PW's First Attempt At Aeroponics & PS1000 LED

Re: PW's First Attempt At Aeroponics & PS1000 LED

Hey Tricam,

Thanks for the advice. I hope this small chiller does the trick, as I plan to only use about 2-4 gallons in the main tote, and 2-4 gallons in the rez. Still need to test everything and adjust as needed.

I've got the Cookies Kush going under 2 CFL bulbs.

I'll complete the system soon and post up in the Aero thread. Don't want to keep hijacking my good man PW's GJ. :)

One More! I insulated my totes side and top with the double bubble reflective sheet. Bottom? Unless your over a heated room. I see no need to insulate in the summer.

Putting it on a 52 liter tote.
Made a huge difference in the time it took the water temp to increase to room temp.

Nice, I'll look into it.

I also plan to add a 2x2, 2" layer of styrofoam on top on the main tote. Should help keep the light from heating up the water a bit, plus I'll be able to stick my 6" staples into the styrofoam for the fluxing technique.

Styrofoam will be good to insulate with.
Yea, I remember someone here mentioned adding a table top layer of foam helps.
use the solid foam not the air foam used in flotation devices. unless you like all those little broken bits of puff balls in everything.
Lol, definitely solid.

I saw a 2"x4'x8' foam board, one side lined with reflective material @ HomeDepot, thinking of grabbing one and cut to size as needed. May wrap the totes with the left over material.

On the point of air stones, I've found that using micro soaker hose and some 4mm tees you can make bubblers any size and shape required to cover the bottom of a large res. They sell them as air injector technology aerators for a silly price but cheap to make your own and work very well.

Using more air across the res pumped in from outside the tent should help bring your temps down too

My 6" airstones are under my roots in the 5 gallon buckets already. Plus the air from the Dewey misters so i think i have oxygen covered for now. The 50 gallon tote will only have maybe 10 gallons of solution in the bottom. Ill run 6-8 misters. Under 8-10 plants

Looking forward to your next grow as well.

How are these girls looking today? :)

That's good to hear.
Keep 'em breathing.
I realize the 50 gal is needed for the Dewey mister. The under bed tote I'm using is designed for a cabinet grow. Testing to see what it will take to make them work. They will be cleaned and put away for the cabinet. What you plan on doing with the Dewey SOG is my next tote also. Now that I have environments under control. Get me a variety of beans. And, start a compeating journal. lol (kidding about compeating).

What ill do is run up to 10 standard seeds at a time, weed out the makes unless i find a really good one. Then pick the best females to clone and or feminize some seeds. I have: Pink Kush, Indiana Bubble Gum, Skunk #1, Fire og Bx, Shit, Zamaldelica and Mangobiche Kush to go through.

Sounds like an awesome idea and the strains are awesome as well. I wished I had a variety like yours lol

A friendly competition wouldn't hurt anyone though. Would sure be fun to watch and see some awesome growers battle it out. On autoflower dot net they have live grow battles for fun. I know I shouldn't have mentioned that but why not have the same here for fun?
