Move somewhere where it is legal? just an idea

well i would but not a lot of call for a guy who doesn,t have a diploma of any kind.Plus im from missouri and aint no leavin. My family was born and raised here,my roots are to strong. If i could find work that requires my certain skills and didn't have to take a urine test i would. It will all work out.:rollit:

The first couple days will be hard. You'll likely have trouble sleeping and may be irritable. Plus you'll constantly be thinking about smoking weed. After about a week your cravings will start to disappear, and after 2 weeks you'll be fine living without it. Just take it one day at a time, before you know it you'll go a whole day without thinking about getting high.

i'm quittin too man, we can start a Potheads Anonymous. lol. nah but just think of it like this... quitting now will do many things for you. first and foremost, you'll begin the cleansing process needed to pass drug tests for important jobs and otherwise. you'll no longer be doing ANYTHING illegal and won't have to worry about gettin busted everytime you see a cop. and although you may very well stop forever, an added plus is that one day you might be able to smoke again... all this time you have spent without you have been losing your tolerance, so smoking will be a whole new experience the next time you do it! dont spend any money on it as was said, stay away from people that are smoking, ask people not to talk about smoking around you, and even begin exercising. there is a runner's high ya know. i need to start doin all these things as well.

I had n idea that pot was addicting, hmmmm, I may need to rethink things. Being an piss tank this shots my theory to shit, lol

anyways , peace

nah its not addicting, but its a habit... and most habits are pretty hard to break, especially if theyre enjoyable as much as smoking weed is!

I've quit many times during my years as an old hippie pothead.

My times of abstinence have ranged from several months, to a couple years, to the last break which lasted 15 years.

That long dry stretch was the result of a conviction for cultivation, and it effectively knocked getting high right out of my lifestyle.

If, during a time of abstinence, I took just one hit, I would be "hooked" again and launch into a new cycle of smoking.

Recently I got a medical authorization, a half ounce, and pipe.

Since my first toke a couple of months ago, I have acquired a bunch of pipes, a bong, and a vaporizer.

I have also gotten my grow equipment together and am about to launch into my first crop in 15 years.

I'm back, and I'm loving it.

bo man 420, if you want to quit, you can. It's as simple as that. It's not physically addicting. It's really not that psychologically addictive, either. While it can provide a better quality of life in many ways, with a clear head and a sober mind you'll be surprised what you can get accomplished. Embrace the change, the new way your body feels, that clear eye that looks at you in the mirror. Best wishes on your new future.

Your state is talking decriminalization. So if you do stay in Mo. you may be able to toke up anyway. And somewhere in southern Mo. west of springfield is a small town that went ahead with a mmj program. Don't quote me on that though. I had read somthing about it though. And you think your bumming, I have to quit for the same reason for a job. I have been smoking non stop for 35 years. With a 10th grade education it has been tuff for me to get a job also.

thanks keninpain.wouldn't be so bad if my family hadn't took my inheritance and sold it all.i worked a total of 15yrs for my grandfather and after he passed away everybody got counted but me.he used to tell me stick with it it takes time, and you will get what you deserve.wrong.my cousins that are younger than me got 20,000 a peice, property and cattle, i had taken care of for the last 5yrs my grandfather was alive.i got a pat on the back and a boot in the ass.our company installed state approved septic tanks,so my first 7 years i waded in,worked in,fell in ,and even had it thrown on me.sorry its a sensitive subject so i rant about it,my bad.thanks for the info on misssouri keninpain.:welldone:

No problem on the info. It was all pulled from 420 magazine threads. That sucks about your family, I have nothing to look forward to from my family either. were all poor to the point of poverty due to the economy. But at least you have a skill to fall back on, even if it is working for someone else. And as far as quiting smoking just look at it as a priority thing. And when the situation is right and you have your new job, you are really enjoy that first big rip off of a thumb size hooter that puts you to sleep before it's even finished. :yahoo:

well, at least old fogies with bad backs are helped by using pot. after all, those bad backs come from working all our lives. we earned them. my hubby was on prescription pain relievers and that just about killed his liver. natural is much better.
good luck with your quitting pot and finding a better job! think of it this way, some day you will also be a retired old fogie with a bad back and then hopefully the cops won't bother you anymore.

You know if it s piss tests and thats all you are worried about....fake piss works cost like forty a test, if they are random you can roll with rubber bands, digital therm., hand heaters and whity tightys, if they send you somewhere there are always convinient store microwaves, you can stay at the testing place as long as you need to let things warm up....its a pain but it does work...as long as it dosnt stress you more than its worth

Well an update is here.Went and filled out an application turned it in and after all the work and fuss of quitting they said they were not hiring until the end of the year.Is there anybody out there that needs a pot smoking, backhoe operating, dumptruck driving, dozer operating, high school drop out?Been doing it for 15 years but with out a diploma you get snubbed alot.Tried to take the ged but that turned out horrible, lol.I may not know alot about school but i can landscape install state approved septic systems, yet when i say i haven't got a diploma i get looked over. The only reason i quit school was to take care of my wife and kid.I went to work for my grandfather running heavy equipment that was supposed to be willed to me but the rest of the family didn't like that. Because i smoked pot I WAS NOT SMART ENOUGH TO RUN THE EQUIPMENT,but now when my grandfather was alive it was fine.I would love to be able to leave this town and go somewhere were weed is legal and my family is thousands of moles away.Any suggestions,im at my whits end here.

Hey bo man 420, You talked about not getting a job with out that education. I had the same problem until I got that GED. I quit school in 10th grade and didn't go back for my GED until I was in my mid 30's several years back. lol I passed with help from the local school in my town. Maybe you could look into something like that in your town or area. Cause I am telling you by first hand know how, it wont be any better any place else in the U.S. That GED goes a long way when it comes to the employer he see's you are willing to stick with something. At least thats what I was told at an interview. I would recommend it before you go anywhere soon. and it ensures success to be in your favor for you do finally get the f*** away from whats is troubling you the most. Also I don't want to sound like a dick, but running blind from your problems never ends with success. Get your priorities in line first, then make your move. Good luck and keep me posted on how it goes. :peacetwo:
