Good Morning Weed to You Jaga ;)

what's up les spring is in the air:high-five:
:high-five:

Good morning to everybody. Nice to meet new people and I too will be following along as my grow will also be outdoors. I can't wait to get going in the ground.

I'd like to ask something about this grow; isn't is difficult to get the plant out of a clay pot without breaking up the root ball or do you wait till the pot fills with roots before moving it?

Good Morning :) Welcome to the Grow :welcome:. About the transplanting, yeah - I wait until the root mass occupies the entire pot, and then I hold the plant upside down with the palm of my hand at the base of the plant, based on when I last watered it, the root ball will slide right out with gravity and go directly into the new pot.

Hows it growing Lester,,,man you are going to have to build an extension to old every one :cheertwo:

Will be updating today :circle-of-love:

I have a question for you lester i had heard that its illegal to grow directly in the ground. Is it just some countries or is it just here and there that dont allow to grow in the ground. I was planning on putting one in the ground but didnt cause i heard its not legeal and thats why everyone grows in those big ol sacks.

This is actually a pro-growers trick in the ornamental industry. We wait to plant up the "color bowls" until the plugs are alllllmost root bound and pot it larger. The roots JUMP out of that ball, but you do have to time it just right so not one root hair gets disturbed. I also like clay because of the air exchange capacity.

Howdy RL, would not miss it. I have the admin.`s get on me about my photo`s............and what is this?????

Good morning Lester! Already on page 4 around here. I think that makes two hyper speed journals I can think of right now (looking at you Trichomes ;))

I find that transplanting works best your way as well. Just did 3 yesterday and it makes it so easy to have the root ball just pop out. I also think you see a jump in growth right away if you didn't wait too long. Timed just right it seems the plant is just waiting to jump into all the new soil.

What a great place to hang out! Oh and Beemer, put that lounge right over here, the sun is just right and the cat is happy.

Bob ;)

As I have a day off and and spending time with my ladies; I can not help to wonder one thing. How come (referring to ...I think pics 3-5) you don't remove the older, yellowing fan leaves? I know you are a purest and am not arguing that philosophy.

We have polar opposite styles of growing. That's why I'm asking-personal learning and what not. I'm just saying that I'd rather remove a yellow or yellowing fan leaf that is blocking calyx formation verses growing a huge bush o'leaves.

My question is not out of disrespect towards your method/methods. I've just been on the defol band wagon for quite a while. Works for me.

To each the same. I love your pics. I love your attitude. Not sure if you are interested, or have been offered, but I really think you deserve moderator status. Just my two cents.

I don't believe it's illegal to grow it directly in the ground, but the plants typically get harder to control the size, and hence yield more. But even though you can be in the legal limit, if the plants yield far far above what is logical than there might be a problem. James the Green was in his limit, but his plants were so damn big and the yields were so high, they forced him to chop them down anyway. I grow in 7gal. containers because I find they give me the appropriate sized plants for my backyard.

Hi Les I'm along for the ride I want to see how Dogget and Simpson perform for you. Good Luck:peace::circle-of-love::high-five:

Indeed, kinda depends on the plant though. For my re-vegetating pepper plants, they'll get repotted each year and so I prune the root ball and trim up and loosen the root ball to encourage new growth. But definitely in the case of newer growing delicate plants I try not to tango or disturb the rootball at all. I like the clay pots too, they're aesthetically pleasing to watch the cannabis grow in. :MoreNutes:

Couldn't of said it better myself Bob :) Sun is just right and the cat is happy.

Howdy Josh, I only like to remove the dead and yellow fan leaves if they come off when I give them a slight tug downward (where its attached to them stem). If they show resistance to this, than I know they are harvesting the stored energy in the leaves and using the energy, and I won't rip them off with force. These plants aren't too big and bushy, so air flow isn't a problem. I'm letting them suck out as much energy from the fan leaves as possible before I have them removed. Even though the end of the leaves are dead and crispy, there is still some energy to transfer from the actual stems on the leaf which is why it's not coming off easily. One can say, "Well, wouldn't the dead and dying leaves attract pests and mold"? Maybe it's possible, but not really. On the flip side, by "wounding the plant" one can argue that it can make the plant more disease and bug prone, and even mold prone on the pruning site. I think I'm getting a little deep here, but the general real answer is that it's just a part of my "relaxed attitude" :) Everything is case-by-case. :peace:

Weekly Update
Things looking pretty decent in my neck of the woods, the Blackberries responded well to their bat guano, and the KC-45 runner ups are making good progress, two of them are starting to flower already, probably going be a lot smaller plants, hopefully the phenos come in compact. Still not overall impressed with the flowers but hey they are something and they smell mighty good so I'm happy. Really stoked to grow the Blackberries now....here are the pictures, enjoy!:Namaste:

Nice update, no offense but that airy pheno KC-45 has hash bin written all over it ;) and i like how you use the word 'cola' for it lol.

The other one might have some potential though.

Your photoperiod babies are taking off though, be monsters by end of summer. Are you bringing them under light at night to make sure not start budding? or not needed at your latitude?

Yeah indeed, probably gonna put mostly the entire plant in the magical budder machine and take what flowers are decent for the vape. The compact one does have some potential, at least for a decent sized sample  About the BB's: No, I don't take them inside under lights or any of that jazz, they're at home already :) I presume they will vegetate to decent size and then begin to flower, when that happens I'll make sure they don't reveg by force flowering. I'm not really worried :surf:

To add, I am hoping for all of these plants to be done by the beginning of summer (although that may prove to be a tough one). :hippy:

Have you used the Butter Machine yet? Sorry if I missed a previous report.

Not yet, haven't quite had the time or material to run it yet. But I am definitely planning on giving this thing a whirl in the near future. When I do I'll be sure to post the results. :Namaste:

Yes I am curious as well. Buying the machine just seems like to much to make butter but those bake goods could recoup the cost but most people just want their pot they dont have any idea of the art.

Beautiful outside shots. Must admit that I am so jealous of gardening outside at this time of year. I guess I just have to live vicariously through you, trichomes, lebgrow and Norcali. etc.

I just keep telling myself that summer will come. Then it will be

And what kinda joke could I possibly make outta two bugs "hitching a ride" as it was so delicately put. Is that a new euphemism the kids are using these days? "Hoping to hitch a ride with that new gal in town" Nope, I will leave that low hanging fruit to the crude comedians! Oh wait, that's me.

Now that I have my second wind from the work week Lester, I'd like say I love to see a good outdoor grow. It's my Grow Dream.
Great Photo Shoot. Even the airys look good.
