Hey alk,nice co2 thingy , after seeing your results with the recur top feed from sog.
I have now switched to one and am on my 2nd run and loving it , must say I have had a few fuck ups ,but they looking mighty fine now in 13 day of flower. Might have some pics this week if you want to see .
What I want to know is how was th h&g shooting powder I have heard it makes it a less potent smoke .
And did it increase yeilds

tbh mate i didn't see a big boost in size at all... could be because i was using it with the flairform range and not the other house and garden line.. *shrugs* but for the price i wouldnt recommend it.. but i dunno, if i persevered with it maybe i could get it to kick in hard for those last 3 weeks.. it certainly makes the reservoir jump up a few EC/CF levels tho! i'll just stick to what i know.. can be risky sometimes fucking around with different nutes, you can lose time.. lose on yield etc etc .. all good if you got room to run an comparison and experiment a little. just my limited experience with it bro.. others might swear by it! and regarding the potency thing? im not sure about that mate, i personally havent heard that and im not sure how that could happen?? it's just a high P and K flowering booster basically.. im not sure how higher P and K could make the potency to drop like that.. an interesting question though

hoping to get 5oz per girl (gotta feed my kids).
any advice is always welcome especially seen we are running almost identical systems.

yeah i LOVE the flairform range myself, been using it for a couple of years now too and like you say, ive never had ANY issues with nutrient deficiency ever. i really dig the Grostorm and Budstorm additives- grostorm in probably one of my favourite additives- high brix, full of goodness. their pythoff product is pretty good too.. it smells alot like chlorine though but it seemed to be a good nutrient conditioner, plants didnt seem to mind it

yeah bro, i hear ya with the sprinklers, although i never got blockages from salts with mine but the occasional debris from the clay hydroton, ive experimented with making various rings, from fewer holes but larger diameter to more holes and smaller diam. tried them in a similar configuration to the 'halo' too, which i find to be a great ring but unfortunately sog don't sell the smaller halo rings here in my location to fit the 'my buddy' kits.. i dunno about your location though.. plus they are on ebay for good prices.. and it's easy enough to make our own for a shitload cheaper

bro, your plants look awesome! that should prove to be one helluva fine canopy of colas toward the end of this run! looking really healthy and happy, nice job with LST and opening them out- they looking very happy indeed and im really liking your hoods too bro! very nice! with my tent heat is the major issue and that is something ive been looking at for a while now, the air cooled hoods that is, but for the time being i picked up a light mover off the big auction site and was able to drop 1-2 lights.. 3x600 in veg to just 1 and from 3x600 in flower to 2.. although my last grow i used just one for the most part.. that light mover has made not only a HUGE difference in reducing heat and the moving light is great to hit different angles of the plant saving on the need to rotate them.. and saves on costs when the bills come in at the end of the month. im very happy with that investment.. and like you say, investments in thegrow room need to be for a purpose because we got kids to feed and clothe, bills to pay and the mrs to keep happy etc etc.. not to mention the odd toy here n there

oh yeah! i just finished watching the series last night! saw the alkhemist there LOL but my alkhemy is all about green ma bro

typical.. i picked the wrong THC Bombs to put in, this is the short/compact phenotype.. i have others(tall/stretchier, quick flowering pheno) outside but don't wanna risk contaminating my tent by swapping around at this stage

Hey alk if the plythoff contains chlorine and the grow storm is an organic base additive wont the chlorine kill anything organic or is that just h202.
To be honest my biggest thing with starting out in hydro was root rot and I now add my own homebrew of clear rez and add it to my rez which is just chlorine really ,but wow my tank is clean and in this summer I have an 80 l chilly bin for a rez and its been at 29 c for a few days with no root issuess , ice bottles melt in minutes.
My rez is in a sep room as well ,they sit just below outside temp it's crazy
My hoods are from a place in auck call easy grow ,good shop and they still have flair form , sog are banned from selling it now I heard.
I want to use grow storm but still need my chlorine for cleanness in the winter I am going to try running a live rez with cannadian express regena root and wilt gaurd which I use already and some bennies ..

