Real Grand Daddy Purp From Seed

So after scaring myself to death my girl showed me her vigor. She is all bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning. So I got some pics with the light on. Heat control is looking like it will not be a problem. :) I am running the ballast at a full 400w.

couple of suggestions bro.

your reflectors need to be pulled tighter, they are bouncing light in all sorts of random directions that loost and could cause hotspots.

your heat is actually out of control, for your light to be that far away and the soil surface at 80, there is not enough airflow me thinks.

i would get a few floor fans pointing diagonally upwards towards the light and try to move the light lower down.

i know MH has much better penetration than cfl...but 6 inches closer is still 6 inches closer and can make a huge improvevent to growth.

or..i could just be talking nonsence and your pic 1 is just an optical illusion. but it does 'appear' to be several feet away from the plant, lol

You guys probably have this chart but it's a good reference

Never seen that before Beemer thanks for that chart +reps!!

Thanks DocDee glad you can use it and thanks for the reps

Dang i havent read for a week and things have changed! Glad shes doing well, cant believe you already transplanted her! Makes me think i shoulda transplanted a week ago! And youre already giving her nutes... if you have time can you look at my thread, we germinated at the same time but mine are still in party cups, advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'll be right there. :)

It was an optical illusion. The hood is sitting 10" from the top of the plant. I think picture one and 2 blended together. I have tried like all hell to get the blanket flatter but have had no luck.

Here is a better shot.

Well it seems to like the new light.

TG my unknown girls outside are getting purple all around the buds. what are the traits of GDP. I really don't care what it is and it won't be long when I find out what it tastes like and how it feels. But it would be nice to have a name besides unknown.

Thanks for the +reps

What I have researched about GDP is that the buds will be purple with neon green here and there. The is usually very few hairs and tons of Trichs. If temps are getting rather low during the night for your outdoor girls it could be causing them to purple as it happens with lower temps and there are a lot of strains that can turn purple do to temp. A picture would be great.

Hey tactical what kind of camera do you have man? All I have is a cheap digital auto camera but it has a bunch of settings that really help get things focused better. If it has a auto feature that can be good at times. If it has a face detection feature then thats a great way to get your plants in focus and the background out of focus. I never have luck with zooming in its always better to get the camera closer to the subject.
Hope this helps some!:thumb:

Thanks TG, I don't think it's a GDP because the buds are green and there isn't an neon. It's been pretty dam cool around here in the mornings. We have had frost 6 times in the last week and a half so even in the cold frame and greenhouse it get cold. Plants seem to be doing good so hopefully they will make it to harvest.

use some sort of adhesive gel/semi solids like blu-tack between the sheet and the wall, you can then apply outward pressure to tighten up each section. you dont have to use nearly as much as my pic, i was being pedantic ;)

Excited to watch this start Rollin!
Welcome to the party.

As for the rest of you I would like to thank you for enlisting my help and glad the community is seeing me as a resource. I am also glad that so many of you are taking time to help me or follow my grow. :circle-of-love:

GiGa, as always thank you for the tips and tricks that you keep giving me. The camera is my iPhone and I have yet to get it down. I am still trying to get better pictures with it.

My little girl is about 4 1/2" so she is currently gaining about an 1" a day since the lighting switch and light nute feed.
