Reave's Soilless: Peat, Bark, Sphagnum, Perlite, White Widow 2018

Nope! I keep them under there for about a week before taking the domes off for 20 minutes here and there for about 3 days. If they look good after that then I leave the cups tipped slightly (about ½" gap) until I see roots (I use clear cups for the soil inside the red cups so I can see what's happening).

I use a slightly modified beez0404 cloning method and now have 100% success. I use Dip'n Grow to dip my stems before I put them in ProMix soaked with distilled water.

Thanks for the link. I will modify my method slightly to include the water. I have gel that works pretty good. I've only had the one fail so far. It seems to me that like your ak47s these Durga Mata are super ez to clone. The white widow is a little pickier but also seems to root easily.

Also to note that some of the cuttings were not the best candidates and they still seem to be rooting. I held 2 up with a chop stick and a twist tie for the first day. These are already a week old so they rooted or they will die.

A buddy of mine asked for a couple and now doesn't want them anyway. Cest la vie.

I've been keeping my next AK-47 small by keeping it in a 5 gallon pot on the floor of my office under the same CFL that lights up the clone-desk. It's nice and green and hardly growing at all. Might be a solution for any clones that survive but you don't have room for.
Good call. Might be a good idea to keep a couple mothers. I don't want to lose the Durga Mata strain but I don't want to grow it next round. I read is this TLObook that a strain should only be cloned from for a couple years. Is that True?

I thought there were clone-only strains that have been around for many years. My AK will be two years old in May, so I guess that will be my testing ground :).
REV’S TIP You should grow from seed, clone all you want from that stock, and keep it around, if you choose, for a couple of years. Make some seeds with it, and then move on, starting from seeds again. If you think about the big picture, you will agree it seems like a no brainer. You suffer breakdown at a cellular level when you artificially prolong the life of a plant programmed to be an annual (to die and be reborn by seed every year). At about the 2-year mark you will begin to note weaknesses in resistance to disease, and loss of vigor as well.

Interesting! If that's true then it might be time to either buy some CS or STS and make seeds, or let this strain go soon. Hard to do that as it's my top producer.
Could be true. But how much it really matters is another question. Keep growing it and find out I guess.
