Salt N Pepa: Back Again

HELP!!!

So i go into the room this morning smoking my morning bowl with my beauty and while inspecting i found root aphids!!! Which makes sense since ive been thinking ive had a root deficiency... I added Diat earth the last water cycle and when i went to water and inspect today there were more and now their moving around.... Ughhhhh i picked GSC because the breeder said they were a better pest resistant and plant disease resistant.... Im gonna cry. When reading how to deal with them it says toss plant and everything bleach and start over.... Do i really have too?? Please help im so nervous
 
I got a jewlery loupe today... Lol with the aphids im searching every bud spot.

This could still work out for you. Remember that being "pest-resistant" doesn't mean that the plant can magically guarantee there aren't pests. Rather, it means that the plant can handle pests well.

Let's hope that's true!
 
Ohhhh well that makes sense.. They wont get onto the buds will they? Im sad this was probably going on before i left so its been weeks not being delt with. I just saw the eggs and top layer this last weekend so i just kept assuming deficiency. At least on a plus it wasnt my lack of nutes.... I wanted to start 3 more plants this week but im gonna do my best to hold off and clean really well before i put something back in... I normally just do a good wipe down with soapy wash cloth but looks like its gotta be a bleach job... I want to reposition the tent anyway...

Next dumb question of the day... If i add that d earth with the soil when i start a new grow will the plant be ok? Like if i do a good mix of it and then use that when i put the peet pallet into its forever pot? That way the soil has it blended in
 
OK so I would do two things for prepping the mix for your new grows:

1. Pre-soak the mix with the hydrogen peroxide solution once you've got that stuff - this will nuke any eggs in the mix

2. Blend the DE into the mix; it causes no harm to your plants whatsoever, no matter the stage. In fact, blending it in is the most effective way to use it!
 
Hopefully the next run will give me big beautiful plants... I know so much can and will happen during the first grow but its like a sledge hammer when its everything.. Ive dealt with everything from a herm to a pest infestation. I just hope i have something to harvest. Im excited for the trainwreck and northern lights× blueberry as well as the amnesia i wanna start them right away but i really dont want this to be a thing so im gonna wash the room up before i start again..
 
What do i do if neither of them are working? I put the hydrogen peroxide solution 1 part to 3 part water saw the white stuff fizz even saw the dirt move around. Then waited pulled out the loupe and saw the bastards walking around i even had a nice layer of the d earth on the top layer of soil... I think theres even more now:nervous-guy:

I’m no expert but I’ll put money on glitter and not eggs!

I am sooooo jelly you have worked out the loupe and I haven't chick!
 
MWG you might have to give it a day or so to see if it worked. Unfortunately not a lot more you can do for now!

The next level of escalation might be an insecticide like Spinosad, but I have no experience with it. Might be worth doing a bit of homework on that!
