Pollinating LSD & Wedding Cake With G13 Haze This Time: Can't Wait!

I'm pollinating some LSD and wedding cake this time with some G13 haze male pollen in the next couple days. I pollinated some planet of the grapes last time with some G13 and came out with this plant that grew two extra leaves from the center of the leaves. I've never seen this happen before, but these are all seeds and the two I planted of this were female and have the same leaf pattern. Neat! I'm pretty excited about this harvest.

Thanks!!! It shouldn't be a problem as long as I stored my pollen correctly. Last time I just let the male grow in the same room. This time it's stored pollen from that same male. I went from the freezer to fridge to my grow room. I'll apply tomorrow.

Pollen stored well is a big help.
For my last grow that I recently harvested, I was given some poorly stored pollen, bugger all, just some pollen dust clinging to the inside wall of a plastic bag, it had been stored with greenery holding moisture. I nevertheless used it to dust 2 stems of 3 plants. So far I have checked 4 of those 6 stems and found 9 seeds of 1 strain and 3 of another. With properly stored pollen I reckon I would have got several hundred seeds. Good luck with it!

Some folks put some grains of rice with the seeds to act as a desiccant, some heat the rice first to really dry it to the maximum so it can absorb any stray moisture. Always good to have some nice pollen stored in the fridge.

Ok I think it's a successful pollination. Now it's time to keep fans off a couple days, correct?

I hear people say how crazy it spreads and how it could ruin an entire harvest, but I find that not necessary. The pollen pretty much sticks to the THC. Last time I had a male in the same room. I did have it secluded from the rest of the females but same room with fans running. That's how I got my last seeds. This time I did it in a controlled fashion. I turned my big fans off and only have my small fan that cools my lights. I think it'll be alright. I was scared the first time because of what people were saying how pollen could ruin the entire harvest. It really is not that bad! Just be careful and make sure your fans ain't on full blast. All I can do now is cross my fingers for some seeds. I'm super pumped!

When I have selectively pollinated I have isolated/covered the pollinated stems and sprayed water to the rest of the buds so any stray pollen is rendered non viable.
I'm not scared of seeds brother! That's how you save money! I've got generations of seeds now built up. Now I'll have some new strains again. I'm excited!

I have only done it outside and I probably took a bit of a risk with the breeze potentially blowing pollen about, but even so it worked pretty well without pollinating the rest of the plants.

I know what you mean about the panic mention of warnings, but this year I saw just how badly wrong it can go when pollination is uncontrolled. A grow buddy grew out over a dozen plants in his outdoor garden which included some regular seeds. He didn't get the males out and during flowering he found thousands of bees were descending on the males for the pollen and the bees and the breeze ended up pollinated everything. He gave me a few packets of sample buds, no kidding, but by weight the packets were almost 60% seeds! I now have several hundred seeds of each sample he gave me! I'll never live long enough to grow more than 2% of them out! Besides I'd prefer females, but if I had the space I'd be happy to grow out regulars too.

It definitely is a blast making your own seeds!

Damn!! Yeah I guess it would out there when you have several males and the elements. Plus your bees carrying it. That's awesome how it all works! That's what I'm more into. I rarely ever smoke. I like the whole growing process and how it all works. I grow way more the just herb! I been practicing horticulture since "1997".

Headed into week 4. Is there a way to tell if your females took to the pollen? Also does anyone know if a hearing pad is actually necessary for making clones? I appreciate it.

I don't think there is any definitive way to tell, but usually pollinated pistils will start to 'brown off' in the days after successful pollination. I did selective pollination on my recent grow but I couldn't tell for sure until after harvest.

I kind of thought the browning off myself. Hopefully it was viable pollen. I took some cuttings and I didn't use a hearing mat for the first 2 weeks and I lost about 4 of em. I still have about 10. They got a little bit of roots. I hope they make it. I knew better! I should've had the heat mat on!!!
