I like it. But I worry that this isnt so feasible in your setup because the plants are so damn close together. You're going to have monster bushes I think. But now if you could just get them on like 24"-32" centers.

Bassman- thanks. This is all new to me obviously.. and I was concerned about them being so close as well. I'm amazed at how well the Advanced LEDs are getting through to the lower half of the plants. But yeah... if I could get them a little further apart that would be nice.

I'm thinking of trying a DIY aero system to add to my room. Now that I have a better understanding, building one shouldn't be too hard, and can def save some money. If so, I will put them further apart.

Heisenberg- thanks for stopping back by. They are looking good. Of course I'm nervous as all heck that I'm gonna screw it up. I've gotten a lot of good help from the forumite's!

Oh.. one thing I haven't mentioned. The tops of the plants are all the way up to about 8" from the light. I haven't raised the light because everything is looking good. I figured if it ain't broke, don't fix it.. right.

So.. this morning before I left the house I raised the light up about 8 inches or so.

Probably should have gone with my first instinct and left well enough alone.

Hey GL. yes, I switched them to 12/12 two weeks ago (I think that's right.. I need to go back and check my notes.) Yep, two weeks ago today.

oh hell, I just noticed you were less than 2 weeks into flower when you trimmed those leaves.

Generally speaking you want to let them be until after the stretch is done (roughly 3 weeks). Adds a little stress when you want them to go wild and stretch and start bloomin.

Just keep that thought for next grow. You'll be fine.

ah. oh well. they've already started filling back in. Like you said.. I'm learning as I go. taking all this in for next time. I knew this was going to be a learning experience. I never knew how much I was going to learn though.

I know it's been said a bunch before, but growing is uber addictive.


On another note. WendysGreens & I are going on a trip the end of January for our 20th anniversary. I hope this grow will be done and dry and cured by the time we go. When we started this project it was supposed to be done by Christmas... but a string of errors on my part really put us behind.

I've got two DS200's over the aeroflo 30. They cover really well, but if I had some extra money to burn on lights I'd get one more and put three over the system. Right now the two lights are running parallel (in line) with the aero tubes. If I had three lights, I'd run them perpendicular.

I think it would brighten the place up nicely... :headbang:

Yes soon. I've got a super busy weekend, but either this weekend or early next week I should have lots of good budlet porn.

I agree that trim you gave them awhile back looked like it may have been too much but they definitely bounced right back and are filling in quickly,

How far are your lights from the canopy? on my other grow the WW will not stop stretching they've stretched so much that my lights are as high as they can go and the ones ones on the top seem to be a little stressed from the light.

Thanks InsuranceGuy. I'm interested too.. just gonna have to wait and see. If this works out well, I'm going to add another aero/nft system in the room. if it's just too crowded or I have other problems I may add another flood table. (also thinking maybe about just adding some DIY tubs. but before I decide I want to see how all this plays out.)

salty-- last week (or earlier this week.. I can't recall) I raised the lights up. The plants had grown to within 8 inches of the lights, and were just starting to show the slightest of stress from too much light. Right now, I have the lights about 16 inches from the plants.

I dont think you took too much off the plants. I just feel you did it at the wrong time. I could be wrong of course, but my understanding is wait till stretch is all over with, then defoliate.

got it. after doing more reading, it seems like day 21/45 are the days.. or something around there. Next time, I'll do it differently. This entire grow was a little messed up from the beginning, but things have certainly taken a turn for the better. Our hope is to find "the" strain that is the perfect help for my wife when she gets her paralyzing migraine's. At the same time, we are learning what to do and what not to do, so we can get it right when we find the one(ones)

I appreciate the help Bassman... I really do.

I'm sure they'll be fine and you probably only missed some benefit not a total fuck up per se by any means. And yes, thats what I understand about the timing too.

Thanks Bassman59. I appreciate it. It's been a long and busy weekend, so I am behind in posting and reading, I'm going to try to get some more pics tonight. The girls are all bushy and fat, and they are about 6-8 inches taller now as well. these things grow like weeds. Nice budlets too.
