Week 11 Updates

Heyooooo! :welcome: It's been a while since I have posted an update because I was on vacation. I got back late last night and didn't have the energy to snap some pics of the ladies. They were fine on their own while I was away because of the timers; however, I still had my cousin come over to make sure they weren't dying or running into problems lol.

Here are the pics:

Nice work - any change in the wonkey buds ?

:thanks: So far they look the same to me :( I hope they perk back up and start producing nice crystals like my other babes. Lolita is a beast already! I can visually see her getting frosty and we still have a few weeks to go

I would like to introduce my better half to the 420 community, Mr. "SCASKER". He is just getting started on his first grow which coincidentally is part of my perpetual grow cycle. Today we took the clones from my grandpa that we purchased a few weeks ago because we have another LED light arriving tomorrow.

Here are some pics of our new setup. I hope to keep this area ready for vegetative growth and clones until I can get another tent.

June 21st, 2016 - Veg Room Updates

Hello friends! It's been a while since I've posted a nice round-up for y'all to look at and give feedback on. Today I need help determining what sort of plant training to do on my 1.5month clones. My grandpa cared for them during the first month or so and they never received any training or powerful lights so their veg growth was small. Now I have some decent sized ladies that need some beautification. Ideally I wanna hit about 8-12 colas per plant. I have a fair amount of vertical and horizontal space so I could try doing some LST and Topping I just need some guidance on where I should touch them. I'll post pics just beneath this

I'm also accepting name suggestions! Maybe they can be descriptive of the plant, this batch is quite funky haha

Not sure about clone training, their growth is so unpredictable. I've tried to keep mine going horizontal, but I am not doing a good job. The stems are so weirdly placed each branch will suddenly start a new growth tip out of nowhere. I've been clipping shoots that extend vertically and reinforced the ones going sideways. I'm not a big fan of clones since they are so fragile and take forever. Good luck with whatever training you decide on...

KiG :green_heart:cheers

preflowers will show only once the plant is mature enough...closer to 5/6 week mark if left in veg that long....all of my bag seeds showed sex before flipping. :thumb: not all strains will, sativa usually takes longer to show/flower

the preflowers usually will be near the top growth usually top 3 nodes. [my experience with seeing them]

Thanks for the best wishes, Snid. The plants in my flower tent were actually clones and did fairly well with training so I hope this set of plants fairs the same. These plants have grown quite a bit more modes than I would have liked before training but I'm thinking I might be able to grow out these lower branches to make some copies lol. I wanna top or FIM these ladies because I really want a nice full canopy. Maybe with some encouragement and help from the community I'll start a SoG or Scrog.

I think I might be seeing some pre flowers showing up on the newest set of leaves so I'm gonna let it mature. Hoping for those wispy pistils sticking out

June 21st Flowering Tent Updates

WOW, two updates in one day is kinda ridiculous for me! I guess the blogging bug bit me hard today. Here are some pics of the girls in the flowering tent. They're about about 45 days into flowering and are looking quite fab!!! Let me know what you think

Voilà! We have a "cloning chamber" now made from a repurposed plastic tote and a mini water vaporizer to maintain humidity. I'm using a 6300K CFL bulb to keep them lit up.

Procedure:

Choose a branch 5-8inches long, trim off auxiliary shoots and shorten the leaves to reduce evaporative area.

Cut branch at 45° angle and place in a cup of water to prevent air bubbles from rushing in and ruining your new baby.

Dip the fresh wound in cloning gel or powder, I used roottech cloning gel to promote new root growth.

Place new baby in solo cup filled with slightly damp coco

Question?

I read an article on another fourm that discusses plant sexing of seedlings 3-6+ weeks old using pre-flowers. Has anybody else had good luck using pre-flowers as indicators of plant sex?

Thanks in advance!
They flower their clones. Take a cut, label it, flower it. Male or female will show quickly in flower (10 -14 days)

Oh, I'm subbed too. Came across your grow on Sue's journal. Props for starting on DWC, it's a mercy less grow style. But your doing well. CU? I got out in 02, with BS Chem. I miss Colorado but Oregon us nice too. Flower's look good. I would carry more leaf mass into flowering but your doing great.

Cheers

Welcome to my humble abode! Plenty of front row seats left lol.

I'm going to take some clones from the seeded plant as soon as they're big enough to cut then they'll be in the flower tent straightaway for sexing. From what I can tell, it looks more like a pistil filled calyx than a banana filled but we will see.

Yeah I got a little carried away with defol. I noticed my more "wild" plants are enjoying their growth more than her trimmed up sisters. I love CU just getting sick of paying for it and how stressed it's making me. I can't wait to check out Oregon one day
