ProfessorFlora's 10 Strain 200W LED Organic Soil Grow

Hey 420! I nearly got into the grow room last night but my daughter woke up and decided that she wasn't gonna let me do anything productive. Kids!

I've just been in there this second and taken these with the tablet....
IMG_4993.JPG

We're back in the small tent again as the Barneys strains have been put into 10 gallon pots leaving little room for these....

The Hashplant D's have had a haircut. They all have 2 growth tips which I'll let grow for a week or so then I'll remove one from each to use as clones. I'll flower the clones to determine the gender of each plant but I'm not sure what to do with them once I've found that information out. I could let them continue to flower but that means I need more space or I could cull them and start over properly after the next round finishes up. Choices....

PURPLE HAZE
STRAIN REVIEW

On the fourth day of Christmas my true love gave to me....some Purple Haze from G13 Labs. Hey 420. Another day and another review. We have another sativa to check out today. The Purple Haze from G13 Labs is a cross between Purple Haze and an Afgani indica. It's mostly sativa and the indica has apparently been added to boost trich production and colours. The appearance and effects suggest that it has retained its best sativa characteristics whilst being fast to flower and and easy to grow. The plant itself was tall and quite thin with an average amount of bud production. The buds become very pretty as the flowering period comes to an end. They go a deep purple with bright orange hairs that sparkle under the grow lighting. The finished bud isn't the most dense and is a little spongy but it's not too bad. It crumbles up well and smokes without any fuss so I'm happy. The smell throughout flower was quite mild up until the last couple weeks when it became a bit like sour fruit. Sharp and acidic smelling like Grapefruit or lemon. She doesn't taste like that at all though and is very hashy with a woody incense kick. It's not really sweet or fruity as the smell would suggest and is pleasing to consume. It's got a bit of a kick to it and gives me a coughing fit about halfway through a joint every time I smoke one. I normally have a coffee when I smoke throughout the day and I found that I kept running out before the end of the joint as I needed to drink something with each toke. It's functional smoke and is quite sociable. I found it to be good for improving my mood and making things that little bit easier. I've been outside for a couple walks with this one and it makes the scenery look brighter and more crisp. I didn't feel paranoid that I'd bump into someone respectable whilst being baked as a pie like I do with most of my bud. It doesn't do much for appetite and isn't as fun to watch movies with as some but instead makes you feel more productive. I took the opportunity to clean the house before it composted itself. Overall this is a pretty good strain that does the job whilst delivering most of the things growers desire. Taste, effect and some superb bag appeal. Not the best yielder but it's not all about the weight. Let's have a look shall we. Happy growing all....

Hey 420. It's time for another review so if anyone sees this post and would like to choose one then feel free. We still have the Blue OG and the Orka left. The clay pebbles have arrived so we can set up the Wilma system soon. I would love to do it tonight but I might run out of time. I think the new Lil HH will be ok to transplant now. I'm goin to top the 4 clones and try to make them all a similar size. If I flowered them now then the Purple Trainwreck will piss off into the future and dominate the entire tent. I'm certain that one will have good growth and the clones are a little bit ahead of the rest. I'm going to give them a week to settle into the clay pebbles then we'll be flipping the switch to flowering mode for the last time on this thread. I'm going to start a new thread for the Hashplant D's mother hunt. At least that's what I've been thinking about today. Everything is subject to change lol. Hope everyone's been well and I promise I'll get back out and visit some of your journals soon. I'm falling behind again.

ORKA
STRAIN REVIEW

On the fifth day of Christmas my true love gave to me....some Orka from BlimBurn Seeds. Today's strain is an interesting one as it's BlimBurn's attempt at recreating the Moby Dick from Dinafem. It's called Orka and is a cross between Haze and White Widow which is what makes up the MD. I've never had the pleasure of growing the MD though I know someone who has. I have tried some in the past and the two strains are quite different. Firstly is that the Orka is a medium height plant whereas the MB is a tall, cash cropping monster plant. The Orka has medium yields and the MD has large yields. They both taste different as well. Let's talk about the Orka for second. It was an unassuming plant which was easy going and requiring little attention. It was quick for a mostly sativa strain coming in at around 9 weeks. There was a few time when I was looking at her in the tent and I remember thinking that she'll be a bit of something to smoke, something to the pile. When it had finished drying though I was surprised at how nice and frosty it had become. The buds felt good and the smell was even better. It has a sour rotting fruit odour that tingles the nose. It's really good. She tastes pretty sharp and tangy with citrus and skunky tones. I was pleasantly surprised by the first sample and knew that it would cure into something nice. The first part of the joint is refreshing and full of flavour but by the time you get halfway down it start blocking up with resin and you end up with oil smeared on your lips. The bud smokes nicely and is quite heavy on the toke. It starts of smooth but after only a few hits it starts tickling your throat. I didn't cough too much though. The effects for this one are quite strong. It's a definite head high to begin with but then becomes felt throughout the body much more. I didn't feel very energetic with this one and instead felt like my nrain was fizzing for a while. It made me feel cloudy and light headed. It was like my movement had a subtle shadow and my senses were heightened slightly. It's a good high but it didn't feel very sociable to me. It made me feel thoughtful and at peace with myself but it also made me crave solitude. A bit of peace and quite. Not a chance. Overall I very much liked this strain. It's not Moby Dick even though it looks like that's what they we're aiming for but instead is a decent and heavy hitting strain that'll make you smile with each toke. Fruity and heavy hitting. Stinky and good looking. Time for some pics....

