Psychoactive Mushrooms & Cacti Discussion

I'm not sure why they wouldn't. I think Inertia might mean the company? Physics has nothing to do with MEA. :laughtwo:

Lol ok kool i was also wondering how long does it take to get the substrate ready like should i prepare it b4 hand an let it sit till the jar is fully inoculated or wait till jar is done then do it?

Those pre-sterilized grains aren't cheap and neither are PCs right now. If it's something you plan on doing for a while, buy a PC and sterlize your own grains. If it's just something you want to try once and see how it goes, buy 5lbs of pre-sterilized grains and a single syringe to test out.

@Blazinjones making it the night before, it will still be warm the next day so make sure it's not too hot to kill the mycelium on the grains. You can mix it up to cool it down before adding in your grains.

Man you are not kidding about the Pressure Cookers going up in price

This is one I was looking at from The Zon I really want to get one but I hate paying that much. We don't do canning so I would only be using it for growing mushrooms

That one's not the worst. Based on Presto's website they should have more in stock in early Nov., the price shows $108.99 but I swear they were usually $89. Rona has everyone gardening and canning plus the fact these factories have been shut down for 6 month stock is running low or out.

I would love one of the large All American ones to run outside on my propane burner since my stove is a glass top and that would break it. It would let me do more gourmet mushrooms and maybe eat less red meat or meat in general.

$130 is quite a bit of money.. ive had a $70 one saved in my shopping cart. Is this 8 quart PC enough to sterilize 4 quart sized grain jars at the same time?

I don't think you need too big of one unless you are doing a shitload of jars. I don't want to get to in over my head the first time.

Also with how quickly they grow i don't think I'll ever be doing more than 2-3 monos at the same time.
If you get even one Mono to fully fruit, you are going to have choads for DAYS. You can skip the pressure cooker and get some pre-sterilized rye berries for 7 bucks a bag if you just want to dip your toes in the water. ShroomSupply has them and if you use the shroomery code at exit, 10% off(offset shipping almost). There is a seller on fleabay that has 3lbs of rye berries, wheat, or milo for 14-17 bucks(great feedback and MANY sold). That's one of the many great things about this hobby, you can dive right in and shoot some spores to get some experience and go from there. Alright guys.... Update on the Tasmanian Aussie Cubies, yesterday morning I had fuzzy dots all over the place(about a day or day and a half to recover from shaking) and now she's really kicking in and growing fast. Keep in mind that there were only 3 starting seeds to grow so it was slower in the beginning and the second squirt of old spores.

Here's my 2ft x 2ft DIY cactus garden. On the left is a pot full of rooted Trichocereus Pachanoi "San Pedro". On the right is a pot full of Cereus Repandus "Peruvian Apple". I've never seen any info regarding psychoactivity of the Repandus but it gets very blue. I bought a cutting of each on eBay about a year ago, and cloned more cuttings from those two cuttings in small pots of vermiculite.

These will soon go out on the patio for decorations and I will be planting 24 seeds of 3 strains of Trichocereus Peruvianus "Peruvian Torch". The strains are Puquiensis KK1689, Matucana Collana Pichu and Sharxx Blue OP. The first two strains come direct from the Andes and the Sharxx comes from a grower in Australia, of all places! All three strains show extreme bluing so I'm really excited about starting eight of each.

Before I start the Peruvian Torch I am going to replace the old DIY dual 35W Corn LED in Bat Wing Reflector lamp (which works pretty good BTW with one 3000K lamp and one 6500K lamp). The new lighting is a DIY quad 100W flat panel array with two 3000K panels and two 6500K panels, and will put out 36000 lumens. I tested each of the panels with my Kill-A-Watt power meter and they are actually 80W, but still blindingly bright, and at 84VA are running a very power efficient 95%. A major improvement over the Corn LEDs as all of the LEDS are pointing down to begin with and therefore no reflector is needed. I'll post pics when it's done.

Did you see the size of that cockadoodle God damn do! Hahaha

Well that pressure cooker does list the dimensions of it and I measured four of my jars with a tape measure with space in between.. it can fit four in it with an inch or so around and above the jars. So I'm going with that one.

Still not sure if I want to buy all that or just get grain bags first though.. thanks for the help guys I appreciate it!
