It comes with the ph 4.01 and 7.01 calibration sachet 20ml... Is this easy to use/calibrate? I know nothing about this shit
It's not as bad as programming the television, but you do need to read the instructions.

So the electrode part should come with a cap or something, you keep the storage solution in the tip of the cap, then place the electrode part in it and keep it standing upright......The piece should come with a manual and directions for how to keep it stored properly, and how to calibrate it, pretty easy stuff once you actually have it and are looking at it
And no, not annoying.... rather help people and make sure they get it right, the only bad questions are really the ones you don't ask when you aren't sure, we've all been there and all had people help us along
Rinse with distilled water after and put the cap back on. Make sure it has solution in the cap to keep it wet. It comes with instructions.
I got 1 day shipping so I will have it tomorrow but one more question even though I'm sure instructions will clarify. What's the point of the 4.01 solution and 7.01 solution rather than just having a single calibration solution?
For soil I'd say slurry test is the most accurate, here's why.............. I only learned of run-off testing from this forum, I got advised by an older member here to look into the slurry test, so I did so........ what I found what that all universities and labs use the slurry test as an accurate means of testing soil in the field or in the lab......so I figure that it's most likely the best way to do it......there's multiple variations of the test itself, but the one commonality is always neutral water(ph 7.0) and de-ionized
My issue with the run off test is this.....If the labs insist on using 7.0 de-ionized water, and for a run off test you're using ph'd water or nute water, how accurate can it really be? How skewed are the results by not using a neutral water source?
I use the SunPlus Pioneer 6, they're a sponsor of ours here, it's an incredible fixture......For the test I use 15ml soil(try to dig about 1-2" on the side of the pot for this) and 15-20ml water, let sit for 15-20 min, then test the water....I got my de-ionized water in a local grocery store yes, I plan on getting an RO system down the line

I stole my wifes baking spoon set lol, has 6 spoons,1.25ml, 2.5ml, 5ml, 7.5ml, 10ml, 15ml.........she was not impressed
There's different variations like I say, if he uses 2oz of each, perhaps he lets his sit an hour or longer?
Yes they're easy to calibrate, and even if they come calibrated I'd still calibrate it before first use, and use storage solution with it always. Storage solution goes a long way in saving the diode and keeping it calibrated longer
