S & P TD-silent series is exactly that - silent! I have a 100xs and 150s and they are awesome. Low watt, super quiet, and light.
And for anyone who wants to turn down their fans but is over that noise that gets louder as the fan gets slower? It's called a variac, pricey compared to a "speedster" fan control but this thing actually controls how much power makes it to the fan; speedster and the like usually flicker the current to slow her down; makes heat and noise and reduces fan life. Get a variac!
