Sauga's First WW Indoor Grow, LED Style

The turkey bag is just a replacement for jars, I dry in brown paper bags in the fridge for several days before I put them in the turkey bags. I also stick the turkey bags in a 5 gallon bucket with a tight fitting lid. Air is your biggest enemy during the cure.

Hey buddy! Hope you are having a wonderful day. The first plant I took down , which was the larger of the 2, was showing amber even down towards the bottom. Not a lot but just right. Just enough that I knew she was ready. When I went to harvest the second one, I quickly noticed that only about the top 3 inches or so were ready. So I removed the tops of each bud. The remaining still had mostly clear trichomes. I don’t remember how much longer the plant stayed in the tent from that point. I just checked daily. They started hardening up a bit as well. I think it probably increased my yield simply because they felt much more dense when I finally harvested her the rest of the way. When I cut the tops off I just looked for a gap to stick my scissors in as close to the underdeveloped section as I could get. As far as drying after bud washing I believe doc bud says 4 hrs after washing. I left mine hanging overnight and put them in paper bags the next morning. I put about an oz in each lunch size paper bag and in the fridge. I would think 24 hrs drying would be ok too. Mine took 3+ weeks in the fridge before I finally used the rice balls to dry them the last little bit. Now they are in turkey bags at around 60 RH. The smell is starting to get really nice now. I open the bags a couple times per day and they really smell fruity. Each plant has its own unique smell. Pretty cool. I’ll try another joint this weekend but it’s already nice and smooth and potent.

After discussing the bucket with you Penny on kingjoes’ thread, I believe it was, I put my bags in the sealed bucket as well. I think it really made a difference in the changing of the aromas. Either that or it was just at the right time. Lol. Also, greatly reduced the smell in the house which is a plus in my case.

Thanks Penny and Magoo... solid information and once I have done it I won't forget. I was putting the roasting bags and drying the buds as the same thing. I clearly understand now it's a seperate process. I do need to get some paper bags though tomorrow.
Bad time for looking for turkey bags here being Thanksgiving. I couldn't find any at the three places I checked over the weekend. Good thing Junglezon was open today. They're gonna have me some by Wednesday.

Don’t have to burp a bunch of jars either. Lol. Open the bag, give it a couple swooshes, close er back up. I don’t know if swoosh is the right word there....but I do know if you don’t let that first swoosh waft up in your face, you’re missing out!o_O

So the two branches I took off today are relatively dry now after their bud wash. I'm going to do the roasting bag method of drying, so @Derbybud if you wouldn't mind answering a question or two for me. I haven't seen you around here in a while so I do hope things are OK. My question is should these be going straight into the bag now or wait a bit? Do you store the bags in the fridge or just a dark cool place? The rest of your instructions are pretty clear so far. Thanks again.
What are your thoughts of the bud wash since you've done it? Im a little paranoid about washing trichomes off.

It worked good on my test buds. I didn't use the H202. Don't smash them into the sides and don't over agitate them and you'll be fine. I looked before and after and the little guys are still hanging on. Don't forget they had lots of rain, and that hasn't washed them off yet. I was concerned too but it looks good bro.

Lol that initial waft is what I’m looking forward to off of these widows!! Dam stinky girls haha! @MrSauga I think your widows are about a week or so ahead of mine ! I’m almost certain mine will be coming down by mid to end of next week!! But we will see what the trich pictures tomorrow have to say !!

Top of the morning to you mr.Sauga how have you been keeping brother....
I agree bout the turkey bags although I've never tried them but a good fridge cure to start you can't beat the smooth smoke and smell I find.....
But I'm hoping to have a good selection of plants to learn with this summer as I need to catch up with all of ya in the growing department ......lol.

Have a good one and see ya later.....

Glad you could stop by Smeegs... thanks for the advice. I chopped down Mite'y' Girl today, did a bud wash and she's hang drying right now. I'll wait til tomorrow then pack em up in paper bags and in the fridge it goes.
Enjoy your week my friend!

Nice! How was the haul? My runt that was showing a few of Mitey's symptoms (the leaves are getting worse now) is growing bigger buds that the healthy plant lol
I'm not sure what's going on with the WW seeds lately but all kinds of genetic irregularities from what I am hearing and seeing.
I didn't weigh it wet as my time was limited but I'm guessing 1.5 - 2 ounces dry. I knew both the outdoor girls would have small yields and being my first grow I was OK with that. I learned the soil they were in was not hot enough and quickly changed the quads in the tent to FFOF which as you seen is making a tremendous difference in flower production.

How did Mitey turn out! What do you think you will end up getting off her ?
1.5 ounces or so. I only took the big fan leaves off for now as I read somewhere it's better to trim after it's dried. Besides the more I handled it the stickier I got and I felt I was taking all the good stuff off. Man those ones in the tent have got sooo much sugar on the leaves it's amazing. One bud has all it leaves and flowers coated in it. It's a thing of beauty I tell you.

I opened the garage today to get the lawnmower out and forgot I was venting in there. Wow baby, what a smell. You wanna talk about wafting your air, picture your garage door being the opening of the turkey bag!

What's happening on this fine morning/evening gents.... I'm going to have to read up on WW as mine arrived on Friday but not sure when I'll run them yet.... Nirvvana is mine...
But it'll be quad all the way I reckon...lol
Hopefully those beans have better genetics than where mine camr from. Have you tried Nivs beans before? Other than the Widow of course.
Some others who used the same supplier as me had similar issues so hopefully it's contained there.
Of course you know I wouldn't miss your grow on the Widows Smeegs... :peace:
