RQS Hulkberry Auto And Royal Haze Auto Round 2

Still no sprout from my hulkberry plant. I'm going to toss that pot in a few hours I think. I just put a humidifier in the tent so I'll wait and see if a bit of extra humidity will help it pop. I'm not holding my breath. The other hulkberry looks stunted and is still very small, I hope she starts to get growing soon. The royal haze seedlings are looking good though and trucking along and working on sending out their second set of true leaves. My tent conditions have not been optimal the past week though based on my grow hub report, so I'll have some work to do on getting my environment dialed in.

When a new set of leaves pops out I'll post some more pictures, until then thanks for hanging out!
Cheers! :roorrip:

This grow is officially a three plant grow now. After an extra day Hulkberry v2.2 did not pop and the pot has been removed from the tent. Hulkberry V2.1 is definitely showing signs of being stunted as well, so I'll need to keep an eye on that one too. Pictures of two week old plants to come later in the week.
Cheers! :roorrip:

as promised here are my seedlings, all about two weeks old from sprout. One of my royal haze plants has rust spots forming on the first set of true leaves, and my hulkberry is looking stunted and the cotyledon leaves are yellowing prematurely. Other than that all is well lol 😅

I have added a humidifier to the tent to try and raise my RH as its starting to dry out where I am as it gets colder, the tents did not like the weather change without supplemental humidity, I'm wondering if that was the root cause of my second hulkberry not popping.
Thats all for now, thanks for stopping by! Cheers! :roorrip:

I'm starting to wonder if its too cold in this tent for these young plants. The conditions currently are 67F and 41% humidity, even with a dedicated humidifier in the tent. These are suboptimal conditions for plants that are about three weeks from sprout I think, but I'm not sure how to fix it. My "lung room" is an unfinished basement, and its currently 34 degrees F outside. My light is running on the vegetative spectrum and is set to 75%

19 Celsius is pretty cool. Is there anything you can use to get the temp up?
I use a heat mat in my 2x2 tent and it raises the temp in there a couple of degrees.

The only heat mat I have is in use for germinating seeds for the hempy grow. I could look to see if I can find a heat mat though. The one I have for the seedlings is 10"X20.75" so I'd assume I'll need to look for a bigger one, my tent is 32"X32"

That's the same size as the ones I use.
I use one in the 2x2, and I've used two in the 2x4 before.
Is your tent right on a concrete floor?
Concrete seems to suck the heat right out of it.

I was actually able to find 20"x20" heating mats that I grabbed. They were cheap so I grabbed one for each tent. I'm assuming the hempy tent will need it too. Yes I am on concreate and I didn't even thing about that, I wonder if putting the entire tent onto a piece of insulation foam or something like that would be beneficial

Even putting some boards on top of something like bricks or something sturdy to keep the cold floor from contacting the tent. When I grew in my garage, the pots were set on top of a pallet.

I had a piece of insulating foam that was big enough to put the three plants on inside the tent, I don't have anything big enough to raise the entire tent though

This is something I'll keep in mind for my other tent too

I found a space heater and was able to put that in the basement with the tent and it seemed to help last night. The previous owner of the house left some ceramic floor tiles from a not finished home project that I'm going to use under the tent to get it off the concrete. I also found some old foam floor mats that I will lay on top of the tiles but under the tent. Between those changes and the 20"x20" heat mat that is on the way I'm hoping that will be enough to keep the plants happier at least until they get a bit bigger and I can turn the light up to add some more heat in the tent.
I got my status report from my growhub for this week and its better than last week but still not where I want it.

The three girls shared a gallon of 6.3 ph'd water with a tsp of calmag today. I figured they were ready for a real watering being three weeks old at this point.

Watered the plants again today. The pots felt pretty light and the medium was dry enough. The three plants shared a gallon of water with a tsp of calMag and a full dose(6 tsp) of big bloom. The royal haze plants look good. One is a bit of a mutant but is keeping up the pace with growth. The hulkberry plant is getting one more week to shape up or its going in the compost pile, I don't want to waste time on a plant that will not perform. I'm hoping that the big bloom will help give it whatever it needs right now, but I'm not holding my breath that it'll make it.
Anyway on to pictures.

Hulkberry:

Still small and still a bit yellow. I see what looks like the next set of true leaves coming in but it is not instilling confidence

Royal Haze V2.1

This is the best looking plant out of the bunch so far, nice green coloring and normal looking leaves

Royal Haze V2.2

Keeping up in height with the other haze plant, but obviously mutated. The leaves are long an narrow with slight twist to them, but its also pushing a second set of true leaves so we'll see how that one progresses.

That's all out of this tent for now.
Thanks for hanging out! Cheers! :roorrip:

Hi there :)

Your soil looks very dry to me. I always find seedlings need daily/second daily watering. I use a 10mL syringe. Their roots aren’t yet strong enough to search for water. Well that my opinion that you didn’t actually ask for lolling.

Hey 👋

You're not wrong, those pictures were from before watering, and I have had a bug problem recently so I've been probably overzealous on letting dry back happen, but I'll have them on a more normal watering schedule now. I went into the tent today and noticed the pots were pretty dry again. So I watered each plant with 3/4 gallon of ph'd water with a tsp of calMag and the recommended dose of big bloom(aka worm casting juice). The plants are about three weeks from sprouting now so I figured it was time to give them some veg nutrients.

I'm always open to help, I want to grow the best plants I can and as evidenced by the issues in my past grows I still have a lot to learn so no worries on "unsolicited" help lol
