Praying leaves

Does this happen only with too much light? My phone is reading no more then 23.000 LUX and the Mars Hydro is at 20% now, at 30% the leaves are shouting at the sky (tent top). Isn't this too little light, especially for flower phase?

A photo in natural or white light of one that you have that is praying and a photo of one that is not. It sounds like you might be seeing something that is not the traditional "praying".

I have 3, they all pray and they all ... don't pray depending on light intensity! I will bump up the led to make em worship the god of indoor lighting, The LED.

No. Leaves that "pray" indicate that your plant is receiving adequate levels of light.

Per this table, your light is generating about 350µmols (23k lux * 0.015) which is a good light level for late seedling/early veg but plants getting that level of light in veg or flower will display characteristics of inadequate light Light is how a plant makes food and, at those light levels, cannabis plants are underfed.

Below are light readings from my Spring 2022 grow.

Cannabis loves light. Turn it up to 11.

What Mars light are you using?

Turned up to 40-50 and everything is looking good. I must have been mistaking ... although after a day in 50% I saw some spots on one of the plants top leaves and went back to 30%. I have on that tent a Mars FC-E 8000 and the tops are 20 cm from the light, and growing some more.

Good morning my friend, hope you are doing well.
I find it has as much to do with nutrients as environment.
Just the right npk will help.
Too much N you get a curl.
Too much K you get a taco.
Then there is light, temp & rh. All need to be perfect. :thumb:
VPD is important.

N issues these leaves are droopy , above

Everything in these pics is working properly

This one is slightly high in N for flower
See the deep green and slight curl

Bumped everything up to 40k lux, will let it for a while and try to see if I get any issues. Will post here if I have problemos. Thanks for jumping in.

Thanks Bill! I was actually thinking I might have too much N on one or 2 plants, but I'm not sure if that blue it's the normal leaf color or it has to much N. Went down a bit on the feed since yesterday, and will keep it on the low side too see if the color changes and also to see how fast the water is sucked out form the pots.

20cm ≈ 8" — that's a very low hang height. The PPFD map from the vendor is at this link. With that hang height and 50% power, the PPFD at center will be about 800µmols which is the lower limit of the light saturation point. Good stuff.

Re. spots on the leaves - that would be interesting to see. Any chance you got a photo it if? If your plants are getting too much light, the first reaction is photo avoidance. Plants leaves will taco/canoe or rotate around the petiole. That happened to me once and it took about an hour to rotate back. If light levels aren't reduced, the plant can't process the photons that are hitting it and leaf tissue gets damaged.

Good that you caught the issue. A PAR or lux meter allows the grower to set the lights to a certain level but it's up to the grower to observe the grow and make the decision on how to handle things. I like to give my plants lots of light but, as you have shown, it's better to err on the side of caution.

This the only spot until now.

Is this too much N? I always get these colors. Dark blue on the fingers and the big fans are bluish, smaller leaves near the buds still have some green.

Nope, they actually look great my friend.
Do you have your lights at 100% ?

Nooo... no :)) I am afraid. They are 20 cm, one of em, it will fry.
I will try tomorrow... should I?
OMG yes.
By the start of Flower my lights are max and pumping my girls.
Can you increase 10% at a time to give them a bit to adjust.
But that garden needs a ton of light.
It's huge and deep.:welldone:

Interesting.. @Bill284 could VDP that's off also lead to mag or n problems? as my humidity is pretty much a constant flux of one extreme to the other and back again.
I don't see a mag issue.
Or any issue.
Just a nice big healthy garden.
But environment effects growth.
Low heat and high humidity decrease growth and nutrient uptake.
If she can't gas off she can't absorb nutrients.
I'm growing in a rainforest this fall.
Difficult to keep them building at 98 rh. 😳
You don't have any signs of an issue though.
What is your concern?

That whole side yellowing off like that does seem rather strange to me, especially if it continues.. I posted that in Nileog's journal though. I'll update mine.
The whole temp/humidity/airpressure stuff in the tent could be better controlled and more fine tuned & constant, temps are also dropping now outside, tent is running cooler.

I don't see yellow girls in the last pics.
Just a healthy garden.
Show me where?

Omg
I'm so confused now I'm talking to 3 different people on 2 threads about the same thing.
I didn't notice the name had changed asking questions. 😅
I thought I was still talking to the same person. 🤪
I get confused on my own.
I don't need help.😂🤣😅
I posted an answer in the other thread with pics.
