Radogast's Non-420 Garden Creation Thread

Cat tails! Yes! A lotus would be so perfect.

Good job on the water control. That had to be fun to do. Reminded me of how we played in the creek across the street from my childhood home, redirecting water into new channels and eddies. Looks like it was a nice day for outdoor work.

I got lost in the water play - like building sand castles with one long wave. I was outside about 5 hours straight. My beloved wife came out and asked if I was drinking water - she takes care of me. Temps in the low 80s. I was working in the shade and around cool water. No mosquitos -- so yeah, a very good day outside.

"My beloved wife..."

You lucky man. :battingeyelashes::love:

Thank you for that Rad. :laughtwo:

I had just finished watching a video on YouTube and was getting ready to research Dragonfly. How timely of you. Now let me go watch it before bed.

Heavy rains this week put the brook into near flood. My pump was burried in sand, pumped several feet of sand into the pipe and then jammed solid stuck. It was not unplugged. I was able to clean it out, but the pump just doesn't have the oomph to lift enough water to the top of the waterfall anymore. It ran for about 20 minutes at reduced flow before quitting.

Lesson learned, dont allow your pump to be burried in sand. This confirms my desire to pump from a deep, rocky area of the brook.

I hung a small hammock between two trees as a chair swing. It has been used a few times now :)

I have a strawberry looking plant growing in the seed pit, but I don't know what it really is.

Any idea what this low growing, ground cover like plant might be?

My catnip seeds sprouted in the garden room.

We plan to put them in the ground near the deck once they are big enough to survive random squirrel traffic.

Do you have a cat? If so fence this one in or the cat will eat them to the ground in no time flat. :laughtwo:

I believe they're buttercups. Lovely little things aren't they?

We had catnip on the porch last summer. :)

Our cat of many years, the softest long-haired cat you have ever petted, with a very sweet disposition died this last winter.
She preferred dried catnip to fresh. I also think dried catnip smokes better :)

We have rats that share breakfast with me, plus furry and feathered friends outside :)

My best friend in college had a pet white rat. One of the sweetest animals I ever met. Dale said to tell you "nice". :cheesygrinsmiley:

Hail, Brother,
Glad to see all's well. Gaia paints w/a splendid brush.
Mrs. Kopta (nice old Lady neighbor of mine in Chicago) taught me a trick for growing Catnip. You're gonna laugh, but it works. Grow it under a wire dish rack held down w/garden staples (hanger cut in 1/2). Kitty will nibble as far as he can, but there's still enough leaf mass left for photosynthesis.
2 questions, plz:
What was your herbal smoke mix?
Have you been seeing signals of Change/Flux? I feel, but cannot see. Confusing and worrisome.
Love and respect

some wildflower

The common daisy. My daughter's favorite flower. The Coral Bells are luscious Rad. Everything is coming along so nicely. The sage struck a cord. Our house had a makeshift greenhouse along the south-facing side with a bed of sage growing all along that side. It was the most marvelous smell coming onto the property, walking past that sage, stepping down between Rose bushes that bloomed profusely all season long and passing under the grape arbor, between beds of Sweet Woodruff along the path to the front door. It was a celebration for all the senses.

I doubt our yard will support anything as lush as you describe using the traditional flowering plants, but we'll find something :)
