Interesting read I thought you’d like on MarzBadrock’s journal here about his grow comparing LED and HPS. It’s a short journal and I just linked to somewhere on the last page.

I got everything broke down, shade leaf off. The difference in weight of untrimmed bud is miniscule. Between the LED table and the HPS table is only .09 lbs, the testing facility is picking samples up today just to do a thc, terpene comparison. Should have those results Wednesday.

Interesting thread
I've been doing bloom under my 315w CMHs instead of using LED. After reading that, I'm almost tempted to research what the best time to do it would be, and replace the 315w CMH with 400w HPS towards the end of bloom to maximize quality. Might not have to, though; the 315w does pretty well in that category.

One light fixture with multiple bulbs and panels (all replaceable) - At the beginning of 12 hours on, black lights (UV) turn on. One half hour later, red spectrum fluorescent bulbs turn on along with the UVs. A half hour after that, both go off and LEDs come on. One hour after that, the LEDs go off right after the HPS powers up. The HPS runs for eight hours, then you repeat the pattern above in reverse for the last two hours. It would be similar to how a day starts, and save money on the electric bill, while most of the light would be HPS (along with a little of everything else).
You'd be able to set a built in timer and replace the bloom bulbs with grow bulbs for 18/6 (blue spectrum fluorescent and MH or CMH).

Note - Started six very politically correct Ghost Train Haze #1 S1 seeds that I got from some guy who works at Channel 5 somewhere in Mendocino and I sent ten dollars to but next week he didn't say a prayer on the radio and all my dreams didn't come true.....

The plague killed off our Whyte Cassle; it closed about two months ago Bring Top Hat back. Or Carter's.
Back in the day, I could eat. I ate four Wopperz and a large fries for lunch one time; I only weigh like 116 lbs People trip out at that $hit.
I'm just getting done resetting some of my light timers. I thought about it today, and decided to run both my 315w CMH bloom tents during the day (12/12 - 6am to 6pm) and all five veg units at night (18/6 - 3pm to 9am). The bloom plants need tending more often, so I should run them both when I'm awake during the day. Running veg at night gives me time in the morning, afternoon, and night to tend to those plants. After I replace my last veg light setup with another 100w LED, I'll be running 630w at night and 680w during the day (minus the fan, which is constant 24/0).

Are you still running the one 8" fan with the chimpomatic ductwork going in all directions. I'm fixing to do the same thing. I have a new 5x5 I need to get outta the box tomorrow.
I'm thinking about one 8" fan exchanging air in 3 tents. Should work

Yeah, I'm still running that same setup. It took a lot of finagling to get all the temps right, but if you're not using airflow to control that as much as I am you should be okay. I actually have it running at medium speed for the Winter.
