PotChimp's Side Projects

Hell even we test our own crosses. It blows my mind that breeders release such shitty seeds without testing. Out of my 6 crosses I've got a look at 3 so far. All seem good. But the Ting x Chernobyl is in question. I ran 3, two green pheno's and one purple ( Ting leaner ) The green pheno's both popped lots of nanners. The purple one was stable. I've still got a cut of it in veg

Chimp's got a point. How the fook do you manage to product seeds that ALL hermie? :hmmmm:

Even my accidental pollenations made plenty of useful seeds. :bongrip:

And now for the other side of the coin! :cough:
No purposeful misspellings here.
Matthew Riot - Riot Seeds - Clockwork Orange:

You know that incompetence becomes totally mastered when every single thing you do fails. What are the odds of all twelve Riot Seeds plants I've grown (most in optimal conditions) doing this? Everything else in the tents did fine, by the way:

Let me guess. I don't know what I'm doing, and I'm just jealous because you bring the fire.
This $hit you do is garbage. Do the world a favor and find another line of work.
And he ain't cheap either!!! Always amazes me when a 'breeder' can charge the amounts they charge (which hey, ain't no one telling us we gotta cough up those crazy prices but we do anyways :hmmmm: ) but then offer no follow if a customer has issues. "nope, you musta done something wrong, its not our problem since we have your money now". I know that there is a saying "You get what you pay for".....but that ain't always true! Hope you find some winners elsewhere brother!

Probably recessive genes on both sides......that would be my guess. Only a complete dumbass would continue with it if they saw it in the parents.

I bought a bunch of his $hit when I first started :(
Next up are Blackberry Trainwreck (regular), Killer A5 Haze (fem), and one I'm not sure of yet. I'll do twelve plants.
You will love that Killer A5 or KA5H (pronounced CASH here) Chimp.....thats some good stuff. I am going to be doing some crosses with my cut (no stretch at all in her....not too many 80 day sativas can say that) and the potency is UP there (28% for this cut).

My only complaint on the strain is it develops really tight nodal spacing if you grow them in small containers too long. I have started going from clone to final pot to help avoid the really tight spacing. Seems to be the way to go with her. I can't wait to see what you get from them! :tommy:

There are certain breeders that will hit you with the "they are for novelty purposes only" line since a lot now put that on their packs for legal reasons.

There were a lot of people breeding with Trainwreck and the main cut everyone uses is known to throw nanners. It seems like a lot of the "elite" cuts are actually prone to throwing them as well. I think when you get certain plants people tend to overlook the herm tendencies just because they are that good. Some of them will be fine if grown perfectly, but if even something small is off they will give you issues. Which is fine if you grow in a perfect environment and have your feed schedule down. But for people that are learning or grow in whatever environment they can (ie most home growers), there can be some real issues that pop up.

Elite genes tend to throw nanners LATE in flower. If you see nanners or full on hermie before the tail end of flowering, I sure would be using that cut.

I have several cuts that do throw nanners the last week or two of flower, usually down low. I don't mind that....i see that as the last ditch effort to procreate. The stuff I see in Chimps pictures sure doesn't look like its the end of flowering. And the only way for a trait to be passed on 100% of offspring is for it to become a dominant trait....otherwise it would be a hit or miss thing.

What Chimp has going on is a full on ball sack! But with the Trainwreck it can produce some awful herms. One of the worst herms I have ever had once a Purple Trainwreck. It threw all sorts of sacs/bananas down low on week 4 that I did not notice until too late! I had to cut my losses and kill it.

You know....I just had a weird one myself. I popped a couple Malawi x Norther Lights Auto from ACE and one of them popped a sac, but then a damn hair grew out of it. I swear I was expecting to see the thing explode but nope....a hair. Looks just like a male preflower, hanging down and everything.....but a hair sticking out. I said fuck it and let them go for now....since nothing else is flowering yet.

That one may turn out to be female. A GDP pheno I kept for a long time was like that; the flowers looked male at first. I'm glad you mentioned the Killer A5 Haze clustering because I have that problem with a GTH#1 I run, and the plants get grey mold a lot because of it. Maybe I should try going from clone to final pot also and see if it helps.

I'll repot these later now that I have some soilless mix, but on the left are 8 Apollo 13 f3 plants and on the right are 8 Nevil's Haze x Apollo 13 f2 plants:

I need to get a feel for the height of this LED. They're not stretching at the height that it's set now, but they've twice dried up to the point of wilt. I put it a little higher after I fed them this morning.
I like the way a few of each are looking (so far).