Now I feel like I am not at peace with myself.

When you started these reviews you said it was the 12 strains of Christmas, but here we are on the 5th and now you say "We still have the Blue OG and the Orka left" with seven days to go.

Not to mention that this is a strain that makes you crave solitude, and a peace and quiet that you cannot find, and yet you very much liked this strain. Is it that you enjoy the feeling of being unsettled, searching for something you will never reach?

Nice size comparison on the buds. Moby Dick was aptly named.

As I recall, the word of the day last time the Professor "showed off" a root was detumescence.
I had that once and woke most mornings with a smelly index finger !!!

Hey 420! I'm back after having a short break as a reward for the recent harvests. I needed it to catch up on a few things. Hope you're all doing well and keeping out of trouble. I have a confession or two to make. During the chaos of the harvesting and the following clean up I ended up neglecting the veg tent and forgot to water them or check on them at all. The mothers were really floppy and most of the large fans had actually dried up lol. I watered them and took the opportunity to trim them up again. The Hashplant D's also suffered but didn't look quite as bad. The clones suffered as well lol. Everything suffered! I've fixed it all now and things look much better all round. Silly prof! Time for some pics....

It's the quiet before the storm. I'm currently using this tent as the main veg space simply because it makes sense to. More room and better lighting....

The Hashplant D's are stood upright again after being a bit limp. Some of the leaves went dry but most were ok....

looking good for the punishment mate. Anything with hash in its title needs constant stress to bleed in my world. wont harm them mate. I am same with Kush strains. I used to kick myself at my roughness and lack if finesse but no more !! , I am Man , I make mess and fire . I have come to the conclusion that I am not of the white coat clinician end of growing at all !!!. I never got all the scalpel and gloves stuff for cuttings or working. These plants , if undiscovered for their qualities , would be a pain in the arse growing wild and would no doubt be on par for bramble status. a little desperate for a drink is nothing mate. Dont beat yourself up after the months on end of "on point " cropping and growing Prof. For me the past months slower activity has given me catch up time in the real world too ( and bought an oculus quest ! hahaha) so the garden has been a back seat regards time. I do think it is easy to forget how much time and comittment we all put in here daily too. each reply and pic ect.... has to be from some time robbed elsewhere , more difficult when kids and family , work , health ect on top too. I hate getting behind with contact and journals here through genuine interest and community we have. I feel robbed if I get too far behind and out of the loop too. hahaha have a good one mate. miss your banter too.

See what I mean lol. I heard it on the radio so I had no idea about the video until I played it later that day. We used to have to stay awake until 2am to watch Celebrity Deathmatch on MTV. That brings back some memories
That show used to make me howl at the combos they threw up for fights. heehee cant beat stupidity like that. Baseketball is one of my all time fave movies too. Always been a south park mega fan too and just getting back through " The Office" again . I like the US version as much as the original uk one which is rare , you guys normally fuck our humour up in translation hahahahaha ( shameless , the inbetweeners ect...) Life is for laughing about and at period. I struggle with serious to a medical level !!!. Micheal Scott is my inner demon for saying shit I cant hold down when opportunity arises. Doctors are my kryptonite with their long ,bony, fat knuckled fingers !!.
2 rectal examinations invited perfect opportunities for merriment at their expense.
1st one had me " pull the screen round and lay on the bench with your knees tucked into your chest "I could hear him preparing his fun time toys and gloves going on the other side as I laid there feeling like an Epstein Christmas turkey.Just before he walked into the cubicle I said " I hope your bringing Flowers ?" His red cheeks and flustered attempt to stay focused told me I had hit the target dead centre! , he sent me for more tests with a colleague ( bloody boys club sex ring !!) Knowing what was coming had me yet again searching my arsenal for choice weapons to slay the "awkwardness imp" in the room as he looked for something his mate had left behind !!! . I slowly turned my head , looked him square in the eyes and in a lowered tone said " Your name at least, i feel such a slut !!!" and faked a swoon and forehead touching gesture !!!!!. He was so not amused with his bright red face and slipped down glasses peering back at me !!!!!. I love Life with a passion VG. have to laugh

