they got the defibrillator set up. She recovered after many surgeries. I guess fight or flight kicks in. It is so scary and life is so fragile. I am glad your friend is on the mend and you are safe.

You have such an amazing following and here I thought I had ya all to myself haha 38 pages!
Give Ms Sauga a little tighter hug tonight. Cherish our 420 Mag fam. Much love to ya all, especially our beautiful gardens.

Thanks for sharing your story Momma. I'm so glad you were there for your girlfriend, if not, it sounds like that story may have had a different ending.

I paid good money to most of my following to stay here and it's costed me dearly, so I hope you can find it in your heart to stay for less :)

Have a great night! :hugs:

@MrSauga you had me at hello

Interesting to see your nute line up and the primo growing medium . Not sure why you made your choices but with your expertise, I am expecting the usual fantastic results and they are looking pretty nice already. Hope they just get greener and thicker.

Primo soil, lol... the nutes were to make up for the lack of what v1 has compared to v2. But I tinker as well as I understand the plants need so it allows me some flexibility.

Man I’m so glad your buddy was ok MrSauga. Life works in weird ways sometimes... sending him some healing vibes
One love
Thanks shotta... I'm sure he's feeling the vibes as he seems to be in good spirits and is looking to get back to work already.