im not sure what the pythoff contains, they don't mention the ingredients on the labels, which i'm not a fan of..we gosta know what we're putting into our ladies afterall ae! but it sure smells like chlorine. yeah bro, chlorine is one of those chems that kinda kill bad AND good bacteria etc so it's far from ideal when using with an organic additive, in the past i've just gone with hydrogen peroxide-food grade.. as recommended to me by a mate and it seemed to do the trick with any issues with root rot, mold, algae build etc.. plus it's alot friendlier... and there are good products online too.
yeah bro, we all know the issues with res temps going through the roof! is one of the reasons i always run my grow at night during the summer and the day during winter months.. just a natural aid in bringing the temps down. yep ice water bottles is the easiest and cheapest solution when it comes to bringing your rez temps down.. put 4-5 in the freezer, rotate another half doz every other day...its not ideal but helps. i use a 80L res too.. keep my res at a 50L max- easier for my brain to calculate dilutions of nutes.. havent had too many issues recently but sure as hell did last summer! its definitely something most hydro growers experience atleast at some stage.

tbh bro, ive never been a BIG fan of SOG, just in terms of prices on SOME products.. some of their products are bloody cheap and you would be hard pressed to make complete my buddy hydro bucket(25$) buying from the mega store or something for the same price.. things like that they rock.. but other things are crazy expensive, like their hash bags for 180$! 3xbags and thats it! .. you can buy 5bag sets for less than a quarter of the price on the big auction sites..i got my co2 generator in from new york(gothamhydroponics), including shipping it cost me 480NZD(150NZD shipping) but the SOG co2 gens- same 4 burner models are 1100NZD!! plus 300$ for the house and garden starter kit SMH crazy prices man... 35bux for the shooting powder?? just use liquid lead, budstorm or something bro just as effective. and yeah, i'm bumming out that they don't stock flairform anymore.. i'll have to check that link in aux bro.
good luck with your live rez in the future brother.. the top feed kits are great sets imo, they are pretty good value and can be adapted to fit a heap of needs, i reckon they work bloody well with the 3M wide tents SOG stock, i just wish those same tents could open up from both sides so there wouldnt be any access issues.. i'm all about ease of access and convenience brother.. and if i can make life easier for myself then i get to spend more time just sitting with a nice J and a cold beer and some good sounds and just appreciate the warm glow of lights and the sweet scent of flowering MMJ

Yeah that was a soil grow I did with some strong but very fluffy nug and was no good for the pocket . It's way finish now, I might run a journal next round , but man life is so fuckin busy with kids and work and our other hobbies ,were to fit a journal in ha..
Q for ya ..without a ip add block , are the pigs really bothered about looking through this stuff for us and wouldn't it just be to time consuming for them ...it dose make me parinode some times thou

nah bro, in my opinion they would only be conducting shit like that if they had some suspicion or reason to, or we gave them reason to through being a bit TOO obvious or advertising our shit or some such... otherwise i can't see the filth going through the hundreds of miles of data just to find growers online. i use a VPN for many reasons bro, it's just added peace of mind for me.. i would recommend anyone to use one though, it's pretty cheap at only a few dollars per month and your identity is kept safe.

cool bro, i be cleaning the pool for this whare im staying in at the mo and need to get all the gears for it, i see the basic pool kit has test strips in it too so i'll check that out when i get that far, hopefully this weekend to make the most of the last of the summer weather we got hitting here - cheers for that brother, never even thought to try that
as far as the light goes bro, i just keep running it until the lumens drop below minimal specs, but usually restock atleast one bulb every round. i just use a light meter to test the lumens of the bulb at a foot below the bulb(which is about how far i keep my light above my gurls) and watch to see if the lumen rating drops as time goes on. i just got my light meter from the local ma bro. it's a sound investment for what it is and like you say.. it can show you how much juice your light is pumping out and how quick it drops. check this mean guide out from our mates at flairform, this is what i usually go by.. the only thing to remember of course is that different lights and ballasts will put out different lumen ratings.. they will usually list the specs on the box when you buy them though: Hydroponics & Light Intensity | Lamp Size | Light Cycles | Plant Height

