Please comment on my progress / need feedback from the pros

1) they keep telling me not to overwater, but isn't flushing the mother of overwatering??? and wouldn't flushing soaks the soils so bad that the root would be able to breath at all???

2) when exactly should i fret the soil? after flushing or during flushing? if it's after the flushed soil has dried then how would the plant live a couple of days without nutes in the soil???

1. No. I get your logic, but it really doesn't work that way...I promise! Just don't force the water though at turbo speed.

2. I think the standard practice is to water with nutes immediately after flushing...but this is in no way necessary for the plant's survival. My first set of plants stayed completely green for 3 months on nothing but tap water.

I'm sorry for getting all bold and CAPITALIZED on you but YOU NEED TO START TESTING YOUR PH! You WILL end up locking out nutes otherwise. Let me know if you need help on how to do this. It can be as cheap as a $7 kit.

Your plants are going to be fine. Good luck!

P.S. Spend $3 for a cheap thermometer/hydrometer.

GrowingGirls, thanks a lot!!! :adore:

have just now ordered myself the Hanna 98128 PH tester, should take some time till its arrival but at least i'm getting there.

What's the procedure with the calibration solution? where do i get those and how should i use them? should i get one bottle for + and one bottle for - ? or a single bottle of a certain PH? of course using home supplies would be most easy but except of lemon juice what else can i use for lowering and/or raising the PH of the water? and one last question, should i test and soil or water?

thanks again! :thumb:

the ph tester is on its way, also looked into 4 and 7 solutions for calibrating the tester and ph down and up solutions for adjusting the ph level...!

i wonder if there are bad ph up and down solutions out there..., couldn't find any store that consider shipping outside the states, so i'll have to buy locally and hopefully i won't get tricked or anything like that... i mean, all the stuff that i have seen here (where i live) looks handmade :(

all of my 4 plants are starting to show me the same thing, that they lack something, and i guess the ph thing will let them get back on track.

but smell has become present in the room, no mistaking in that!!! :)

day 28;

Still waiting for the PH tester that i bought to arrive by mail, in the meanwhile plants are deprived of their very valuable nutrition, this is what is happening to my plants as i understand...

Also, i have observed that the plants haven't really grown much since 10 days ago, at least not in hight anyway, but they do drink much more water though! :hmmmm:

I hope now, that this thread is on page 2, people still will be able to find it and comment on my progress! or maybe its time for some admin member to move this thread to "Journals" !?

I used to check my pH, but now it's just a waste of time. If your water is consistent, checking pH is pointless. I've never once had a problem with lockout.

i see you mostly grow outside right? in that true also for indoor grow?
what do you think my problem is according to the pics?

i've been reading a lot on this site, and until yesterday i thought i have a PH problem, now i'm not sure anymore and think it might be a nute burn problem...! either way, its getting worse :bitingnails:

1. put your plants in bigger pots 3 to 5 gallon containers'''
2.stop using the Nuts for a little while and flush your plant out in the small containers no less then 3 times a day and do it for 2 days then trans plants them in bigger pots it will take 1 yo 2 weeks to see a change in them coming back...

How goes it fella?
How are they doing now? Its my first time growing too and i think i might have three four weeks left...I'v really got the bug for growing now and if i'm honest about it-i am looking forward to sample mine and the plants hard work, yet at the same time i'm not looking forward to the day my girls get the chop....If you follow...lol

keep up the hard work..:goodluck:

I grow in and out. I don't check pH for either. I've checked my water plenty of times in the past and it's always between 6 and 7.

I don't have much experience with flushing or nute burn because I always go real easy on the nutes at first and build my way up. I usually don't hit full strength until I get into flowering. In my experience this is the best way to avoid problems. Follow MV's advice and you should be set. They're still looking good, so don't despair.

Hello you all :)

I'm back with another update! but first of all i want to thank comrades Matanuska Valley and Bud stankalot for helping and giving me their advise :thanks:

I did as they said and flushed and then transfered the plants to bigger pots! as you can see from the pictures below, the plants got a whole lot bigger! also i bought a water PH tester and some up and down PH solutions + a soil PH tester, so now i'm balancing the water to 6.5

I still suspect that something is missing and/or something i'm still doing wrong because the bottom leaves keep getting yellow and crisp, but at a slow rate (although its impossible to see the yellowing etc. from the pics)

But from tomorrow i'm switching to 12/12 and officially beginning the flowering stage :)
