RDWC Lemon Skunk Seeds From DNA

Canadians... like Americans, but nice

I have visited approx. 42 states & all 10 provinces. There are nice people everywhere. Maybe just a higher % as you go north. Something about the cold . . . :grinjoint:

Honestly, you can have the cold

It's possible to see the seasons in the states but all you have to do is go to California for the good one. haha

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Ca guys always haul out sandal pictures to TRY to make us envious . . . :Hookah:

It was a little cliche.

And those are my formal flip flops... you got the very best!

Its the long winters. Gotta get cozy with people when you cant do much outside. Alaska has the nicest people ive ever met. More nice people but also the level of caring is much higher. Total community feel. Love it! I assume Canada is very similar

Seedlings are doing well. The "west" plant developed a rust spot so I cut the leaf off and won't be putting the cup back on for humidity. I originally had the TDS at a little over 380. I got a little crazy with the Rapid Start when I was mixing it up. I've diluted the res to 325. Ph is 5.9, air is 79, water is 66, humid is 50% I have one root showing from the north plant. The others should be a long shortly. Things are going well.

The rust is getting worse on the plant to the West. I cut off another leaf. I also sprayed with Azamax, it's all I have right now. It's not the best answer to the problem. I added a fan which is now pointed in the general area of the afflicted plant, and turned off the humidity. This plant is really trying. It doesn't show roots yet, but it's very close.

I have a gizmo called a Clean Light. It's a handheld UV-C generating light that is reputed to destroy powdery mildew. I read about the production model then ran out and bought the guts to make my own. So, to be fair, mine doesn't have the cool stickers, but it's the same thing. Actually, I made the "pro" model so it's more powerful than the hobby version... not so sure that was a good idea. There's also another point to make. I've never had powdery mildew, so im not entirely sure if it even works. Let alone rust.

I will say however, it puts out a very nasty light that will broil the shit out of any senior plant let alone a seedling if attention isnt paid. It will also leave my flip flopped feet with funky new cancer spots so I will need to account for that. Full honesty, the thing scares the shit out of me.

I was a Manufacturing Engineer at Philips North America. We made short arc DC Xenon lamps used primarily for movie theaters, but we also made lamps for spots and UV test simulation
For instance, you come up with a plastic part. You want to know if it can handle 4 years worth the sun but can't wait for 4 years worth of hot weather to find out, then you take your product to SGS or somebody that runs tests like this. They shine one of these crazy lamps at your product for a few months and that will equal 4 years or whatever. Long story short. UV especially in the C scale is nothing to be fucked with. I may try the light, but it will be the last resort

My relative humidity right now is 25%. Couldn't have happened at a better time. The rust appears to be gone. I know it isnt, but maybe this will check it. Plants look pretty good. The North one is rockin. 2 roots in the water. The other 2 want to live, but have been dealt shitty hands. As long as the rust stays away they should do fine.

I drained about 20% of the res and added calmg and Fulvex from Botanicare. Fulvex is a fulvic/humic acid. I usually use a product called Fulpower but I wanted to try the Botanicare

Fulvic and humic acid, are something I use all the time. It sort of acts like a buffer. New additives, or nutrients are taken up easier by the plants. Makes a killer foliar spray. Love the stuff. Don't get Golden Nectar from General Hydro if you want to try Fulvic acid. Fulpower or Fulvex is easy to find, and it's good stuff. I dumped water because I knew the Calmg would raise the TDS quite a bit. Full, with the added stuff TDS is at 380. I will be adding veg nutes next week.

I cleaned and calibrated my meter. I have a Millwaukee 802. I like it, but I think the translation of the original instructions from Hungarian to English was done late at night after a trip to the bar. I've thought about getting an all in one TDS, temp, Ph meter, I'm using a remote probe meat thermometer right now for temp. I've also thought about automating my Ph. I decided to not do the Ph. because I don't want one Ph number. I want to roam the dial so to speak. An ever-changing Ph helps absorb certain nutrients... even Calcium. The most highly accused nutrient of all deficiencies, doesn't get absorbed efficiently till after Ph is above 6.0. Besides, i like checking my Ph. It gives me something to do. Any time I can do something in my room, I'm there.

So one plant is showing fishbones. I sware the roots are a byproduct of Rapid Start. Beyond the roots hanging down, there are quite a few more coming out the bottom. This root development happened really quickly, just the past few days. I dig this plant. Once the other plants touch water, im thinking they will turn a corner. Rust is still an issue, but so far only one plant.

The second photo shows the plant with rust issues. If you zoom in a bit you'll see rust on the lower left. If you guys have a cheap ass home remedy for fungal rust I'd love to hear about it. At this time my RH is at 40. It has been as low as 25ish. Quite a bit too low for such a young plant, but it's keeping the rust at bay.

Temp 80, 30% humidity, water 70, TDS 390. 6.3 ph. Temp is too high, humidity is too low, water is too high, and so are the nutrients... man.

Honestly the temp and humidity are to keep the rust down, the water is a byproduct of the air temp due to the way I cool it. I know i have plenty of air in the water, and plenty Hydroguard so the water temp is what it is

The plants look pretty good. The 3 seedlings are finding there stride. Both the stragglers are rust free for now. Two plants have roots out The bottom. I'm thinking a few days from now they should be rollin. I need roots in the water on all three for that.

Here's something interesting... this plant doesnt have any continuing growth in the crotch at the top of the plant.

Roots are poking out of all three. The strongest (ironically its the one with no future haha) is below

Everything else is going ok.

I had a seedling that did the same thing. It sprouted and grew it's first true leaves then nothing. After a week, she still wasn't putting out, so I dropped her. Lol

But you never know, her roots look good. She might sprout some new growth. Everything looking good otherwise

Today I give thanks to my plants... not that they've done anything special, just that they are still alive.

Ph was at 6.7, brought down to 5.9. Nutes are still at 390. Not enough going on in the tank to see it change. My strongest plant is slowly becoming an issue. It's not growing up, it's just low and flat. Also. There is absolutely no evidence of future growth in the crotch at the top of the plant. Usually theres at least a tiny little bump that will soon be a set of leaves. This thing has gone Brazilian... nothing. The roots on this plant are going off. Very prolific. Maybe it's working on the foundation before the steeple. Other plants are pushing out roots, and getting taller. They still look like Frankenstein experiments on a personal level, but they truly want to be something, so i will help them out.

Happy Thanksgiving all.

For our friends to the North, Thanksgiving is a holiday where you get together with family. We eat a large bird and various salads that appear to be made from left overs when you look at the ingredients. Then you decide who your gonna hang out with for the next 7 hours. Options are senile Grandma with very strong opinions on everything. Theres the Uncle with a 1.75 bottle of Jack in one hand cigarette in the other, AND firecrackers in the bag on his Harley "for later". You could help clean up and hear shit talk about your cousin who just had her 4th kid. " it's a vagina not a clown car " Grandma says. I personally like a secluded room where I can watch the Twilight Zone marathon, because uncle only has .75 left in the bottle, granny needs a ride home to feed her cat and isnt finding one. Everyone else is asleep or pretending because they know granny and uncle are about to get in a fist fight.

So Thanksgiving is actually when you make it back your car and no one can be called collateral damage.

Man, stories like this take me back...