with the buddy system, or what is normally called recirculating satellite systems(Satellite hydroponic systems | Re-circulating | Run-to-waste) i've hit 10 zips/oz dry growing cinderella 99 hybrids.. they went from 1 foot to just over 6ft in under 3 weeks of flowering cycle.. initially started out quite fluffy looking, and then in the last 3 weeks of the total 9 week flower cycle, they became dense and tacky as fuck! hardout sativa bro, they went CRAAZEE. if you go with a heavy cropper like the cindy 99 or a critical mass, for example, you will only need 2-3 weeks veg MAX! then turn over.. if from cutting you might be able to go straight into flower- the growth is just that mad ma bro.. hardout vigour like they're on roids... i've been meaning to get back to the ole cindy 99's but have just wanted to get through some surplus beans i got first, a few grows ago, which is where this journal started, they were mostly freebies with a few holy grail kush seeds to fill the tent.. the last couple of grows ive been fucking around with strains i got to hopefully find a flavour i can work with for a while... and i thnk i found that with the somango x critical kuz.. even though, i still got my inner eye on those cindy 99's. if you can get a flavour like that bro, you can hit 10-16 zips/oz per plant easy.

yeah the only reason i hit the soil with this lot is because i realized that the somango was a fucking mean yielder and i had these 8 ready to go to my nephews.. he ended up falling through and so i had 8 potted plants at around 3 foot ready to go into flower loL.. mean timing i reckon.. i'm prolly gonna go back to hydro next round though bro.. i got my next round of somango's established and getting their first taste of dirt right now.. they are only small pots- i'll let em get as big as they can in the next 4-5 weeks till this tent is done then transfer them by washing their roots out.. get as much debris out as i can then transplant into the satellite/buddy pots.

I just cleaned up my veg room and put another load of girls in. Mixture of bb x nl & super lemon haze.
Had a big morning cleaning system and pebbles ,potting clones. fucking hard work man hahah.

Might have to up my flower rez it's 80l which 70 I use and I'm having to top up everyday this week .
Mind you it's been very hot and dry down here this week .

I will be over the moon if I can hit 5 oz per plant, I sort of have to because things aren't free in this world ha..
Any ways bro your girls are looking mean az I might have to get me some of that somango in the future.
Also I used some grow storm in my veg tank this time around ,see how she goes.

it IS hard work bro! haha.. cleaning all the bloody clay balls or pebbles... ive been meaning to get me some river stones and use them instead of the hydroton clay. yeah bro.. you got alot more pots to feed than i do, so they will no doubt be drinking a shyteload more than mine too... i use a 80L res and use 50L of that for nutes- when they are in full flower i can easily be adding 10-15L every day.. and thats only 10 pots. bro, this lastr week has been killer HOT! on the orchard the frost thermo was showing 38celcius! and the sensor for that thermo is in the coldest part of the orchard under a tree- in the shade 0.0 lol its been seriously kick-arse hot.
with the right strain i think you could be hitting atleast 5 Oz per plant quite easily even better if you got a veg room to get them prepped and big to transplant to flower. grostorm is some good shit brother, i love that additive, i use it religiously.

howdy good 420,

well it's been almost a week so time for an update of the gurls at

DAY 38 of flower (of approx 70days?? )

i gave them a very light defol here n there and a feed of:

80mils per 40L of water- GROstorm (flairform) and
40mils per 40L of a heavy P and K flowering additive (liquid lead) which i will increase next week for 80mils per 40L, then double again the following week to 160mils per 40L for the last 2 weeks

room temps are hitting max 32 celcius and dropping to 20 celcius at lights off- due to being middle of summer here the temps have been higher than normal.
humidity has been around 45-55%

starting to hit the first browning of pistils in a few of them, except for the 2x THC Bombs and the 2x Cherry Bombs, introducing a low dosage of P and K booster to try and inspire pronounced growth in the calyx
