Purple Punch

Harvest day . They have been in darkness for 80 hours . Chopping and gonna try and dry up right if I can make that happen. Otherwise upside down whole plant for a week . I’m telling any new grower that this is by far the most important step in growing . You mess this up and your weed will taste like hay and won’t smell like you want it too . Got get the dry down or there is no cure
Picture later after I have them secure

I hang the entire plant for between 7-10 days. I don't get the hay smell if I do it this way.
I prefer a dry trim as well.

I wanna cut and hang just as she sits. I’ve drilled holes in base of stem , I’m thinking of anchoring thorough these holes

Oh I want the leave to dry like they are. They are folding up as opposed to over the bud. I’ve read they will dry faster . I have my humidity at 55% and temps between 70-73 constant so I’m not worried with mold or anything remote . Thinking 6 days in disturbed

Darkness , as of right now they smell like warm baked apple pie as the breeders indicate . I do hope this remains after I chop her ass . I’ve contemplated letting die in the pot but 3/4 weeks is too long to wait

Sounds like a good plan.

They will dry faster but if you aren't worried about mold you may want them to dry longer and slower. This will allow some more of the chlorophyll to gas off giving you a better product. That is the hay smell.
I hang the entire plant untrimmed. I like the fans to curl around and protect the buds. It slows down drying as well.
I don't get the hay smell this way.

I haven't seen one dried the way you want to do it so I'm interested to see it.:thumb:

Here they are, cut at base of stem and wedges into orange swivel

I could not resist 36 hours after chop, this is how they are drying . I need to get humidity down a bit . Sitting at 59/60 %. Temps 70/72
Smell like a chopped plant and it’s nice aroma blended . It was funny, immediately after chopping that smell was there . Notice how the leaves are drying... hmmm

Hopefully it should come with the curing.

although my first Bc Never did catch a marijuana smell to it. It’s still sitting in my jar in the back of the top shelf lol. Lots of trichomes but smells like hay.

my new BC smells a bit better, but nothing like my DA.

They are drying quicker than I anticipated. Almost to end of day 3
The buds are starting to harden and have a lovely smell to the fingers. Let’s hope that course continues

They are off- gassing chlorophyll. That's the hay smell. They are drying fast so the scent is probably strong. If they dry slower they tend to keep their scent more.
Commercial operators dry for 7-14 days.

Ones drying faster than the other and I think it’s because there was more water in it’s roots . Taking longer to get rid of . They will probably dry 7 days maybe 6. We will see . I’ve committed to leaving tent closed until Friday and hoped to be surprised

Purple Punch is in the bag. All 112 grams . This was a subtle reminder that cannabis shrinks when cut lol
The bags smell amazing. I will take most of both plants and make bubble hash . I pulled out a half ounce to cure and smoke
Getting everything together so I can make bubbles Sunday evening . It will be interesting to see the yield
BTW, my house smelled/ still smells amazing from cutting branches and paper bagging .no hay smell

:woohoo: Congrats on your harvest!!!

Looking forward to seeing your hash.
Thanks me too, I think I’m gonna make it today. It’s been 7 days and these plants did not produce mass weight so there wasn’t much to dry. I had approximately a QP combined weight from both plants . I jarred up a little over a quarter of Finley manicured so I could see how well I did it did not do this round .. I’m hoping she cures up to some fire weed . I have five more seeds of this bad girl. Today I’m breaking down the 3by3 and packing away for a few months . I’ll be back up and growing in the fall once i get settled in new place
I hoping these two plants give me some good weight to jar up for the long summer months . We will see . This mega Crop seems to be doing its job . So far no issues like PP was doing about now . No brown spots . Fingers crossed
