Basically plants will be in buckets but instead of roots being submerged they will be bathed in water sprayed up from Dewey misters which sit in the bottom of the bucket. Air pumps power the spray inside the buckets. I have pics showing the setup and its pretty simple really. So lets see what this new set up can do.

What happens when the roots get big? Is there still enough space for a spray to hit everything?
 
Hey PW how bigs ur cloner? I want one but feel it would take up to much space in my lil 3x3 but urs dont look like it takes up to much space? Maybe cause u have the 4x4 though lol
 
I think mine is 2 gallons, not big at all. I have 1 dewey mister in the cloner bucket. With basically an air pump for an aquarium running the mister.

All the seedlings are in the cloner so lets see how long it takes to grow enough roots to transfer to the big buckets.

Plus I would image the roots will be air pruned, thus not overflowing the bucket?
 
The roots in my Dewey aero grow have hit the water in the bucket. I think the humidity in the bucket keeps it from air pruning.
Seems to be doing fine and pw buckets have a lot more movement in the water with that commercial pump so it's shouldn't be an issue at all when they hit the water. I had to split my airline and add a valve to get a little more bubbling in my buckets. Basically my air pump has two outlets, I made a total of 4 so it's two airlines per bucket. The second is valved down just to break water tension a bit more. The further along my grow the more I'm seeing Dewey is more of a aero dwc hybrid.
 
Hey guys believe it or not but i saw a big difference in the babies since yesterday. Im thinking this aero business just might work out well. .
