PW's First Attempt At Aeroponics & PS1000 LED

Re: PW's First Attempt At Aeroponics & PS1000 LED

Have you guys done the yeast / sugar / water home made co2 emitters? I was thinking of setting one up this weekend. Guy at the hydro shop said it was well worth the tiny investment as an initial foray into co2.

I haven't....I have seen several grow journals where the people use it. My understanding of the use of CO2 is somewhat cloudy. There are limiting factors in growing......temps, light, food, and CO2. If one is lacking then increasing any of the others is essentially a waste. Meaning that if you are using lower wattage lights, increasing CO2 really won't do anything for you. So for CO2 use (other than in a manner to deal with higher temps as CO2 use recommends higher temps), you need to be using max wattage for you grow area and have proper nutrients available to support additional growth.

So for that reason, I have held off on trying any methods of CO2 use. My use would have been because my tent was running too hot (mid to upper 80s on hot days as my grow room is upstairs on the sun facing side of the house and I had not AC unit in the room).

Re: PW's First Attempt At Aeroponics & PS1000 LED

If all you were doing is a homemade emmitter using sugar and yeast, then you'd be wasting money on the cost of yeast and sugar... Not exactly breaking the bank. I run a ferment in my small closed space and 2kg sugar and a spoon of yeast lasts a week to ferment co2 at around 1000ppm. If the plant doesn't use it who cares? It was sugar and yeast...

High temps is what was pushing me towards using it as well. But the weather cooled down and I decided to just buy a window air conditioner for the bedroom that the grow tent is in. I am pretty sure that will do everything I need with my temp. If it doesn't, then I am back at the CO2 option.

Id go with A/C if i could

Thats the plan, just gotta pick one up (well I have three, but those generally get used so I need another one....though I can use one of those until I get a new one). I think the temps will be fine in there if I keep the room about 75-78 range

Z7 has been my saving grace plus the voodoo juice.
Never used voodoo. Just had a read. This is pretty big call! Truly that good?

Air temps are in the low 80's now with res temps in the mid 70's. Appears as though the z7 and voodoo juice are doing their jobs. The AN base nutes are keeping ph stable. I just have to get used to seeing somewhat higher ph lvls with ph perfect nutes.
Yes, I noticed with AN. 74 -77 deg res temp. pH would stable out in the upper 5.8 - 6.2. I would top off with lower pH around 5.0 - 5.3 with 55deg water. Along with root stabilizing products all was good.
I did notice one time that res temp was above 80deg and pH was in the low 4.
I had to test. At 78 deg res. 540ppm of AN, tarantula, Complete-zym. pH started to drop. At 79deg pH was 4.9. At 81deg pH was 4.2. By the time every thing was back norm. Within a couple of hours signs of fluctuations. White spots between leaf vain. It took about 48 hours to recover. Leaving a bunch of fan leaves burned. And vertical BUD growth was narrowed. Now I know.lol

I purchased a little VooDoo juice the other day. .

Is AN's Sensizym similar to Z7? Or should I use both? I have Sensizym as of now.

What i understand is they are the same. I ran out of z7 and was going to purchase Sensizym. Ordered 250mm Completezym instead. They botched my order. Ordered and received Sesizym.
Complete-hydroponics sent me this. Along with discounts for future orders.

500ml for the price of 250ml and a new product sample Bloom Booster (treats 250 liters) looks like I'll be trying a new product in one of my resivior's.

I read the same, that it would be like doubling up. Let's see. I'll use Sensizym at first.

Although reading about Z7, it sounds pretty badass.

Z7 is top line. I have a bad habit of calling products bluff. And, try them all myself. Take AN, 49 products for marijuana? Root zone products 4, 5 ? Same product tweaked just enough to call it something else. ?????

I switched from voodoo to hydroguard because of price. Then i tried 7z, because ive seen so much talk about it, and liked it and its pretty cost efficient. 7z and great white are things i always keep around now.
