To chime in here lol I can say without doubt my LED is kicking hps out of my memory! !! Already I can tell its surpassing all other grows I've done. No contest one bit lol The density is just stupid on my little bonus auto. The frosting is coming along on my others and they just hit flower! Ill crush the numbers I'd get with my hps!

Trich, as for distance from panel bit. Its justbso the diff spectrums have room to mix

Also Renegade, I'm in same boat lol ill get my upgrades before this run is done! Ill wait though before using it as I want to show what the base model can do! The God series will be for my solo monster!

What watts were you using though LA? I know you didn't have much.
Say a 5x5 tent with 1000w plant master bulbs in a Predator hood, co2 system, air for flowering. The same but dial down the watts & use MH for veg.

Against a KIND LED panel, it wasn't even close.

I'm not doubting you bro w/ what you got going. Hell, you're the wiz of oz my friend.
BUT, have you had an awesome HID setup as compared to this top of the line LED stuff. You probably have, just not here. But, your ingenious methods leave a faint whiff of a man shackled by situations, including shitty lights, that needed to adapt the plant to his equipment, space, ect. & that was your point of departure into talent Mon amis.

thanx LA, I am very embarrassed now and if I had thin skin I would be humiliated, lol. thick skin allowed me to write that, in hopes of someone taking my bait,and jumping in. It's a barb-less hook, I'm sure you got it out with minimal blood loss. I will now EDIT my post, so I am only seen as the underLEDeducated that I am so proud to be, by the posters above, lol

thank you cajuncelt, I have recently verified exactly what you shared above. It's great that LED technology keeps getting closer & closer, to catching up with HID bulbs, I don't see LED catching up to, or surpassing HID bulbs before 2020.

I will keep hoping that LED, can do it sooner.

Nope, getting there quick though. Those new Kind fixtures are spooky cool.
But, again, against 1000w good bulbs like Ushio, plant master, whatever, just quality. All through a REAL digital ballast in King Cobra hood or Raptor?

Yep in previous times I've ran 1000 hps , also I have many visits to my pals commercial setup under my belt. He runs topline hps systems on a huge scale.
Your right though buddy, my styles were born from fitting rnd my old 400hps and ghetto grow space it just seems to fit with LED really well. Ill simply get far more weight through the light penetration and the density of the crop!
I'm just being honest that hps is now being beaten back in my mind!

In this news a certain big boy grower friend of mine on here is soon to be getting a BM God series also and he will be running his other banks using well known top shelf HPS 1000 watters!
You all know hime well I'm sure so soon you will all get a detailed exacting grow off on 420!

You know how I admire you my old friend, but we'll have to agree to disagree.
Had a cancer compassion tour if you will to some commercial grows. Lots of LED talk & comparison grows. LED didn't do quite as well. That being said, for our small stuff, I'm waiting to see still. Yours is awesome, but you could grow w a flashlight.

As for me....I only have LED to compare with and now grow to grow.

As for the new toy...patiently waiting for it to arrive before letting the cat out of the web, I mean bag....LOL.

The space required between the LED light panel and the canopy is for 2 reasons.

1) To allow proper distance for the individual LED spectrum lights to blend together.

2) To allow enough distance from the LED light panel for heat dissipation.
