ProfessorFlora's 10 Strain 200W LED Organic Soil Grow

Flowering Day 4
Hey 420! I missed the pic opportunity yesterday because the lights went out before we got back home but it can be nice to miss a day or 2. It looks like more has happened since last seeing them. They were hardly stalled by my hack n slash approach and continue to fill the tent again. I noticed that Currylato is drinking more than the rest which surprised me, she doesn't look like much of a drinker. She'll need a watering later or maybe in the morning whereas the others won't need a watering for a few days. None of them look concerning which is good and I'm really happy so far. Pic time....

I'm fascinated by this thing, I think I will clone her VG....

Things are even for the moment, might be more interesting in 2 weeks time lol....

Done it @Virgin ground!

First I removed one of the Curry's 8 branches. I chose the one closest to the corner. I cut off the bottom 2 growth tips and left the rest. I realised that I had nothing sharp enough to make a nice clean cut so I improvised and used a kitchen knife. I sterilised it with boiling water and was careful making a clean cut....or at least I tried to be careful. The knife wasn't very sharp but I think we're ok. I then dunked it in some clonex and put her in an aeroponic propagator.....

In the propagator there is just plain tap water at a PH of 7.2. I'm not worried about nutes until I see roots! At the moment the vents are fully closed and I'll open them for an hour in about 5 hours. Then they'll be shut again until the morning when I'll open them for a few hours. At this point I may remove the dome completely for a few hours and keep a good eye on her. I'm hoping to have the dome completely gone by this time tomorrow. With the spraying I'm going to keep the enviroment humid until the morning then I'll stop misting completely. Hopefully she'll just be reliant on the water she's taking in through her stem by then. Of course all this could go right up s***'s creek and we'll have to rethink things lol. It's down to her now....

I can't take a pic of her with the light on because the camera goes mental lol but one of the only lights left to use is the 100w 7000k flood light (the other being the 3000k) which I think is pretty overkill for cloning so I've placed a folder up fabric pot on the propagator to create some shade for her. There she is in the top left lol this is as close as the camera likes it!....

I'll keep you updated on her. Happy growing everybody :)

She is just too weird not to clone her. The worst that can happen....she turns out to be subpar and you toss her. The other possibilities are more exciting...let's go with those.

One of my best trimming tools is a scissor style cat or small dog nail trimmer, not the guillotine style. They are super sharp and short/stubby. I can get into the canopy easy. I use it to take clones. It gives a perfect cut.
I know you have a cat/s. In a pinch...if you have one laying around. Might be more user friendly than the kitchen knife.
The little scissors on Swiss army knives work well also. Really sharp and thin.

Lol, I have the guillotine style kittie trimmer. I like the look of those Japanese style single piece trimmers. I think the worlds most expensive scissors are for clipping bonsai trees...I don't know why i needed to tell you that lol

Looking good prof and good luck on the clone!
Lol, it was you who inspired me to have a go again. If all goes well I'm going to grow a massive version of her for my in laws. They'll be running out of bud by then lol. Thanks Dutch :)

They all look so fabulous Professor! Love stopping by to see them in all their glory! :yummy:
And I love the fact that you love stopping by lol. Hopefully I can keep them in all their glory for your viewing pleasure. Please excuse my manners but I haven't stopped by your journal for a while. I will do so shortly :)

You instinctively knew that I love nerdy info. Easy as that. lol!

Lol, just like you, I don’t take it personally. You have lots of work with those two tents! I’m glad to see you doing some cloning. I’m curious to start learning more about it. Maybe I’ll give it a go in a couple grows?

Interesting is another word for jam packed!
Jam packed sounds great then you remember the defoliation, bending branches, leaf tucking, checking for male pollon sacks and the eventual harvest!....at least I get some nice bud out of it lol

The clone is still alive! She's had the dome removed for an hour and has just started to droop so the domes gone back on. I shall remove it again in an hour or so. I won't be misting her anymore from now on so I can encourage her to search out water and grow those roots. I'll decide over the course of the day wether or not to leave the dome off over night, hopefully I can but I'm always cautious with removing the dome for the first long period of time especially because I'll be asleep and not able to check on her. She looks quite happy for the moment though. I won't be checking her stem just yet, I like to give them a few days with no dome and no extra water before looking to see if there is any development. The fastest plant that I ever cloned was the Fruit Tree from Cali connections, she started rooting in 3 days. I don't think the Currylato will be so kind to me lol. Things that are against me for this one are the humidity which is really low now that I've got the two tents and the weather has gone really cold. It's REALLY COLD! Last nights lights off temp was 9C! The clone has the heat from the light that she's under but it's still only around 15C in the cupboard. Also the cut that I made was a bit rough but I've butchered them before and they've rooted. Things that are in my favour are.....I've done this before...a few times. In all seriousness I'm not actually that experienced with cloning and I probably only have a 50% past success rate but most of the ones that failed are from my first few attempts. Later I'm going to put up the small tent and put her in there to see if I can trap a bit of heat. Well here she is just chilling....literally :)
