Radogast's 2018 Basement Adventure

KB Hit me with a PM... careful what you wish for! hahahaha

Glad to see some rich black soil again in Rads grow space. All that white was scaring me!

Glad you got some DT going there Rad. It's been a looong time since I've seen a little baby seedling... They grow fast and get big! The shorter pheno finishes faster. The tall pheno is straight up Sativa will go 90 days.

On the transplant then flip to flower. Thats how I do it. They get a boost of amendments, some fresh EWC and some fresh mycos.. good to go to the end.

G/L with the next round! Cleaning up the flower space?? Yer gonna need every inch here shortly!

hay rad im finally figuring out the new platform and able to go and find people again lol but yea how is the garden looking so far brother hope everything is going good for u

The garden has recovered. Probably going to start repopulating the flower room in a week or two.

The veg area is getting crowded, which is always a good sign.

Just did my first multi-quote/multi-reply on the new platform. Odd but seems to be working :)

I am so happily jealous. Grow strong seedlings!

A good place for seedling photos

I neglected the garden for 3 days, and my 7th attempt to germ a Labyrinth seedling took. The seed never sunk, so it sprouted downward in water. A longer tail than I usually like, but I finally got a Labyrinth started !

Labyrinth seed in pot in front, a pair of Devil's Tit in back.

Devil's tit about 3 days ago.

7th Labyrinth seedling her first day above ground.

The 8th Labyrinth seed I was soaking also opened up. It took 11 or 12 days, but the seed cracked and I put her in the ground yesterday.

Seedling count is (2) Devil's Tit and 1 Labyrinth seedlings in soil with 1 Labyrinth seed below ground.

Cleaning up the flower space is on my agenda, but I've been busy 16 hours a day on a project.

White vs Soil? Let's compare.

Guawi clone twin in white perlite with osmocote+

Guawi clone twine in HiBrix soil.

One of these twins is not like the other. By standard benchmarks, all my veg plants gtow slowly - not surprising since I have a total of 216W CFL for the whole veg area. In comparison, soil works better for me.

To be fair, the osmocote+ hempy are doing better on the unmodified PH of RO water, but they are still showing leaf coloration indicating a deficiency.

How are you liking your new(ish) growing space now that you've had time to settle in and run it some?
I remember all the effort that went in to setting it all up just right and it seems like you might be at a point were you can speak of it's strengths and weaknesses.

Making space in the veg area for a barrel of soil was worth it, since soil seems to work better for me.

I prefered when my veg area floorspace was 2x the size of flower area. I'm at 1:1 now and veg area is a bit small once I start filling the flower area. The way I grow, 1.5x1 is about the right ratio, with veg area 1.5 times the sixe of flower area. Once I get these 3 smaller hempy into flower, the veg area will have a little more elbow room.

I'd also have more space if I stopped using the veg area as a houseplant nursery.

:nomo::popcorn:

Hope all’s well...

All is well with me. I'm busy with a project.

In the last 7 days: Applied for a business account, found a storefront to lease, completed a 45+ page business plan, applied for a lease, was told my credit sucked as a (temporary) retiree, went to my alderman, he contacted the ciy manager, city manager scheduled a meeting with economic development team, application for a business bank account was denied, added 3 year projected profit/loss statements, 3 year projected sales, and 3 year projected cash flow to my business plan, met with the city team, the city team called the realtor and asked what specifically I need to do for them to lease the property to me, got a totally outlandish answer from the landlord (a bank), we are trying to hammer out a lease agreement.... the city is now on my side, so it's looking like it will come together. If not, the landlord (bank) will have some real 'splaining to do, since I'm making a full asking price offer on a 3 year lease and requesting a lease extension agreement.

The city has had a rash of landlords NOT leasing downtown buildings and keeping them empty, which is killing downtown - to the point where they are crafting an ordinance to raise property taxes on unoccopied property and assembling mailing lists for the targetted property tax mailings. ... At this point, they city wants to force the landlord (bank) to accept me as a tenant. ---- It's local politics at it's dramatic best, and I'm in the middle of it!

Fortunately, the property and location are perfect for our business plan. It's worth it!

now--- off to read some of the threads I haven't seen in the many days I've been neglecting :420: magazine!

High! Sir Radogast :ciao:

nice to see you - my goodness that sounds a helluva scenario to be embroiled in! Must be fascinating to a degree... Whenever I have close encounters in those sorts of zones I’m am constantly left amazed that anything ever happens at all in the area of public administration and business... such a tangle of worms! Hope it all works out!

So nice to see you garden, and see it looking so happy - mmm High Brix Guwawi looks beudiful :yummy:

Sorry to hear about all the outside drama. Sounds about right... wonder why the banks want to sit on properties and let them stay vacant. Here where I'm at you have to apply for a permit to have a vacant property and of course there's a permit "fee".

Somewhere along the line, it's all about the almighty dollar.

Congrats on the little ones... G/L with all the babies!

I'll make it over to your thread soon, hopefully today. I am weeks behind on some threads

Since I'm back as a participant, time to do a review of the garden.

Veg Area (That's all that's open right now, the Flower Area is closed.)

Today's picture of the little ones

(2) Devil's Tit and a small Labyrinth (a second Labyrinth seed is still under dirt.)

(3) Small Hempy: Lilly, Guawi, and Haze x Kali China (clone twins with below)

Lily - about 1 month into flower.

Lilly will be put into the Flower Area, Guawi and Haze x Kali China will go into 3-gal hempy buckets.
This will happen when I open back up the Flower Area.

(3) 1 gal HiBrix: Lilly, Guawi, and Haze x Kali China (clone twins)

I forgot to take a picture of Guawi, but its similar in size.
These will stay in 1-gal soil until they areready to move into 7-gal HiBrix and into the Flower Area.

Hempy Guawi may or may not grow much, she is stunted. I'll know in the next few weeks.

Hempy Carnival is ready to move into the Flower Area. Canopy is uneven, leaves are ugly, but growth is vigorous.

7-gal Carnival has been stuck in a small space. She needs room to train. Coming soon.

7-gal Lilly has come back to life. She is ready to go into the Flower Area.

I'm expecting smaller (1-1.5 oz) yields in the net girls into flower, because I need the veg area space and I need some meds.
I'm hoping I can get better looking plants for the next batch to move into the Flower Area :)

Tht 7 gal Lilly and carnival are looking good and ripe 4 some good ole training u whip those girls into shape rad lol and the babies are coming along nicely those devils tit and I believe it was a labyrinth they seem to be coming along at a nice rate lol. I can tell u I sure wouldn't mind adding some devils tit to my arsenal of seeds lol are those reg seeds or female that u got there rad?? I'll send u as much positive and good energy as I can so it fills up nicely and gives u a good harvest which given ur level of skill as a great gardener (a master gardener in my eye) I have no doubt it will fill up very well 4 u namaeste.

I cleaned the flower area and rinsed out the watering tray

I'm running low on flowers and the veg room was too darn crowded so
... 7-gal Lilly, 3-gal Carnival, and 1-qt Lilly went to the flower room. The HPS light is just warming up.

Hey Rad! So what kind of business are you cooking in this quaint I assume New England downtown? A lot o hipsters there? :p

It's a quaint New England style specialty marketplace in a small midwestern city.

Since we want to become regionally famous in our niche market--- I'll leave the description there.

Thanks for your support!

Sounds cool, bud
