Sam's Fall & Winter Grow 2018

Thanks! I am having a hell of a time with PH still. I can't get it stable. I am going to drop back and try RO as a base to see if what they are using in the local water source is what is causing it to climb like it is. I am getting tiered of battling it every day. If I can get that set everything else is good. If not than back to AN. It still climbs with their nutes but not as fast or as drastic.
I heard that, I've not had any problems at all since I switched to Go. Now when I first do a rez change it will climb some but after about an hour I will check again and readjust if needed then it's good all week. It could be the water I guess, be interesting to see how your pH does once you switch to ro.✌️

Just checked both the res and the RO bucket this morning and it rose a little but not as much. I adjusted it and will see where she sits when I get home form work tonight. The test AN bucket sitting next to it is fairly stable. I will figure it out it's just acting a little different than the normal coco mixture that doesn't sit as long.

I noticed this last year when the temps up here dropped. It's just a forensics game now. I am probably also being a little to picky and the DWC is new to me. With all the help I am getting here I am confident I will get it straightened out.

Oh yea you will get it lined out. I’m having a little issue with Ms Chem right now also, a couple more leaves showed up showing slight calcium deficiency. She is a heavy eater and I’ve been adding ph water mostly through the week, my ppms dropped down to about 450 last week and I’m thinking I need to add calmag to my top off water and also not let my ppm drop that low before adding nutes back. Hopefully that will solve my problem.✌️

That is strange, I never ran calmag with GH and no issues at all, strains will be strains...lol

Having a bit of pH flux with my seedling tub, but it's pretty light nutes, good thing NO GOOPIES!!!!

Fun Fun Fun

I had to use calmag with dynagro also in flower, my tap must not have hardly any. I’ve been researching a little bit and have found several growers that had to add calmag back to their top off or they got calcium deficiency so I’m hoping it fixes my problem. She’s eating like crazy, I’m feeding full strength and she’s still dropping ppms pretty fast. I change Rez on Sunday and it was 980ppm and by Wednesday it’s down to 650ppm so she has to be eating good, my ph has been rock solid.✌️

She rebounded and is getting flipped. I will pick away at some leaves here and there but I don't want to slow her down untill after the stretch. It shouldn't be too much with her lineage.

Great looking plant Sam! Well done my friend!

I think I have it figured out. The RO water is holding so whatever they do at the water treatment plant this time of year causes the PH down to be temporary. Funny this grow the tap is testing 7.5 while the other grows have been 7.0. I am also realy close to the main water treatment plant so that may also play into the game.

Man she is really eating a lot. My ppms only swing a little bit but she is a small plant compared to your behemoth chem girl.

Thank god you got that one figured out. That cyano is nasty stuff.

I'm just glad, it appears, Baby Haze is gonna survive it all

She is a tuff wench

Do you ever have any plants that are not put to the test? I have to laugh at the way some people baby the crap out of their plants and they struggle. You kick them, rub their nodes in dirt and generally make it hard for them and yet they pull through. :D

Great looking plant Sam! Well done my friend!

Thanks Van. This DWC is causing me to pull what left of the hair I have out trying to get the PH thing squared away. After breaking a main branch trying to tie the wench down I was wondering if I would have much of a plant to flower.

Based on my mathing skills you still have 3/4 of the plant left to flower! And those 3/4 will now split 100% of the nutrients only 3 ways instead of 4.

This is also known as the power of positive thinking!

I know, i know. My glass always seems half empty. I don't mind though. Never being satisfied fuels motivation to try harder next time. I think if I would have vegged with one light I would not have built up such thick, stiff branches early on. She might not have snapped so easily then. I have never called this anything but an experiment so we shall see how it all turns out. I might just get to try some WW bud for the first time. Thanks for the positive spin on things Shed. Must be the weather out there that keeps you positive. :)

She looks great sam excited to see the growth on her in flower ! My 2 WWa couldn’t have been further apart from smells to growth patterns! Both turned out well though for my first so I’m excited to see how the photo WW goes in your DWC!

Keep it up my man!:passitleft:

Update for 11-23-2018. The large tent is 27 days since the 12/12 lighting switch. The girls are eating/drinking a lot now. The each are getting 1 1/2 - 2 gallons a day split into two feedings. AN PH perfect Coco A&B + Big Bud + Silica Blast + CalMag 700ppm. Tent temps are 70-76 average. RH is running in the low 40's.

Things were getting a little out of control in the big tent and it was time for a thin out.

First up is the Sour Diesel.

Next up is the Amnesia Haze. She had a funky start but she is doing great now.

The Raspberry Cough. This is a tough plant. Bushy, lots of foliage to contend with.

And the Blue dream. She is trying.

Everyone is tucked back in the tent not to be bothered for a period of time. :)

On to the White Widow. I flipped her light schedule last Sunday so she is only on 6th day since the flip. My PH issues seem to be gone since running RO as a base in the reservoir. GH floral Trio now with CalMag in transition ratios at 730ppm PH 5.8 and the temps in the res are 74-76f. Tent temps are 75-80 with the RH 40-45.

Yup. I ate too much yesterday and no work until Monday. :)

4-day weekend! :yahoo:

Nice job thinning those beasts...it was getting to be a jungle in there. They're stacking well and I'm glad that RO water is making a difference. It's got to be a pain in the ass chasing pH around in DWC. The tripod looks great!

Enjoy the time off Sam :).

Thanks Shed. I wish the weather was better but I will take the lazy days.

The PH thing can be a major PITA. Something changed drastically in my tap water. The ppm's now are in the mid 200's right out of the tap. The RO stabilized it quite a bit. It is holding rock steady now. I will have to keep ant eye on the coco girls for any change there. I don't want to have to run RO for them.

This is an observational question, but is 200ppm a low number going into flower for DWC? I feel like I've read a lot higher numbers from folks here.