Lol. Don't worry, I've not miscalculated. It's just that I'm doing them in order of how long they've had to cure in the jars. The Blackberry and Purple Moby will be on the weekend and the Barneys strains start from Monday. Would you like to choose which one we do for tomorrow's review? BOG or PMD?

"Is it that you enjoy the feeling of being unsettled, searching for something you will never reach?" No but that's pretty much the story of my life
This is cool ... I'm looking forward to the Blue OG report ...
Hey Guy. The Blue OG will be coming up shortly so you're in luck.

I've managed to turn most of the damage around now. Some of the plants still look a little beat up but the new growth I see coming through on most. A couple of the spare clones look a bit worse for wear but who cares about them. That the beauty of cloning. Provided the mothers are doing ok then there's plenty more clones. I very nearly had an easier time but tripped at the last hurdle and decided to do 12 Strain reviews in a row lol. We're nearly halfway though so it will all be over soon then I'm going to be good....I promise

Theres an American Shameless?
love those Has haircuts prof. they look good mate. very interesting indeed.
I did it so they don't drink the pots in 10 hours flat. It was a pain watering and checking on them so often so I decided to slow them down. I don't actually need them for a while but I like to get an early start
That purple haze sounds pretty great Prof. Energizing without paranoia is one of the things I’m always on the hunt for. :thumb:
It is pretty good but wait until i do the Purple Moby Dick review. That's an awesome effin plant!

Back soon with the Blue OG review and a lil update. It's the weekend tomorrow!!!

Hmmm....
I noticed a very slight tip discoloration on the Exodus Cheese yesterday before I transplanted.
It's slightly worse today. Rust spot at the tip and a hint throughout the leaf veins. It isn't tip burn. It looks like how problems presented themselves last grow.
She was getting rootbound so perhaps its from that?
They are on 4gr/gal MC and .4gr/gal Kelp.
The other plants seem unaffected.

BLUE OG
STRAIN REVIEW

On the sixth day of Christmas my true love gave to me....some Blue OG from G13 Labs. Hey all. We're halfway through this little series of reviews. We have another indica strain to do today so let's get on with it. The Blue OG is a cross between Blue Moonshine and OG Kush and has short indica nature. It's a quick strain with a typical indica structure. It'd probably work well as a sea of green strain. I couldn't provide mine with as much light as I would have liked and the plant suffered for that. I couldn't raise the plant or lower the lights anymore and the other plants became more dominant partially shading this one. Her top bud received adequate lighting and turned out ok. It is dense, frosty and has some pretty colours. It's mostly greens with little flecks of darker hues of purple. The pistils have gone a nice bright orange and stand out against the greens. It's quite a pretty plant and is easy to grow and care for. It didn't have any problems being fed on higher amount of nutrients and she has a bit of play and won't punish mistakes to much. It seems hardy enough and handled a healthy defoliation and some lighter training without any problems. The finished bud is good looking and has a nice but quite mild smell. The OG is light as the smell is more fruity. It's pleasant and subtle but not very strong. The taste is a bit better but again, not much to shout about. I've grown several different Blueberry and OG Kush crosses and sadly this isn't the best one. It's not bad though and is way better than anything I can purchase where I'm from. I'm just being picky, that's all. The effects are actually very good and have classic indica traits. It makes you sleepy and sluggish whilst giving you the appetite of a brown bear. The effect is creeping starting off with a light buzz felt mainly in the head which then moves onto a full body stone after 20 mins to half an hour. It's mostly suitable for evening use but if you only use a little then you can have a relaxing experience rather than a more sedating one. Overall I think that this is a nice strain and would be good for beginners and people new to cannabis but connoisseurs may find it a bit lacking. It's easy to grow and is a potent indica being suited to those in need of rest. Happy growing everyone....

Hi VG. You Ok? :hugs:
Since we have the option to get in a whale groove, I'd say Purple Moby Dick should be reviewed in close proximity to the Orka!
Fine choice sir. One slab of Moby coming up. Technically I could do the review now as it's nearly midnight but I need some sleep and smoking one of the best sativa strains ive grown right now probably isn't the best idea.
